I’m gonna learn to love myself if it’s the last thing I do...oh wait it is the last thing I am doing! 🙈❤️ Over these past few weeks I’ve admitting to struggling and I’ve done a lot of soul searching for why that has and I believe a lot of it has to do with always focusing on the next thing; the next size, the next goal weight, the next step, the next expectation, etc etc and never really just focusing on truly loving myself! So that’s the new plan, the next BIG thing after losing a 100lbs and constantly craving and wanting more! Right now, all I want is more SELF LOVE, more self acceptance, and more self contentment!
So what does that look like in the weeks ahead...
I am removing my scale. Temporarily, but that’s a start. Tomorrow I will step on it one last time before my husband takes it to his office where it will sit for the next few weeks while I get back to my original “WHY”...my health. Physically & mentally. And over the last few months that pesky thing has done nothing but make me upset so BYE BYE!! I am also going to start a new nutrition plan that focuses on clean eating. No junk. No artificial sweeteners. No blah blah blah. It’s the same plan I’ve used for years and can do in my sleep, but with the added element of carb cycling. The hope with that is to rid some of my bloat and lessen my swelling. While also detoxing the crap I’ve consumed while pacifying my feelings because pretty sure it’s not been doing me any good in the how I feel about myself department. I thrive on routine and structure (it’s just how I am 🤷🏻♀️) and there’s been none of that lately.
I am going to wake up each day and find something I love about myself. Some days it might be my appearance and others it might be about what an awesome Barbie playin’/train track building’ mama I am! And then whenever I feel the negative self talk start up, I am going to remind myself of those things I like and tell that voice to SHUT UP because I just don’t have time for it anymore!
And lastly, give thanks to that girl who all those years ago loved herself enough to start the journey in the first place!! Who is forever proud of the person she knew she would eventually become! #selflove

Sometimes you don’t recognize the growth you’ve made until you take the time to look back. Last summer at this time I read @heathermonahan ‘s book, Confidence Creator. This past winter I took part in her online course, Confidence Creator 101. In the spring I attended one of her public speaking events. And this summer I’ve been religiously listening to her top rated podcast.
What I LOVE about Heather is her crazy fiery ambition. But beyond that, she just doesn’t take no for an answer. Actually, it’s not that she doesn’t take no for an answer, but she’ll find a way to get the yes she’s looking for elsewhere. Defeat isn’t in her nature. Her mindset is ridiculously admirable ...and I signed up for just about anything that would get me playing in that field of unstoppable goal crushing, too!
So in a year of surrounding myself with her energy this is what I’ve come to accomplish ...
♥Stopped not taking risks on opportunities because I thought they were out of my reach. ♥Pursued my passion for writing and got my work picked up by 3 online magazines. And continuing to pitch to more!
♥Set a publishing date for my own book (February 2020) anddd in the process of booking a writing retreat to London for my birthday this November to crush the process and indulge in a destination I’ve been dreaming of. 🙏🏻
♥Applied to some big name printing companies!
♥Reached some major milestones in my personal life that helped to tighten my boundaries and circles. •
It’s pretty incredible to look back because sometimes you don’t even realize where you’ve been settling until someone points it out to you... Watching Heather make significant strides in her own life this year was absolutely inspiring and pushed me to do the same.

When you’re able to do something for yourself, it’s a good feeling. Don’t you agree? Being in a different city alone is definitely something I don’t like doing (something I’ve confirmed about myself), but how could you not feel good when this is your view? Got out of my comfort zone and went to spend a couple of evenings at Lake Livingston State Park and loved every bit of it. Got to do some thinking, reflecting, journaling, and reading. I admit, though, it was a temporary feeling. I wish it wasn’t, but still working on it. What are some things you do to stay positive and happy? 🍃 Mental health is a never ending journey, and just when i feel like I’ve mastered my anxiety, it shows up again.
My mental health and peace of mind are very important to me and having anxiety accompanied with overwhelming feelings and emotions are something that I constantly deal with.
It’s important to not suppress the anxious feelings when they come and allow yourself to feel the feelings without allowing them to consume you mentally. Balance. ☯️
How to get through a breakup 💔:
➡️ Let yourself feel ALL of it. The breaking. The anger. The resentment. The fear. The lose and loneliness that are so physical it’s like someone is pulling the bones from your body. Feel it all. Prove to yourself that you are capable of surviving it all. And you are.
➡️ When you can’t handle feeling anymore, do anything else that brings the tiniest bit of light back into your life. Soak yourself in that light for as long as you need to breathe easier again.
➡️ Write poetry. Paint. Sing. Dance. Cook delicious food. Create things. Literally anything, to show yourself that something can be made from other things breaking.
➡️ Lean into your platonic loves. Let your friends care for you, let your family carry you, let your dog comfort you, let your favorite books cradle you. Find soul mates in old places and reject the idea that romantic love is the only kind that counts.
➡️ Feel some more. Focus on not judging whether you should be feeling what you’re feeling.
➡️ Make mistakes. Do things that may be foolish. And decide to give yourself a break.
➡️ Start to allow yourself to dream something new. Reclaim a part of yourself that existed before you meet your ex. Step into a version of yourself that you didn’t feel was possible with him/her. Let go of narratives that no longer fit. Keep outgrowing who you were.
➡️ Most importantly, chose yourself. Over & over & over. And now, you always will.

I always say that the Tower comes along when we are no longer aligned with the right path to set up back on course, so don’t stress. You’re finding your way!
