Like I told @demonchasing_, today was a mf’n GOOD DAY 👏🏻🙌🏻 Where do I even begin?! I’m on such a high right now 🙃
Today started with the @s2faction customer appreciation event. While I didn’t get there as early as I wanted (turned out I need more than 2 hours of sleep after working a 12hr nightshift, who knew?!), I still made the most of the hour that I had there. Today was 2 weeks since my first InBody scan (more about that below) so I got that taken care of right away. The rest of the time was spent (unintentionally- this just shows how great they are) at the @1stPhorm tent where I met @taylorfrazierfit and @steven_befit. AND I got to meet my biggest motivation/inspiration @bellahlosing. I can’t speak highly enough about these people and these two companies - the unwavering support they give and the fact that they actually CARE about their customer(s), what they can do to help them and building relationships with them. You’ll never find anything better, I PROMISE you that. •
Moving on to the InBody scan. I mentioned how I was nervous about it yesterday just because I know I didn’t eat enough food this week nor did I get adequate sleep every single day. I’m proud to say I still saw significant changes! While I’m said to say I lost 0.5lb of muscle, I’m THRILLED with everything else. Down a total of 5.3lbs, 4.2 of that being pure fat. BMI down 0.5 and body fat percentage down 0.5%. And all the percentages for the segmental lean analysis are up too (a good thing)! Initially I was going to give myself a rest day today but I’m so happy/excited/motivated that I’m gonna get some cardio in. I picked up Opti-Reds, Blueberry Muffin Level-1 and meals from @cleaneatzkitchen - I’M READY. 👏🏻🏃🏼♀️ #BREEABOUTIT
What’s best for weight loss? CARDIO or WEIGHT TRAINING?
It’s true that during a cardio session you can burn more calories than lifting weight but lifting weights is more effective at building muscles 💪🏻 and the muscle are burning calories, even at rest. This is the reason why lifting weights to build muscle is the key to improve your resting metabolism (how many calories you burn while resting). Plus EPOC (excess postexercise oxygen consumption) which is the calories you burn in the hours following a session are more if you lift weights than if you do cardio, of course this depends on the intensity of the workout and duration. Anyhow, it is important for you to know that both, cardio and weight training are good for a healthy and fit lifestyle, plus the best results are when you combine them both. ❤️ .

It is a summer afternoon in August.
I am standing on a wooden pontoon, looking out
At the lake through a tall screen of evergreens,
Or rather, looking out across the plane of the lake,
Seeing the light shaking upon the water
As if it were a shimmering of heat.
Yesterday, when I sat here, it was the same,
The same displaced out-of-season effect.
Seen twice it seemed a truth was being told.
Some of the trees I can see across the lake
Have begun to change, but it is as if the air
Had entirely given itself over to summer,
With the intention of denying its own proper nature.
There is a breeze perfectly steady and persistent
Blowing in toward shore from the other side
Or from the world beyond the other side.
The mild sound of the little tapping waves
The breeze has caused—there’s something infantile
About it, a baby at the breast. The light
Is moving and not moving upon the water.
The breeze picks up slightly but still steadily,
The increase in the breeze becomes the mild
Dominant event, compelling with sweet oblivious
Authority alterations in light and shadow,
Alterations in the light of the sun on the water,
Which becomes at once denser and more quietly
Excited, like a concentration of emotions
That had been dispersed and scattered and now were not.
Then there’s the mitigation of the shadow of a cloud,
And the light subsides a little, into itself.
Although this is a lake it is as if
A tide was running mildly into shore.
The sound of the water so softly battering
Against the shore is decidedly sexual,
In its liquidity, its regularity,
Its persistence, its infantile obliviousness.
It is as if it had come back to being
A beginning, an origination of life.
The plane of the water is like a page on which
Phrases and even sentences are written,
But because of the breeze, and the turning of the year,
And the sense that this lake water, as it is being
Experienced on a day, comes from
Some source somewhere, beneath, within, itself,
Or from somewhere else, nearby, a spring, a brook,
Its pure origination somewhere else,
It is like an idea for a poem not yet written
And maybe never to be completed, because
The surface of the page is like lake water

Can’t wait to look back on this photo in a year. Hopefully there will be a solid transformation? This was a week ago. A week ago I could dead lift only 45LB.
