I’m not sure what your perception is of me, could be good, could be bad, could be just completely neutral, but one thing you should know about me is I use to be one of the most quiet, shy, most insecure people I knew. I remember going days in high school not saying a single word to anyone because of the anxiety I felt. So why get into a business that requires the complete opposite? Ignorance mainly and it ended up being exactly what I needed.
Now, I didn’t pass my real estate test the first time I took it and sure as heck didn’t sell a lot of homes right off the get go. It has been a painful process getting away from the Chandler I use to be. Like being the first one to the office and the last to leave kind of painful. Like talking to 75-100 people a day because I was so far behind with my people skills and not setting a single appointment kind of painful. Like going 8 freaking months not selling a single home and having to work other jobs to just stay afloat. LIKE TEARING UP AND CRYING IN THE OFFICE PARKING LOT AT 9PM ON A SATURDAY NIGHT BECAUSE I JUST COULDN’T FIGURE IT OUT KIND OF PAINFUL!! Woo! This may be to much info, but humor me for a minute eh?
What I came to find out quickly was that real estate exposed all of my “pot holes” or insecurities/ faults that I needed to work on. So I had two choices, walk away and get a job that didn’t require the pain and just stay the same or.......lean into that darkness and get mad at the fact that I allowed myself to get to that point and kill that “dragon” that was holding me back from everything I wanted in life. So that’s what I did.
I haven’t always been consistent and that pain has beat me on a numerous of occasions, but I guess what I want you to take from this is to keep pushing back and keep getting on that field to compete because there’s others that understand the sacrifice it requires and appreciate it.
