Only me can change the way I feel about this body, and slowly I’m learning to love it. The problem is that I have never really loved my body. When growing up I always felt like the ugly, fat and too tall. Because that’s what society thought me.
Today I look at pictures of me, when I felt ugly and all those things, and I can see how beautiful I was and wish I had never felt that way.
So today, today I am working on erasing those thoughts. I’m working on loving my body no matter how it looks. Working on being more body positive and admired those who have reached that point, those who are working on achieving it and those who have the will to do so.
No matter what size, what number is in the scale, no matter what others think: ALWAYS LOVE YOURSELF.
It’s not easy, but it’s not impossible.

Todays cool morning felt perfect for apple pie stuffed crepes!! My beauties are #glutenfree but you can make them like a regular human if your life isnt sad like mine ;) Apple pie filling
Melt 3 tbsp butter
3 chopped apples sauteed until soft
Add 3 tbsp brown sugar
1 to 2 tsp epicure apple pie spice

Alivia and I had a girls day, plus Noah. We did a little shopping (groceries, only 😉), got some popeyes chicken, and sang 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐝 in the car on the way to Dubuque and back. It was a good day.🥰

These days I fall more in love with him when I see the pride on his face when Tuck takes the field, when Maria’s whole world lights up when he walks in the door, and when he unloads the dishwasher before I get home from work!😂

If it doesn’t taste good or if it’s not satisfying -I can’t help but to ✌️out. Then goals are not met because my body isn’t getting the fuel it needs.
It’s hard to eat the same foods all the time. I get bored and this puts me back in the same old predicament.

Today's run was GLORIOUS. The weather was perfect, I chose a beautiful trail, and it felt amazing.
Do you ever take time to slow down and just breathe? Twice a week, I use active recovery days to check in with my body.
These 20 minute sessions slow things down to focus on flexibility, balance and mentally resetting.
I can check in with myself. Remind myself why I’m doing this and what my goals are and recommit if I’m struggling.
This week, I’m feeling a little drained and I noticed that I have pretty tight hamstrings so I’m going to take a look at my schedule for the week and make sure I’m able to get to bed on time to get more rest and also look at where I can improve on my eats and water intake to help keep my energy up. I’ll also be doing some extra stretching and foam rolling to help loosen up those hammies.

You really can’t go wrong with a salad, especially as how there’s so much variety at the store for salads!! I’ve tried some new to me, including a butter lettuce, hearts of romaine, Caesar, and iceberg. This particular salad mix came with romaine lettuce, carrots, and cabbage. I added some breaded chicken pieces I prepped, and homemade ranch (only 21 calories! 🥳). Being a picky eater, I never thought I would be a salad eater!! What other toppings do you add to your salads? 🥗

Yesterday we had a great day visiting the Statue of Liberty! We did so much walking around! One of the best parts about the day is that we got to walk around and explore not only the Statue of Liberty, but Ellis Island too. .
During our visit, we had the option to take the elevator many times, and a lot of those times we opted for the steps. Why? Because every bit of movement, big or small, adds up! And when we sneak in tidbits of small activities and movements here and there throughout the day, we are creating more ways to burn calories and to stay fit. .
Here are some ways I sneak in extra activities throughout the day. You can try them too! . .
. -Opt for the stairs!
Where there is an elevator, you will find steps close by. Climb them! It’s quick, and it will get easier with repetition. Before you know it, it will become a habit!
- Choose a parking spot in the last spot in the far parking lot- then walk.
- Do jumping jacks or planks in between commercials when you are watching tv.
- Pump up the music while you are cooking and have a dance party with yourself or your kids(my girls love this one).

What’s your favorite dip? I am a lover of all dips and enjoy making them when people come over. I love this easy one made with 1 cup of Greek yogurt and 1 tbsp of Ol SmokeTea mix. Perfect for veggies and pretzel chips...and our bbq later!
Phew 😅! I wasn’t sure if I would wake up on time this morning to workout—even with my alarms ⏰ set.
I didn’t get to bed until after midnight 🕛, and Samuel woke up crying 😢 at one point after that. I think he’s having growing pains. Poor baby! And as you can see, I fell asleep 😴 with my makeup 💄 on. I know it’s not good, but my nightly routine was off because I stayed up to get all my syllabi ready! •BUT•
I was out of bed by 4:45! I honestly was just going to get 3️⃣0️⃣ minutes in and call it a day because I still have more work to do to prepare for classes. #CollegeInstructorLife But, my body and mind said otherwise!
I got in 4.4 miles! I did a mile of walking 🚶♀️, followed by what I call 1-3-5-7 intervals. Basically, I do a ratio of 1:1 run/walk for a mile. Then a ratio of 3:1 for the next mile, and so on. If you’re a math person, you will see that on my 7 interval, I didn’t do a whole mile. Lol 😂. I actually could have done more, but I do have to actually get some work in!
This got me thinking about something #JohnMaxwell said-and I’m paraphrasing (I think 🤔). “If you live today like no one else, you will live like no one else tomorrow.” (Of course, he’s referring to financial stability 💰, but it applies to other aspects of life as well!) In other words, what you do in the present will set you up for the future!
I had a conversation with a girl today that said she wanted to start a business and be her own boss. She told me she didn’t want to have to answer to anyone or ask anyone for a day off if she needed it.
BUT.......then she told me $160 was too much of an investment!
Really?? Cause I am sooo glad that I made this investment in myself!
Today, I am my own boss!! I am on vacation with my boys right now, in the sunny Okanagan, lounging in the sun on the beach. I am able to be home with my boys while they are young, homeschool them, and spend these precious moments together that go by way too fast! And I’m able to contribute to our family’s income from home, or while on vacation, working my own hours in the pockets of time around my family life.
Where else can you start a business that will give you the tools to get in the best shape of your life, that you can work on the side with unlimited income potential? For $160?? Lol!
That’s called a “no brainer” in my book!
Even if I never made a penny, what I have gained in other ways (friendship, confidence, purpose, better health and fitness, and soon travel) would be worth $160 a million times over.

🔆Full Body Friday🔆
📌Due to physical limitations, my workouts will now be body weight only and modified to accommodate these limitations.
📌I’m excited to discover new workouts that will use different equipment that is not weight bearing. Sliders, bender ball, physio ball, ladders, jump rope, bands and box. I’ll still be using the #trx but mainly for mobility and stability training.
For today’s workout I used some balls. My music dictates the tempo of my moves and sometimes there are dance breaks😉
30 sec work
10 sec rest/as needed/dance breaks
Squeeze, push through the heels, tuck or straighten where needed. You can add weights if you want, you can do without the balls if you need to or modify even more if needed. Just have fun and dance it out!

I want everything for my baby girl! 💖💖
She is so strong and independent. She does what she wants when she wants to. ⠀⠀
I always want her to know that she is beautiful, confident and strong and never question that.
It hasn’t always been easy for me. Before I started this journey I had horrible self image and had no confidence. I thought it was all about being skinny and fitting into the thought that I had to weigh less than 140 lbs in order to be beautiful, I know sounds stupid but it was grained in my head that beautiful meant skinny and now I know different. ⠀⠀
I know that beautiful isn’t a number on the scale or the size dress you wear it’s about how you feel in your skin and how you feel bursting with all sorts of confidence!
Why are my weights 2 different colors?? Glad you asked!! 😁😁 Last night I was helping one of my new weight loss challengers pick out weights and I told her this story.... 5 years ago I made a decision to go all in and lose weight, after trying a few things I realized I was going to have to work for it. I was going to have to invest in myself and that's when I discovered the in home workout programs that I do now.

Pressed play...SURPRISE! I need weights to do the exercise! 😟 Run to Walmart and buy a weight. (I'm sure y'all are smarter than me and already know where I went wrong with this). Came home to workout and turns out I have 2 arms so I'd need 2 weights!! ROOKIE!! 🤦♀️🤦♀️😂😂 I went back the next day and they didn't have a 5# weight in the same color. So that's why they don't match!
So these mismatched weights remind me that we all START SOMEWHERE!! We all make mistakes! And we learn from them! I now know I have 2 arms and need 2 dumbbells. 😂😂😂 You're not expected to be an expert when you start something new. You just have to be BRAVE enough to start and BRAVE enough to continue even when you make mistakes!
If you think, I would love to workout, lose weight, and be in shape but working out is just not my thing. I don't know what i'm doing! It's just not your thing now!
Take it from me, the girl with the mismatched weights.... you'll learn! But you have to start to be able to give yourself the chance to learn!

I love the way my husband is a dad!! He takes our children on adventures into the woods - as the kids will say! ..

#flashbackfriday to the girl on the left who band aid her migraines and tiredness with pain meds and crappy energy drinks. This girl also thought being skinny was healthy 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ Fast forward to now... wise Zohra... recently went to see the doctor for headaches and long overdue yearly checkup... came to find I was not getting enough iron and potassium hence the constant headaches!
Although I knew that the headaches was from something in the lack of what I was eating... I didn’t mask it like I would have with popping pills constantly instead I dug deeper into what could help in the long run. Drinking more water, making better food choices, tracking the food I eat to see what is different, and listening to my body.
It’s crazy what a simple mindset shift with your health journey can do to help you with long term results, not focusing so much on just losing weight, and looking like what society thinks what women should look like.
Just the way we admire the different phases of the moon we should do the same with our bodies and the phases we go through in our life.

My water broke at home at 4:36pm and she was in my arms by 6:22pm weighing 6 lbs. 14 Oz and 19.5 in .

Meal prep done a day late! Mother’s Day had me out of my rhythm. This one was pretty simple because I had to do it on a Monday. I made a giant salad for dinner, and used the leftover for 4 lunch salads, threw nitrate free deli turkey in for my protein. I had veggies chopped from yesterday in the fridge, and I packaged up some peanut butter and rice cakes. I always want a little sweet after lunch so I made some cups with 70% dark chocolate and some almonds. As always, dinner is not pictured because I make it fresh each night. 30 minute meal prep here! Start small, keep it simple!

B: 1 ❤️ vegan chocolate shakeology, 1 💙 1/4 frozen avocado, 1/2 💜 banana, 1 🥄 coconut milk
L: 2 💚 romaine, tomatoes, cabbage, 1 ❤️ deli turkey
