So, our house plans call for a private back porch. We decided that it wouldn’t work like the blueprints said. So, my awesome husband built me steps off the back porch.
Siding should arrive within the next couple of weeks.
HVAC started yesterday with more work taking place over the next couple of weeks.
Plumbing & drywall has started. Front porch flooring will go in too. #gettingclosereveryday #modernfarmhouse #farmers #myhusbandisthebest #buildtwo #diyers

Buying locally made Australia made products really makes a difference.
Purely nutz is a great Australian owned and made peanut butter. Proteco oils makes peanut butter and oils from various Australian grown plants.
Protect oils is a manufacturer in Kingaroy Queensland.
As low food miles, health, sustainability and the economy become more and more related, buying Australian made wherever possible will become a much more important criteria for purchase.
Australia has a great reputation for the quality of food made locally and many countries will pay a premium for Australian food products, yet locally we don’t always act the same way and worry too much about a small difference in price. As consumers, we often don’t appreciate the amazing benefits of buying a locally made product and the affect it has on local communities, particularly on employment.
If we compare two peanut butters as an example, and one contains peanuts from Australia and one from Argentina, we should expect to pay marginally more for a more sustainable, better quality product from Australia and be happy doing so. This in turn will help buyers to range a slightly higher dollar item knowing that it will generate the necessary sales. Can you imagine if we all did that, the affect on the Australian economy would be enormous.

Spun honey! We are all restocked just in time for winter wellness and for your elderberry syrup making!
We do NOT sell honey at the Tuesday Bedford Farmer’s Market because they have a honey vendor, but we have it here on the farm and will have it Thursday at the final business farmers market in town at a local employer.
If you are preordering from us we are happy to bring it to Bedford Tuesday for pickup with your order.
Salvador Preciado • St. Helena, CA
Salvador immigrated from El Grullo Jalisco, Mexico in the early 1970s. He began his journey in the vineyards working for Emmolo Nursery where he gained his grafting knowledge. He was able to start his own freelance grafting business in the mid ‘70s. In the 1980s, phylloxera infested many of the vines in Northern California, threatening its entire wine industry. For over ten years, Salvador and his crew played a crucial role in grafting over infected vines with resistant rootstock, preventing the collapse of the local grape production in Napa and Sonoma valleys. His incredible skills have taken him throughout the world’s most prominent wine regions, traveling to work in France, Spain, Italy and South America.
Salvador has raised his family in St. Helena, and over 40 years later is still grafting and consulting for some of the top wineries in the area. Not only is he a master and pioneer grafter, but he is a highly respected man in his community and the wine industry as a whole. 🌱
We decided to homeschool the boys this year..specifically unschool. I want to thank Wayne because this is the biggest honor and blessing and I am so excited to learn with the boys through many life experiences. I am excited to soak them up, and it melts my heart that they are equally excited for this journey. They want a schoolhouse in the trees so that is what we will build for them. We found the perfect sign today while antique shopping. 🌻
