Do you think there’s just one mountain whose name is Regina, calls all the shots, and makes them all wear pink?

"Must you make me pose with everything?" Have you ever had a scary moment with your dogs?
A couple summers ago, Jax overheated. The night prior, he had a minor reaction to a bug bite in which he received his vet prescrived steroids. The next day we were hanging out outside He had access to water, was utilizing cool shade. I walked around one side of the perimeter with him (about 5 mins) and he collapsed, almost completely unresponsive. I tried a tub of room temp. Water, and my usual water hating boy just laid in it. I remember bringing him to my car and be was slumped in my arms. I seriously thought I was going to lose him.
On the way to the vet I put some water in my cup holder and was using my finger to rub his gums with it. By the 40 minute mark (the e vet was a ways away), he took a treat.
Blood level tested just under dehydration.
The vet thinks it was a combination of factors, potentially related to the reaction the night before.
Ever since then, if it's really hot, I'll give him doggy electrolytes in his water. He's currently spooning my leg as I write this, and I seriously couldn't imagine life without him. .
Johnston Canyon is a hiking area along the Bow Valley Parkway, between Banff and Lake Louise. It’s a very popular place and for good reason. Unless you arrive early, be prepared for trails packed with people during the Summer.
Wasootch is one of those crags for everyone. I took my son here when he was three years old for his first climbing experience, enjoyed many family top roping days; placed my first few pieces of gear here close to 30 years ago; and of course, took my first whipper when I thought 5.10d ‘was kind of in the middle of the grades’ 😉 Here is my good buddy @thaczuk jumping on the sharp end for a few ‘App Photos’ because that is what friends do for each other. 👊🏻💥 ‘It got real up there’ You’re a legend Thaczuk!! 📸 by @johnpricephotography#kananaskis#climbing#rockclimbing

i got to explore #yvr while my pawrents ran the #seawheeze2019 half marathon. i was vicariously running with them. 🏃♀️
This is how close we got to a bear yesterday! Hiking in Kananaskis, this guy shows up right at the trail head. We got back in our vehicle, let him wander off, debated about what to do and then decided the coast was clear and did the 20k up the Mountian and back. When we drove away 4 hours later. we saw him again crossing the road a few kilometers past the trail. He was pretty chill. More interested in berries than anything. In all of my years of hiking, I’ve never been that close! .

It's been 27 years since my dad has crossed the river. Every year we go out and tell ourselves that next year will be the year. That next year we will find a way across to see his old hunting camp. Next year will be the year that we bring waders and a lunch and trek to his old hunting grounds. Next year will be the year that we have bikes to go check out his old stomping grounds. Well this year was the year! We did it Dad! And what an adventure it was! The stories were amazing, the memories were flowing and it was a great Father Daughter date! I was so glad I got to experience this with you! While it was a very long, muddy, wet, exhausting day, and all the wildlife we saw was a bullfrog, it could not have been more perfect! I cannot wait until next time! #hunting#scouting#catcreek#rivercrossing#hiking#rockymountains#kananaskis#sheephunt#mountainbiking#mud#rain#alberta#mountains#beautifulview#father#bestdadever#memories
Today was magical. Feels like I hiked to the Bahamas with that water color! If only... Galatea lake did not disappoint. Took a couple extra hours just to take in all the scenery so about 19 km but typically I believe around 16. So worth it the water was crystal clear and the bluest color. 😍
So excited to be headed into Kananaskis tomorrow morning for a week of exploring and then as soon as I’m back home I fly out to New York for a whirlwind of a trip with the good people over at @shimodadesign 📷🤩 I will be crushing a lot of fears when I am over in my neighbours country 🙌
This image is a few years old and I’ve shared it on here before, but it’s quite possibly my favourite spot in all of Canada located deep in Kananaskis ❤️
‘Go outside, not for the purpose of checking it off the ‘to-do’ list, but for the desire to feeling something’ - Kathleen Morton | I played with this edit for a long time and realized the photo was perfect before adding much of anything to it - with the vibrant greens and wildflowers - which were UNBELIEVABLE. Lucky to have this ‘play ground’ so close to home! @keencanada | I am wearing the new Women’s Explore Vent - which for those of you that know me well, I LOVE me a good light weight hiker 🤗❤️

WORKOUT TALK - I get asked all the time ‘What workouts do you do to prepare for hiking’, ‘How do you stay in shape?’, ‘What arm workouts do you do - I want mine to look like yours’, ‘How do I get your hiking legs’, ‘What’s your weekly workout and eating regime’, etc. The questions go on... Truth is I don’t really have one, I just like to ‘change it up’ and I put on muscle VERY quickly. Winter time I spend a lot more time indoors at the gym, doing circuits, and on the cardio machines (lots of stair climbing) to keep me in ‘mountain shape’. I find the with circuits, my body takes to them a lot better and I don’t get ‘bored’, and usually I just make them up on the spot. I use to do CrossFit years ago and use a lot of what I learnt! In the Summer I take it all outdoors (I’m paying a gym membership that I rarely use, but that’s okay). Paddleboarding, kayaking, running, hiking, biking, outdoor circuits, etc. As for diet... it’s just all about balance, I really like healthy food 🤷🏼♀️ Omlettes, salads, chicken, veggies, lots of peanut butter and coffee and WINE 🤣 . I use to be really strict with my eating and workouts back in the day so I really try to keep a balance of both, and am not afraid to treat myself! Now that we have our own house and kitchen I am excited to start cookin’ a lot more and experimenting with different recipes! #freshairandfreedom
Had a great day yesterday with @email@example.com and @mountaingirl8 !!
Breathtaking views at an altitude that doesn’t help 🏔 🥾 🛶
This morning we hiked (another!) 14 miles around Lake Louise and Lake Moraine. We visited to two “Tea Houses” in the park, had breathtaking views of glacier fed lakes, and even saw a bear!
The Plain of Six Glaciers Teahouse was a true highlight. Built in the 1920s by the Canadian Pacific Railroad, the tea house still has no road access or electricity and the building is still in its original form. Supplies are either flown in at the beginning of the season or packed in by staff (it’s a 5 mile hike!). We happened to be there on the one day mid-season that supplies are delivered and we saw several helicopter drops during our visit —so cool! Check out my insta stories for how it works!
A few more days to the trip! Anything else we need to see before we leave?
