I realised that I’d never been “alone” with my own thoughts for long enough to allow the dust to settle.
And that when I did slowly but surely I could make things out again.
It felt grounding.
I was giving myself the time I so happily gave to others in my life. I was listening to myself. And, I was learning.

As adults we are responsible for bringing calm into our children's lives. However when we are tired, over scheduled, hungry we tend to react which inevitably escalates stress.
It's at these times we need to ask ourselves 'Am I getting enough rest?' If not, ask for help so you can get some down time. 'Am I committing myself to too many things?' Remember it's Ok to say 'No'. 'Am I eating properly?' Skipping breakfast and grabbing a packet of crips, longterm isn't nourishing. Self care is imperative. Remember your children are your mirrors.
The little things in life are not little! Notice them. Appreciate them.

Being calm is a superpower! It’s a protective shield that guards you against worry, anxiety, fears, and overpowering emotions and protects you when life is whirling all around.
To access your calm state, start by breathing so deeply you can feel it in your belly. Slow deep breaths help to lower your heart rate and lets you regain control of your brain. If you take some time every day to practice being calm, it will come much easier for you when you need it in a hurry.
Give yourself a break, Sit for a moment and get calm. It will benefit you instantly and in the long run,
