I had a dream a while back and from this dream it inspired a story we used for a puppet show. Imagine that! Looking back I still ponder this dream.
In my dream I am in a forest looking at a hard and very dry, crunchy, dead leaf covered ground.
I am with a small group of others and we are realizing we need to build a fire as night is fast approaching.. We see that lighting a fire here would be dangerous without some kind of stone barrier. Oddly we can only acquire stones for this on the top of a nearby mountain. I then realize that all of us are in bare feet! We will need proper foot protection to go up the mountain. I go searching nearby for footwear and come across a kitten sleeping in a closed glass doorway. I carefully go through the door (obviously because I don’t want to disturb a sleeping kitten). I don’t remember much after that other than looking through a cluttered house. I don’t remember finding shoes but I do vaguely remember climbing a mountain.
That’s basically it and from some of the details of the dream we were able to put on a pretty fabulous and funny puppet show in downtown Nanaimo. Funny how a dream can lead to something like that!
But it’s dreams like this that so inspire me and teach me. From this dream I am reminded of other things. Going up to collect rocks
reminds me of Moses going up the mountain for the commandment tablets. I’ve had other such themed dreams. Like one where stone tablets were half buried in a field. I dig them up and sit cross legged reading them. The language on them is apparently angelic but I am able to translate the words. People who are actually soldiers in training begin to gather around and listen to what I am saying. Nearby there was a fire pit with stacks of newspapers ready to be burned.
Interesting to me the corresponding elements - rock and the making of a fire - in both dreams.
I am also reminded of Jesus going into the hills to pray. Such a powerful example for us to follow with eternal implications. Us being face to face with our heavenly Father. Here we see importance of time by ourselves. Where fruits of Spirit are grown. This is where we build healthy boundaries in our lives and with
He songs vs me songs
These days there many worship songs that revolve around healing, brokeness, pain, forgiveness... you know, about life. I use many of these types of songs during my sets as well, and you know why? Because when God does something in our lives, He is glorified. When I become more myself (as opposed to a copy of someone else), He is glorified!
Having said that, in this season I am so hungry for songs that are just about Him! About His beauty, His holiness, His glory... you know, ‘as it is in heaven’. I want to be cautious to not worship God for what we can get from Him, but for what we can give to Him... #offeringofworship
Why are we so angry, taking our frustrations out on others? Why don’t we think of anyone beyond ourselves? People are hurting! Each action, good or bad, touches many lives, the upright and the immoral. Behaviors and the resulting atmospheres clearly define those of faith versus nonbelievers and skeptics. God allows disbelief to lead to contempt, but he also offers true peace to those who cling to Him, regardless of the evil sent their way. Faith is powerful in this wicked climate. Choose to trust Him and allow His peace to wash over you. It’s okay to stand out and be different. Faith is beautiful!
PATTERNS AND PROMISES
“And you shall make bars of acacia wood: five for the boards on one side of the tabernacle, five bars for the boards on the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the side of the tabernacle, for the far side westward. The middle bar shall pass through the midst of the boards from end to end. You shall overlay the boards with gold, make their rings of gold as holders for the bars, and overlay the bars with gold. And you shall raise up the tabernacle according to its PATTERN which you were shown on the mountain. - Exodus 26:26-30 #thebookofexodus .
And behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east. His voice was like the sound of many waters; and the earth shone with His glory. And the glory of the Lord came into the temple by way of the gate which faces toward the east. The Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court; and behold, the glory of the Lord filled the temple. And He said to me, “Son of man, this is the place of My throne and the place of the soles of My feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel forever. No more shall the house of Israel defile My holy name, they nor their kings, by their harlotry or with the carcasses of their kings on their high places.“ Son of man, describe the temple to the house of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their iniquities; and let them measure the PATTERN. This is the law of the temple: The whole area surrounding the mountaintop is most holy. Behold, this is the law of the temple. - Ezekiel 43:2,4-5,7,10,12 .
Now this is the main point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, a Minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord erected, and not man. For if He were on earth, He would not be a priest, since there are priests who offer the gifts according to the law; who serve the copy and shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For He said, “See that you make all things according to the PATTERN shown you on the mountain.” - Hebrews 8:1-2,4-5
A spontaneous vision of rest created during a quiet moment while the kids tried their hand at an art lesson in their homeschool course. I began the picture by mixing a green i didn't quite like Ann's was planning to do an impressionist picture off my kids painting impressionist p pictures. Oddly as i painted the green paint shirt Xakira was wearing it didn't go quite as in planned and ended up looking like a headland... which then led to the rest of the details gradually appearing. And finished up as a symbol of where my soul has found itself since last Sunday afternoon.
Reading through Isaiah over the past 6 weeks, and planning to share with our home church i had discovered a song called the Isaiah song. One particular line stood out to my heart. "Do not fear! I will be your song" .
After many years of wrestling - a long, disturbing soul journey i have been on, Somehow last Sunday began a healing process, and during the early hours of Monday i had a revelation which resolved the unrest. .He was my song again. 💜
To be holy means to be set apart or separate from sin & evil. God is holy, completely separate from everything that is evil (1 Jn 1:5). God calls us to be holy, just as He is (1 Pet 1:16, quoting Lev 19:2), but it’s vital to understand that apart from God this is impossible. We must have the Holy Spirit indwelling us & filling us w/His holiness. We can only live a holy life through the power of the Spirit; thus, the 1st step to living a holy life is to accept Jesus as Savior (Eph 1:13). Once we have taken that step of salvation, we are declared righteous (Rom 5:1). But what does it look like to be actually righteous, to live a holy life? In 1 Thess 4:3–8, Paul emphasizes sexual purity as part of holy living: “It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control your own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the pagans, who do not know God” (v 3–5). Beyond avoiding sexual immorality & keeping sex w/in God’s design for marriage, we can live a holy life by being obedient to God in all areas of life (1 Pet 1:14–16). Knowing & obeying God’s Word is key (Jn 17:17). Hiding God’s Word in our hearts keeps us from sin (Psa 119:11). When we live in obedience to God, we are staying separate from evil. We are offering our bodies as “living sacrifices” to God (Rom 12:1–2). The purpose of living a holy life is to glorify God & display His nature to those around us (Mat 5:16). Living a holy life of obedience to God is living in true freedom from the bondage of sin (Rom 6:6). It’s not always easy to choose obedience to God, especially if we’re trying to do it all on our own. Satan would love nothing more than to bring us back into bondage through disobedience. But we have the promise, “You, dear children, are from God & have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world” (1 Jn 4:4). The Holy Spirit will produce Christlikeness in us, &, as we yield to Him, we can live a holy life (Gal 5:16). Here is the mindset we should have:(Cont⬇️) #holy#holyspirit#Jesus#God#Savior#holyholyholy#Godalmighty#whowasandistocome#bible

The phrase “holy, holy, holy” appears twice in the Bible, once in the OT (Isa 6:3) & once in the NT (Rev 4:8). Both times, the phrase is spoken or sung by heavenly creatures, and both times it occurs in the vision of a man who was transported to the throne of God: 1st by the prophet Isaiah and then by the apostle John. Before addressing the 3 fold repetition of God’s holiness, it’s important to understand what exactly is meant by God’s holiness. The holiness of God is the most difficult of all God’s attributes to explain, partly because it is one of His essential attributes that is not shared, inherently, by man. We are created in God’s image, and we can share many of His attributes, to a much lesser extent, of course, love, mercy, faithfulness, etc. But some of God’s attributes, such as omnipresence, omniscience, and omnipotence, will never be shared by created beings. Similarly, holiness is not something that we will possess as an inherent part of our nature; we only become holy in relationship to Christ. It is an imputed holiness. Only in Christ do we “become the righteousness of God” (2Cor 5:21). God’s holiness is what separates Him from all other beings, what makes Him separate and distinct from everything else. God’s holiness is more than just His perfection or sinless purity; it is the essence of His “other-ness,” His transcendence. God’s holiness embodies the mystery of His awesomeness and causes us to gaze in wonder at Him as we begin to comprehend just a little of His majesty. Isaiah was a firsthand witness of God’s holiness in his vision described in Isa 6. Even though Isaiah was a prophet of God and a righteous man, his reaction to the vision of God’s holiness was to be aware of his own sinfulness and to despair for his life (Isa 6:5). Even the angels in God’s presence, those who were crying, “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty,” covered their faces and feet with four of their 6 wings. Covering the face and feet no doubt denotes the reverence and awe inspired by the immediate presence of God (Exo 3:4–5).(Cont⬇️) #bible#holy#truth#holyspirit#returnofjesus#love#worship#holyholyholy

Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor, and thanks to the one who sits on the throne, to the one who lives forever and ever, the 24 leaders bow in front of the one who sits on the throne and worship the one who lives forever and ever. They place their crowns in front of the throne and say,
“Our Lord and God, you deserve to receive glory, honor, and power because you created everything.
Everything came into existence and was created because of your will.”
- Revelation 4:9-11
