I didn’t have time to finish this spread during the workshop at Michaels this afternoon but what I did do pretty well sums up how I feel about it! What a delight to share art journaling with a fabulous group of women! I am so grateful that they took a chance and leapt in with both feet. Time flew by and I forgot to take any pics but we made a fabulous, beautiful mess and there were lots of smiles and paint-covered hands at the end. I can’t wait to do more workshops! #artjournaling#expressyourself#putitonpaper#taketimeforyou#artheals
Slow progress is still progress. Sometimes the fun things in life take time, effort and thought. Regardless of what you create, create. You can't make something unless you try. Once you make it, it's yours. Life, success, happiness all take effort. Now go, do.
Day 17 - thankful. I am blessed/cursed with wanting to do a bunch of different things at the same time, and having multiple simultaneous passions. When I thought about what I was thankful for, "time" immediately came to mind. Having so many things I want to do, I am always thankful for the time I get to pursue my passions - whether it's an entire day, or just a few spare minutes in between responsibilities. This spread features an homage to two famous clocks - Big Ben and Dali's melting clock from The Persistance of Memory - and a background made up of things I love to do, and things that wouldn't be possible without some time. #brushmagazinechallenge#artjournaling#inkdrawing#carveouttimeforart#howshecreates
Rev. Tara Beth Leach talked about the kingdom of God this morning and how we as Christians do not avoid suffering, BUT we have Jesus with us who understands suffering because He suffered too! Also, similar to Dr. Blake's message, she said, "There are lessons to be learned in the suffering."
Faces! And paint! I visited @latroberegionalgallery yesterday and really felt a need to get back painting again...
So today’s #artjournaling session will be looking at faces and how to paint them... it’s good preparation for portraiture. Every artist should do a self portrait at least once... $10 pays for tuition and materials, bring your own art journal or sketchbook 🙂🎨
Collages for 365 Somethings. Gel plate printing, screen printing (which wasn't completely cured/set when I applied matte medium, d'oh), scraped acrylic paint, Posca paint pens, collage.

Thinking about brush strokes and how I use them. 🖌 How I can change them and make them different. Thinking about movement and motion around a central point. 🌀 Thinking about what I owe and who I owe it to. Thinking about how to pay it forward. 🔄
