Mix 3 parts Switzerland with 1 part Scotland and add a bit of Chile and you get a most satisfying visual feast, as seen here in Peru.
Getting to this place required a great deal of effort and hiking through the night, but come morning, seeing these clouds breathing life into this scene, along with the sun highlighting the 3 lakes and many layers beyond was an absolute treat.

No matter how many times I retreat to the wilderness under the night-sky, laying in the shadow of the mountains, I will never stop marvelling at the grandeur of this earth.
The stars will always remind me of our scale as humans in the significance of this vast universe. Yet just as these dots in this cosmos, we are as complex, intricate and beautiful. A paradox that only travelling will reveal. ‘You think you are a small entity but enwrapped in you is the whole universe.’ Ali Ibn Abu Talib

Passion-fuelled night, darkness, no sleep.
Crack ‘o’ dawn, light, we’re high up, high on beauty like which we’ve never seen.

Every now and then step (or climb) out of the comfort zone. Check out this series from an Alps climbing trip that well and truly ensured this was achieved for me, 😅. 1 - Fire & ice.
2 - Ice cave in a mountain.
3 - Almost at the top.
4 - ‘Act natural’. So much swagger from my buddy @airpixels you probably didn’t even notice the glacier! 😄
5 - @stefanfilzmoser showing you just how big these peaks are. See him?
6 - Sunset peaks & mountain lakes.
7 - The perfect end.

1. Lupine fields and the bluest of lakes.
2. Blue lakes and river braids.
3. Cessna special. Maybe my favourite as it was the one time we weren’t getting bitten to death by sand flies! If you’ve been, you know!
4. Follow the rainbow.
5. Found the gold-en hour.
6. Pure mood.
7. Someone say mood?
8. Literally a roadside view.
9. Sunrise feat. Mt. Cook.

Enjoy these captures from the most recent couple of trips to Iceland.
For a country as popular as this is, it’s a nice challenge coming up with something unique. Irrespective of how many visits, the landscapes of Iceland never fail to impress and I’m just as easily captivated now as the very first time.
1. Layers upon layers. Spot the hiker edition 🐑
2. More layers, more 🐑
3. Epic landscape and epic scale brought to you by the Lady in red.
4. Follow the lady in red, it’s about to get wet.
5. Told you.
6. Bird envy.
7. Lakes like sapphires feat. the perfect volcanic ash backdrop.
8. Someone say something about Volcanoes? 🔥

Fond memories of mornings gone by.
The hikes on the Huayhuash track meant often being sleep deprived and trekking through the night to get these kinds of conditions. With little energy and high altitude to deal with, boy was some of the hiking a challenge too.
Check out videos in my highlight reel from this jaw-droppingly beautiful location as pictures just don’t do this place justice! As one of my favourite trips to date I’d still certainly say it was worth it.
What do you think?

Lush greens, palm leaves, gentle waves, cool breeze, a summer eve in Seychelles please!
If there was only one destination I could revisit, here it is. What’s top of your travel wish list?

Bringing back some summer vibes with this one!
For those of you who have recently started following my journey and seen mainly mountain range posts, this one may seem a little out of sync. I’m all about capturing the essence of a place though and trying to recreate the emotions felt at the scene.
Don’t you love the way the vegetation softens and surrounds these giant rocks in the Seychelles? Notice too how the sunlight penetrates through, bouncing down to the those walking amongst the lush landscape.
Walking along this paths leads to a place called Anse source d'argent, thought to be ‘one of the best beaches in the world’. I still remember the feeling of excitement as we eagerly awaited the upcoming grand reveal.

Surreal scenery witnessed whilst hiking in the Peruvian Andes.

Summer vibes and summer hikes.
This was taken last month. Officially the winter period, it’s also the driest time of year south of the equator and hence locally still referred to as the summer in the Andes of Peru.
Winter never looked so good!

This shot captures a welcome moment of reflection in an otherworldly landscape in Norway at midnight after a long day of hiking.

#Hellofrom Huayhuash, one of my favourite trips of all time, and certainly the most physically demanding. This morning is particularly memorable given the very early start, hiking in the dark and then arriving at the sunrise point almost 2 hours prematurely, sitting under a rock trying not to freeze our butts off.
First light revealed not one, but three huge lakes surrounded by these rugged peaks. I’ll soon work on the astro/night shots and sunrise captures from this trip, but here’s a more straightforward edit of one of my favourite locations in Peru for now.

One of my favourite trips of all time, and certainly the most physically demanding! The 2am starts, 10+ hour gruelling daily hikes, altitude over 5000m, and sketchy trails all fade away when first light reveals such beauty that I’m yet to have witnessed elsewhere.

Stood in the middle of all these cool blue glacier tones, stretching seemingly endlessly through this land studded by giant volcanoes, the usual daily stresses somehow aren’t so significant, even if for just a little while.

Here’s a repost of some of my favourite captures from the Dolomites region, Italy.
1 - Hiking surrounded by giant peaks.
2 - First light in a snow-capped wonderland.
3 - Golden hour in Alpe de susi.

I can never get enough of the crazy textures within glaciers. One of nature’s many works of art.
