Need to get out of the aggressive city for a bit. Going back down south for some sun and sand healing. Needing some grounding, southern hospitality, southern cooking, and to see my family. It’s just so important to stay balanced and sane in this chaotic world. Always walking towards peace. 🙏🏿🙏🏿 Be well. I will be answering messages less frequently. Thank you for overstanding. #carolinagirl#beachlife#familylife#vacation#sunchild#traveler

INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE OF RIO - MATE ICED TEA, LEMONADE AND POLVILHO BISCUIT BEACH VENDORS
There is a classic Carioca beach snack combination that you need to try while in Rio: Mate Iced tea and Globo biscuit.
The yerba mate Leão tea can be served pure or with lemon juice. Always cold, it is perfect for cooling off the hot days at the beach. To accompany, the favorite option of Cariocas is the traditional Biscoito Globo, a manioc starch biscuit, which has two flavors – sweet and salty.
For decades, this duo has been found in the sands of Rio beaches, sold by vendors full of personality and a unique way of attracting the clients. With gallons on their shoulders and a stock of biscuits, they walk along the waterfront announcing the products loudly and with creativity, until it gets dark.
For helping to maintain one of the city’s tastier traditions, the mate and Globo biscuit vendors were declared Carioca Cultural Heritage of Rio in 2012. Find out more in the link in our bio.
Tell us: have you ever tried this delicious duo? 😋
