Jack flew in his first helicopter late yesterday, which he is still talking about today. He’s been obsessed with all things aviation for some time now and when asked what he wants to be when he grows up, “Pilot” is always the answer. In the meantime, we’re off to the beach again today. ⛱ #adventuresofjackalexander

Meet Bayaraa, third in our series of Meet the Crew posts. He is our most seasoned guide and translator, and is a tremendous combination of exceedingly high functioning, whilst catatonically laid back. Forged in the fires of multiple Mongol Derbys, where he has worked as a translator with Shatra and Katy, he can troubleshoot with the best of them, without raising a sweat, or even an eyebrow. Mostly he is to be found chilling out and enjoying the company of his equally handsome mount, and when the going is good, he'll be enjoying his riding, camping and star-gazing as much as, if not more than, the guests. These weapons are just for show. He splits his time between the US and Mongolia and this gives him a great perspective on what clients want, and need, on a Morindoo adventure. He's our Mongolian Renaissance man.⠀
I've been thinking a lot about #Mongolia lately. It's one of those places that haunts me, in a good way. When I was there, I explored the vastness of the Altai Mountains but it was only a sliver of the country.⠀
I took this photo of a little girl and her elders at a wedding in the middle of nowhere. A day of pure joy and excitement. They were watching wrestling, a typical wedding attraction among the Kazakh nomads. Can you imagine telling a wedding planner in the states that you want to have wrestling? Love it.⠀
I really want to go back again.⠀
A 2020 goal? I think so.⠀
Where do you want to go in 2020?
Is there McDonalds round the corner? Nope. Every time we go long term travelling it makes us realise how much we enjoy the food back home. After a few months we start to get random cravings. Max misses his cheese and crackers evenings, I miss… well a lot actually: glazed doughnuts straight out of the bakery, home made lasagne, stone baked pizza and the list goes on and on haha 😂When we were driving through South Africa our friends kept telling us ‘’wait until you get outside of SA into the REAL Africa’’ and we didn’t know what they meant. Now we do. South Africa is a bit like Europe - you can buy pretty much all the same stuff in the supermarkets and shopping malls. After travelling further through Botswana, Zambia and Malawi those things are rare. Yes, we eat the local food which is a great cultural experience but after a few months the novelty wears off and you’re sitting there peckish sipping a baobab juice, looking at the grilled mice on the stick thinking about the chicken wings. I guess we’re spoilt with choice. Can anyone relate? Any ridiculous food cravings out there? Share so we feel better about ours 🙄

Careful when crossing the road, it's easy to be distracted by this stunning view of Mt Fitz Roy. 🏔️ While the impressive mountain is in Patagonia, this shot was actually taken near the town of El Chalten in Los Glaciares National Park, Argentina. 📸: @daynamarienz
Dreaming of the beautiful nothingness in the Bartang Valley. Wish I could ride this place again right now to refresh the soul.
July 2020 we’ll be there with our @rideunlimited.co.uk tour, seems like forever away though 🙈

They say life passes by so quickly.
And it does, so guet out and live your life.
Bask in the sunlight and embrace the rain.
Choose the path that feels right for you and be gentle with yourself. Take the risk, follow your dreams and free yourself from what others expects.
Savor each moment that darts past you. It’s your life, remember that.
