It can be easier to just settle for the daily monotonous routine of the lives we create, but there is always more out there to see, learn, experience and grow from.

I am so excited (and nervous) for this school year! It’s my daughter’s last year as a lower elementary student (2nd); and, it’s my son’s first year as a “big kid” (4th). I am so incredibly proud of them both! I’m fortunate that they are both quite intelligent and I do not need to worry about their academics. I do, however, worry about other parts of their school-life. 😅
Maybe it’s a Mom thing? 🤔
Today went by so quickly! I did chores from 7am - 3:30pm (approximately)! I feel like I’ve got a lot accomplished in the last 2 days, but I’m still behind. 🤣 I skipped out on my 2 miles since I slept in an hour and had to run errands this morning, and doing the chores made it so I didn’t workout either. I somehow still got 10,000 steps. I’m ready to get back on track tomorrow though! 💜
Love being at work five days a week and learning a new skill set. Moving into my own wee space and getting a new job has definitely help. Plus I am pleased to announce as of next season I will be taking over as Head coach/developer for the junior and female programmes at Papanui and Redwood Football club #mentalshift#juststrongambassador#juststrong#letsdothis
The last couple of weeks I’ve had a few knock backs. My body has been through a lot with working all these hours. Therefore I haven’t really been going to gym and I have been eating more food that I shouldn’t really been eating as it’s easy and accessible! Then I would regret it after. I’ve put s bit of weight back on which I’m not surprised, but I am annoyed. But then also I think why should I be annoyed. This is all part of the process. Gives me motivation to get back to it this weekend with more go power than normal. So excited to put new plans to work and start cooking healthier foods again as I will have the time. Everyone who goes through ups and downs are normal, we are human. You can’t expect to eat crappy foods and not exercise without having consequences. Those days are when your strength and resilience become even more evident. Those days reveal how far you’ve already come. We need tough days to remind ourselves what we were made of.
Those days I make sure to wake up and show up even when I don’t feel like it at first. Sometimes all it takes is a gentle yoga practice to remember to breathe. 🧘🏻♀️
Here is a reminder for you: 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲. And every time you remind yourself of that, practicing self-love will become easier.

Benchpress have never really been an exercise that I've enjoyed. But recently I've gotten used more accustomed to them.
I think the main reason for why I was so afraid to try it out is that it felt like a thing only guys could do. And I now know that there is no such thing as girl and boy type of exercises. Don't let anybody tell you differently.

Walking for health!
So you may have noticed that I haven’t been posting many workouts recently....and that’s because I haven’t really been doing any!
Reason: I have a really bad injury to my hip that likely needs surgery 🙈
Yesterday I finally saw a physio who has gone through what exercises I can and can’t do.
I am so happy that I can start exercising again, albeit in a modified way! It’s going to take a while to re-learn a new way of doing things.....but I do love a challenge!
In the mean time, the past 8 weeks I have been focusing on something I knew wouldn’t do me any harm....walking!
Walking is my main form of transport anyway but I have made a point of walking at least 3 miles a day (structured) and accumulate a minimum of 10,000 steps a day.
Remember: when your injured it’s ok to rest and let your body heal. And speak to a healthcare professional about ways you can modify your exercise to stay healthy without causing further damage

Funny/cute story for you guys:
We visited my family a couple months ago and I took my ring off to eat dinner at a restaurant and when we came home and got ready for bed that night I got that phantom feeling where my ring was supposed to be and had asked Mike to grab it for me, but he couldn't find it so I started to panic and texted my mom asking if she's seen it and I sat down feeling AWFUL!
As I started drifting off to sleep my mom told me she moved it somewhere else so when Mike grabbed it to give to me I just started bawling 😂
Once he got me to calm down he just held me and told me he was going to marry me one day.
