Money will make things easier but it won't make you happier🤑 Money should be the result of your happiness and hard work😀 Happiness is the real currency in life, money is only secondary.⠀

Did you know that taking care of your money is another form of self-care? 🧘🏻♀️ Running on that hamster wheel just to pay the bills is NOT self care. Using your money as a tool to live life on YOUR terms is a much better alternative. 💪
You’re working hard, every single day. Make sure that you’re taking care of yourself: physically, mentally, emotionally, and FINANCIALLY! 🤑
This is me. Jessica Durbin. The face behind Durbin Bookkeeping & Tax Preparation. I want you all to know that I am just like you. I am crazy busy. My family is my priority and I feel like 24 hours a day is not enough time to do everything I set out to do each day. ⠀
Everyone needs help sometimes. I had to learn that for myself after having my second daughter. I can’t do it all. ⠀
If you fall under the category of not having enough time to organize your office or your financial life... call me. ⠀
💰Teach Teens Financial Responsibility💳
Help your teenagers learn about #money management now. Establish their financial literacy, understanding and stability early. #finlit
▶︎Make the most of 'teachable moments'- For example, when out #shopping , discuss your shopping habits and why you make your choices.
▶︎Provide hands-on experience- have your teenager make the grocery list for the week. At the store, they'll see how much of an #expense it can be.
▶︎Model money monitoring- Discuss with your teen their list of expenditures for the week.
▶︎Introduce the concept of plastics- determine if they are mature enough for a debit card.
▶︎Talk freely about the future- what are their plans after high school? It's never too early to discuss saving for retirement.

WHAT DO YOU DO WITH YOU LOOSE CHANGE?? Probably nothing right!
Maybe it builds up in your purse or in your car.
If you are really organised you put it in a jar, and then take it to the bank to switch it up into ‘proper’ money.
Well, with micro-investing pennies really can become pounds, and even better friends, in most cases it requires ZERO EFFORT. 💁♀️ When I started my finance career at 26, I barely had $25 to spare at the end of the month, never mind 25k which is what I would have needed to open an investment platform.
I remember thinking (even as someone in the industry)
This will never be me.
I will never have this much money.
Investing is out of my league
Well chicks, the rise of FINTECH (financial technology) means that the clever techy people 🤓 have started to build apps that allow us to save or invest on the regs.
My @monzo debit card lets me do the following: 💰Round my purchases up to the nearest $ and automatically move the excess pennies into savings
💰I can link my card to my Fitbit and save a 1$ every time 💰I hit my step goal (hello fit and rich!!!)
💰I can set my card to ’tax’ me every time I use it for fast food! And sends more money to savings! 💰 I can create specific savings pots for different short term goals
Now…aint no one going to be as rich as @beyonce by saving pennies… BUT if you feel like you don't know how to begin, or you are starting from zero, this is an easy step to take in your journey from FINANCIAL FRAUD to FINANCIALLY FREE! 🤩🤩
”I just graduated college with $100,000 in debt”, yeah people clap celebrate and even hug you. 🎉⠀
“I just got a loan for $400,000 to buy my first home”, yeah people clap celebrate and even hug you. 🏡 ⠀
“I just got a loan for $40,000 for a new car”, yeah people clap celebrate and even hug you. 🚗 ⠀
That’s $540,000 in total debt most people are living in(add a few hundred thousand for those living in Southern California), but they are feeling good about it because they are being celebrated for it. ⠀
Now, go tell those same people you spent a few hundred dollars to start your own business...⠀
“Whoa, are you sure?” ⠀
“What are you going to do if it doesn’t work?” ⠀
“Umm.. I don’t think those things really work” ⠀
“Do you think you can get your money back?”⠀
Picture a bucket full of crabs with no lid... the crabs never escape the bucket. The moment a crab tries to get out of the bucket, the other crabs pull it back down. ⠀
Pay attention to who you are surrounding yourself with and who is speaking into your life. ⠀ #repost@kelleydickerhoof

Why?? Decision tools! See how quickly you could pay off the debt without creating taxable income for yourself (cashing out 401k = taxable income) OR taking away that power of compounding by eliminating the 401k balance.
Only you can decide if the peace of mind from paying off debt is worth the sacrifice of your retirement account. In general, it’s not a great idea.

The truth is that most of us make healthy choices regarding our physical and emotional wellness, but are we doing the same regarding our finances? How are we managing our finances? Anyone thought about Financial wellness yet? Welcome to Wellness Tuesday.
I read somewhere this morning that being in control of your Finances is a great stress reliever, how true is this? Would good financial state reduce stress? It is also believed that Financial wellness plays a crucial part of our lives, but are we actually taking this into consideration daily? Sometimes, employees feel the burden and believes employers must support them financially, let’s face it, can this be always possible? 🤔
So, let us bring it back to reality. Do you always feel stressed out with panic attacks when you think about money? Do you always have series of unusual thoughts and emotions when you are stranded? As parents, do you have series of depressive episodes when it is almost time for school fees to be paid? Speak with a professional today! .
Although Finances might not alleviate everyday stress, but we know it can help lay foundation for a happy Life. As Parents and Adults, we must be able to recognise our creative abilities and find ways to expand our knowledge and skills. We must also be able to develop a reasonable budget, live within it and this most importantly cost effective.
How would you rate your Financial wellness? .
In case you missed it, for those who are applying for a home loan: banks are looking at your habits-- from Uber Eats to gambling.
Lenders need to establish that you, as the borrower, can afford the home loan repayments as well as a buffer to allow room for interest rate increases. So to improve your chances:
✅ Clear your credit card debts, buy-now-pay-later debts and other small debts – and then stay debt-free;
✅ Stay away from gambling, buy-now-pay-later, and food deliveries;
✅ Set up an automatic transfer from your everyday account into a savings account to show you’re disciplined and can afford repayments – and don’t touch the savings;
✅ Pay all your bills on time (this will help your credit score, too); and
✅ Check your credit score. Are there disputed items on your record? Clear them by talking to the biller. If there are genuine defaults, you might be able to prove to your lender you’re a changed person by being responsible from now on.

Hey everyone, the second half of the year is here which means it’s only a few months until tax season... ⠀
•Do you feel suffocated by your office space? ⠀
•Do you wait until the very last minute to get ready for your tax appointment?⠀
•Do you file an extension each year because you can’t seem to find the time to file your tax documents or even add your expenses up until the very last second? ⠀
***I can help you get all of that organized. I can help you lessen the stress of keeping up with your documents monthly. I can help you see where your money goes. I can get your office organized and start a system that works for you. With the new tax changes it’s so important that all of your work expenses are added up properly and you have everything in order in the case of an audit. I can help keep you on track and keep your financials a priority. It’s up to you to step out of your chaos. ⠀
Congratulations to WIRE for launching ‘My Money Toolkit’!🤗❤️ It’s such a practical and simple way to get anyone to kickstart the money conversation.
Even though the toolkit was designed to assist women in their 50s to start taking control over their finances but from my perspective🤷🏽♀️, many of us could benefit from it.
It offers a simple 12 step guide ☺️that allows us to be clear on what financial position we are in and where to go from there.
Sometime, it can may seem complicated or overwhelming when we think about money. But that’s ok. 😌When we start writing down what we know and have, it’s already a powerful step towards financial wellness. 💃Doing so, reveals our next steps.
Things are usually are more scary if it stays in our heads. 🤨But when we choose to take simple actions to get more clarity, 😌😊it gets easier and easier.
The look I make when someone says they don’t have debt, then tells me they “only” have a car payment... PSA peeps: if you owe money to ANYONE, you are in debt. No, I’m not talking like utility bills you pay every month...I’m talking about borrowed money.
This includes, but is not limited to: a car loan, student loans, credit cards, any friend or family member you borrowed money from, any doctor or hospital bills you may owe, even your cell phones you make monthly payments on...you don’t own it. It’s a debt.
Living debt-free is freedom. And it’s a JOURNEY.
Everyone’s different and some people don’t mind if they have debt. It doesn’t bother them. But for me I felt in my bones it was holding me back. Also leveraging borrowed money is dumb. That’s my opinion.
So before you listen to anyone else, or take their advice, I say listen to your intuition. What is their motive? Follow people who lift you up and inspire you to be better.
And if you’d really, really like to live debt-free IRL, make your way to themoneylifecoach.com and schedule your free 20-minute session with me to get started.
You’ve got this! 💰✅🌈🥂 #debtfree#moneyadvice#financialfreedom#moneylifecoach#financialwellness#moneymoneymoney#lifecoach#intentionalfinance#fpu#gettingoutofdebt#moneymotivation

Living Well, Daily.
It's more than a motto, it's a lifestyle choice.
Every day you are faced with so many decisions about how to live your life. What to eat, what to drink, how to interact with others in social situations...
And frankly, it's exhausting trying to set a goal to do all the things. So why not set a simpler goal? To try to live a life of holistic wellness every day.
-Giving credit where credit is due. Pat yourself on the back every time you make a decision that puts your wellness first. Don't give up. Don't argue with yourself about what does or doesn't count. Accept that you're a work in progress. You're trying, and that's the best you can do every day.
-Learn more about the dimensions of wellness: Physical, mental, social, spiritual, financial, intellectual, occupational, community, and environmental wellness. The more you know, the more you grow!
-Take your wellness seriously! Take time to show up for yourself. Don't get distracted. Don't put it off until "later", because usually "later" never happens.
-Focus on how your wellness will help those around you. We often help everyone else, but it's so hard to help ourselves. Take a moment to observe how your lack of wellness impacts those around you. When you know what you're slacking on, you can find ways to show up 💯.

Your summer has come to a close. It's time to say goodbye to your friends and head back to the dorm room to study.
Did you save up money from your summer job or are you going into the school year already relying on mom and dad?
What kind of financial tips would help you the most to start the year? Comment below and let us know!
While part of my body + mind haven’t quite returned from our weekend at this beautiful lake, the rest of me is feeling eager to dive head first back into work!
September and the rhythms of the fall (back to school, a second new year!😉) are close at hand.
I am getting excited to welcome another group to my LIVE round of Equipped to Thrive that starts September 9th.
I spent my morning sharpening the proverbial pencils (...once upon a time I thought I would be a classroom teacher...)
If you - like me - feel yourself between seasons, it’s ok to be with it: soaking up the spontaneity while turning towards routine.
We can be in all of it all at once. It doesn’t have to feel like an internal battle that requires one side to win. It can be both / and.

My face when I'm asked a version of this question from prospective clients, "Can't you just do this for me?" ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you are on my email list, you know my response: NO⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Not just because I'm not a financial planner and am not credentialed to do so, but because money issues usually aren't about money. I want to pull out my hair when I get this question because, in much of the personal-finance industry, we are sold the idea that a budget would save your problems. That an emergency fund will fix your stress. That a retirement account will quiet your anxiety. And they might, and they often do a little bit ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
90% of my work with financial therapy clients has NOTHING to do with managing their income and expenses.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It has to do with wrestling with worth and work.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It has to do with wondering whether or not their goals are achievable. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It has to do with stressing out about feeling restricted.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But it hardly has to do with the actual cashflow.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you've done budgeting apps, read personal finance books, and tried the envelope system but still feel like something else is wrong, it may be time to talk it out. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I'm here for you. I'm scheduling 1-time 90-minute consultations for people who are ready to open up and dig into the emotional side of money. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you're thinking about it, book now and do it soon. Prices go up after August 31st. Link in bio.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Reminiscing about our trip to Vegas for an incredible convention and weekend of learning and leadership training.
Find your tribe and love them hard. Surround yourself with people who have a common drive and vision. ... and find yourself a partner you can align with in every aspect of life - relationship, business, fitness, continuous learning - it’s amazing what a couple can do when they grow together 💖

We’re all just improv-ing through life and that's okay! You don't need to have everything figured out all at once. 🎨: @stacieswift
🌟 The ONE thing you NEED TO DO if you want to STICK TO YOUR BUDGET 🌟
I hear it from you guys all the time...
💥 "Danielle how do I know how much to allocate to 'x' category in my budget?"
💥 "How come I usually end up spending more than I budget for in 'y' category?"
💥 "How do I even START???"
Are you tired of just NOT KNOWING what to do? Well here's your very FIRST STEP when it comes to budgeting:
TRACK YOUR EXPENSES. 📝
You need to know what you're going into battle for before you commit to fighting the war. In other words... you need to know EXACTLY how much you're spending each month before you commit to a financial plan for yourself.
‼️👉🏼 If you know how much you're spending, you'll know how much to budget for it. 👈🏼‼️
Common sense, right? Well, if it's common sense... why aren't you doing it? 🤔
Spend the next 2 months keeping track of your expenses so you can build a better budget that is EASY to stick to.
1️⃣ Always take/keep your receipts after EVERY purchase (whether you paid with cash or card — doesn’t matter. Take your receipt!)
2️⃣ Assign each expense/receipt to a category (i.e. groceries, gas, entertainment, etc.)
3️⃣ At the end of the month, total up how much you spent in each category, based on your receipts.
4️⃣ Repeat steps 1-3 for the second month.
If the total spent in each category is around the same amount for both months, now you know how much to allocate in your budget categories moving forward.
If the totals are way different, track your expenses for a third month. Your totals in the third month should align more closely with either month 1 or month 2, and that's how you'll know how much to allocate for each category.
What other questions do you have? What can I help you with? Let me know in the comments or send me a DM with “🤔” and we’ll chat!

kicking my feet back, because the @Prudential experience at 29Rooms gave me a lot of perspective about continuing to plan for my financial future! it’s not an overnight success story, which is something i learned early on. i’ve been setting money aside and investing each year for the past 7 years and i know that every little bit counts! some years i can set aside more than other years, and that’s okay. the important thing is to plan and make sure money is being set aside long term, because it will come in handy during retirement. some years you may not have the best financial situation, but Prudential provides various tools for tackling financial planning and challenges because we know some years saving money and planning for the future isn’t easy, but it’s something we have to work at all of our life. i’m definitely a numbers girl (only when the numbers are going into my bank account!) and i do a lot of arbitrary math once or twice a year to try to estimate if i’ll be a multi-millionaire by retirement. set yourself up for financial success! #financialwellness#29Rooms#ad
