In 2016 I did a backpacking trip across the Southern Region of Iceland. I knew that I was in for a great time when I began planning the trek, but I had no idea that it would end up being the greatest experience I ever had. I still think about that trip on a daily basis and hope to return soon to complete that hike again. These are just a few of the images I made along the way. I had rigged a method of strapping my camera to the shoulder straps of my pack so I could shoot while on the move, without dropping and going through my gear. Many of these photos were made hand-held as I hiked.
Hikers looking towards the largest glacier tounge in Iceland, Brúarjökull. That glacier is known for it’s ruthless glacier bursts and in the year 1964 it advanced about 8 km in just a few days. During that same year there was sea ice around the Westfjords and the occasional polar bear made it’s presence known.
Happy I got to spend a day hiking with this beast @thorofthor + a whole group of other great hikers. 🙏
I'm already missing that magical Island - but I'm also super pumped for comming adventures. Whether it's business or life, I'm prepared and excited!
Catch you all in the next 📫.
Throwback to one of my first "important" photos I ever took.
Five years ago, at the age of 18, I was living in Iceland, working as a horse trainer and becoming a horse photographer.
I like to look back to where I started on my birthdays, so today is a good day to realize how many wonderful things happened last year.
I held my first workshop in cooperation with @yeguada_la_perla_lusitanos and my first personal coachings, I spent 5 months in Iceland, I got a lot closer to finally finish uni and I met incredibly amazing people that enrich my life with their presence in so many ways ♥️
I got closer to some important people again and I shared beautiful intimate moments with animals and humans all over Europe.
I'm the most grateful person in this world today and I want to thank everyone who's a part of my life for making it so bright and colorful and for making me feel loved and appreciated. I love you ♥️
So, enough for now, I'm gonna enjoy the rest of my birthday now and I wish you a wonderful Sunday and hope you all voted already or you are going to vote later today, the earth needs you 🌎
Cheers to you 🥂
I usually never take photos in cities because I just don't find them interesting. But one dark and cold day last winter I was feeling quite blue so I went out for a walk with my camera in my neighborhood and I somehow liked how this bus stop in my street was standing there all alone and deserted, waiting for the bus to arrive with passengers that might stop and go out. Unlike the abandoned farms I've shot around Iceland, this bus stop is just temporarily empty. Maybe it served as a remember that our lives are like that too. We still have a purpose even though we feel empty at the moment. The bus will arrive sooner or later.
