Flying #cars used to be the stuff of #scifi movies—until now. @bellflight is hoping to make its #ai -equipped Nexus prototype (above) commercially available by the mid-2020s. And @airbus took its self-piloted vehicle from concept to first #flight in just two years.
For the cars to really take off, though, teams will have to figure out how to integrate them with current air-control #infrastructure —and vice versa. Both Airbus and Bell are collaborating with regulators. And @uber is working with property developers and local U.S. governments to ensure a network of urban skyports for the unpiloted #aerial#taxi service it plans to roll out in 2023.
What is offsetting?
“First you calculate how much carbon you've emitted. Then you buy an "offset".
These are part shares in projects that work to reduce carbon being emitted elsewhere, usually in poorer parts of the world.
These can be schemes to plant trees, install renewable energy technology, or to change people's lifestyles, such as providing them with more fuel-efficient cooking equipment.
Every serious offsetting organisation really stresses it is better to avoid emissions when you can," she says. "It's always better not to fly. But flying and offsetting is better than flying and not offsetting." @bbcnews

World dangerous airport
Tenzing–Hillary Airport also known as Lukla Airport ,is a small
airport in the town of Lukla in Khumbu
The airport is popular because Lukla is the place where most people start the climb to Mount Everest Base Camp . There are daily flights between Lukla and Kathmandu during daylight hours in good weather. Although the flying distance is short, rain commonly occurs in Lukla while the sun is shining brightly in Kathmandu. High winds, cloud cover, and changing visibility often mean flights can be delayed or the airport closed.

On flight 744 to Amsterdam, Doris had no idea what she was about to eat. It could be chicken, it could be cake...it could be chickencake. As Ben ponders WTF they’re serving the passengers, Doris puts on her best fake smile and chooses a piece of the mystery food—a choice she might just regret for the rest of her life. Ben opts for a bag of peanuts, and skips the fireworks display of glazed death, knowing full-well his sensitive stomach could produce thunderous assplotions of his own. Needless to say, there was quite a stir in the cabin, and the flight was eventually delayed due to severe turbulence. Another tale of gastrointestinal distress on flight 744 out of JFK, circa 1962
Two decades of being in this industry and still...nothing compares to the engineering marvel of a brand new jet. Say hello to our newest fleet addition: the @airbus A330-900neo, now flying Seattle-Shanghai.
