@thelaminimalist talked about this not too long ago—life is like a buffet. There are going to be things that you like and put onto your plate at the buffet, and what you like and take will probably be totally different than what your loved ones will like and take... and that’s okay! You can appreciate that buffets have a wide variety for everyone and that there are some things at the buffet that will never interest you but that nonetheless can and should still exist for others to take and enjoy. I explained this logic in my last post because I treat Dave Ramsey like a buffet—I like some of his teachings but can happily do without some of it too, but that doesn’t mean I need him to change what he’s offering. He is who he is, and I am who I am. I’ll just take what I like from the Dave buffet and keep it moving. This also applies to any other concept, really. I have values and interests that are completely different than some of you reading this, and we all have to learn to respect other people’s choices. The beauty with the buffet analogy is that we can also set boundaries and say, “Hey, don’t try to put that onto my plate; I’m allergic, or I just don’t like it!” What other people put onto their plate may be SUPER important to them and they won’t be able to fathom how you won’t want it on your plate too. You may be guilty of this with others too. I have a colleague at work who is SUPER passionate about veganism... but it’s not his business what people put on their plates (literally this time). I’ve been too evangelical about minimalism and frugality with some friends and family; but it’s also none of my business what people choose to do with their own plates. Focus on your own plate 🍽

In our last post we promised to show you what having your $1000 saved can do. Before we start, we have a correction from the first post. According to gobankingrates.com " 57% of Americans don't even have $1000 saved up". .
Now that we covered that let's get into what could happen and how that $1000 put up is going to save you stress, time and money!!!!
Let's go over 3 major what we call "Life happens events" that affect us all.
1. Emergency plane ticket
3.New Tires $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
What happens when we don't have the funds?
Answer:We use our credit cards, which isn't an issue unless you can't pay the balance before the due date.
Car repair and new tires combined can run you into the thousands so that $1000 saved pays off!!! When you have to take and unexpected trip, same day at times it can be pricey. $1000 saved keeps you from heartbreak and not taking the flight.
We can work with you to find at least $100-150 per month to work your way up to your $1000. It can be done!! Dm us for our appointment schedule. We'd love you work with you to get results.
Joining the #dfc has already inspired me. I spent some money last night with friends, so decided today to sit down and run the numbers. WHAT IF I wanted to be #debtfreeby30 ? What would that take in 16 months? .
I have a fixed, steady income. I added up my total debts, and then subtracted about 3 paychecks (I’ll have 3 more “3 paycheck months” before I turn 30). Then I divided that number by the 16 remaining months. $2,300 a month would kill my debt. .
That sounded impossible. Over $1,000 a paycheck? Lol. But then I added up all my fixed expenses per month - not including streaming services or travel, but yes including setting aside money each month for car registration. The final result? I would be able to hit that number with $396 leftover each month for variable expenses (food, gas, presents, travel, streaming services, household supplies, donations, gym). .
Is it just me, or does that number seem.... possible? Difficult for me, maybe, but possible. I could be #debtfree at 30 years old. I’m curious if others have been successful with this, and how it’s gone? This would be without any side-incomes. And to be fair, I’m not fully accounting for interest... but I still think I can do it???? Big commitment. Should I? Is it worth it? .
For context: I have spent $792 and counting on these expenses so far this month. And we still have two weeks left. And I’m spending less than normal this month. .

Dave Ramsey always talks about this and it always stays in my mind. It’s so true. Imagine what you could do if you were debt free. Imagine how many people you could help and how much you could save for your future and your kids future and build a great family tree. I cannot wait. We are taught in America to borrow, borrow, borrow. Let’s do the opposite and save and give #debtfreejourney#debtfreecommunity#financialfreedom#financialgoals

Did you know you have unique skills, gifts, passions, hobbies, and talents that the world needs?
Not only should you share it with the world, but can make some money getting paid to do so.
It’s ok to want to be rich. 💰🤑⠀
I grew up believing rich people were snobs. That they really weren’t happy.⠀
I was told that waning money was selfish.⠀
But let me ask you, is wanting a family vacation selfish? Wanting your kids to go to a good college?⠀
Is it selfish to want to be able to give to others in need without stress?⠀
How about that feeling of not living paycheck to paycheck? Would that be so terrible?⠀
There is a major difference between greed and wealth.l and a big part of it is your mindset around money.⠀
Living in a scarcity mindset will leave you always feeling::..broke.⠀
Truth is, I have met more people in my life who are broke and OBSESSED with money ... they constantly talk about not having enough.⠀
Then there are those who take vacations, have solid 401Ks and give to people when they need it.⠀
Crazy thing is those 2 different kinds of people could be making the SAME salary.⠀
It’s all in money management and mindset, folks.⠀
So if you are feeling more like the BROKE version of this...I got your back.⠀
There is a new course I’ll be launching soon and you can join the waitlist to get in on it before anyone else!⠀
Help me help you! 😉...and bonus points if you can name that movie 🍿⠀ #funsizedquotes#moneymindset ⠀

I joined the #debtfreecommunity back in July 2018, though I have had several pauses in between. Today, I have decided once again to add up my starting debts since I began my debt free journey. This time, I included the personal loan that I took for my dad under my name (which I still heavily regret) last October. It's a slow progress because I'm also saving as much as I can during baby step 2 and I don't really plan on being gazelle intense, as I wish to pay myself as well. Here we go.
Oh, parents! 👫I’ve been seeing all your beautiful, touching, and tear-jerking posts about your kids going off to college. 🧳 I’m proud of you and you can be proud of yourselves that you’ve successfully encouraged them to continue their education in college. You’ve poured into them for 18 years, now it’s time for you to celebrate and watch them soar! 🎉~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It’s also your opportunity to trust in the Lord with all your heart! 🙏Trust Him for their protection spiritually, physically and emotionally. And many of you are trusting God financially💰 for the next 4 years! He is faithful. He can be trusted. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So sings songs of joy! 🎶 Trust God to be your son or daughter’s strength 💪🏽and shield. 🎚 God helps you, and God helps your children. Go ahead. Allow yourself to burst out in songs of thanksgiving 🗣 🎵 for all that God will do in the next 4 years! (And it’s okay to shed a tear or two 😢because you will miss seeing them around the house. That’s normal.) #collegedays#backtoschool#confidence#parentgoals#collegegoals#financialgoals#hecanbetrusted#melodyboxinspires#spiritualgoals
For the first nearly 12 years of my marriage, I was a stay-at-home mom and loved every second of being, not only my children's first teacher but, being available for them whenever they needed me. Once they were all in school, I focused on bettering myself, which led me to the field of education. And now, I have a new purpose...creating a legacy for them and those that will come after them. Helping others repair their credit and create a legacy of their own has also become my mission and I'd like to help YOU.
My client came a long way! She finally about to buy her house. My part was easy. She did the hard part. Maintaining and keep her credit up! I’m so proud her💜

At the beginning of 2019, I set a list of goals. One goal was to payoff my one student loan with Nelnet. I have ACHIEVED that goal! 🥳🥳 The next goal was to pay off at least $15,000 to my student loans. 7 months down and my progress is better than expected! 🥳🥳 I will exceed this goal and pay MORE THAN $15,000 to my student loans this calendar year! I am SO excited! This is why I set goals. So I can SMASH them!
Did you set any #goals for 2019? What is your #progress towards those goals? Comment below and share with all of the #DFC because we are all here to support and uplift! #debtfreecommunity#debtfreejourney#personalfinance#studentloans#studentloanssuck#support#community#uplift
