The Chicago Riverwalk 💦 is one of my favorite places for a long walk with Max! 🐶
Along a stretch of 1.25-mile, the waterfront🚣🏻♀️ features the astonishing🤩 urban landscape and architecture that highlights present day Chicago!
The river was originally engineered 📐 to support the industrialization🏭 of the city.
With high levels of pollution 💨, the #Riverwalk as a recreational landmark was inconceivable then! 😷
But in 1887 the flow of the channel was reversed 🔁 to support sanitation innovation 🧼 and water conservation.🚰 Between 2015-2016, a development plan 📃 was executed📈, leading to the 6 distinct civic spaces 🏵 that line the bank of the #ChicagoRiver today! 🎊
The landmark is a symbol of the development 🏗 and planning🔏 spent in constructing #Chicago . Now a beautiful city 🌇 reflecting the stories and multicultural heritage of those who’ve lived here. 📇 #SummerTime http://liketk.it/2Dod7 #email@example.com
