In my household, cooking is a family bonding exercise. My children took interest in my culinary endeavours from a very tender age, and I made sure I involve them completely, delegating proper responsibilities to them, and answering all their questions patiently and as interestingly as possible.
I realised with time that they enjoy baking the most, and I decided to nurture their flare in that direction. And so, we (my children and I) came up with a plan.
We would bake cakes together and sell them, donating the proceeds to sponsor the education of the children belonging to our domestic staff. That way, a social consciousness, and a sense of empathy would get embedded in my toddlers’ hearts, and they would first-hand be able to witness the large difference these small acts of kindness could make in someone’s life.
We have been lucky so far, and my children have received a lot of appreciation and love for their baking over time. Now that they’re a little older, we try out a lot of variations together- such as cooking vegan, like in the picture above. This was clicked when we prepared a delicious carrot cake using whole wheat flour, olive oil and brown sugar.
We are always open to orders, so if anybody wants to buy something from our home-baking collection, please feel free to DM me.
Eat cake for a cause- that's the dream, right?
Bake-A-Wish with superstar Abbey ✨! This strong, smart, funny, fully fledged legend came and MADE her very own galaxy themed cake at my home with me as part of her wish with @makeawishaust ⭐️🌚🌜! Her wish was to have a tea party with all of her friends, where she had baked all of the galaxy goodies herself... is this not the most selfless, whole hearted thing you’ve ever heard 🥰🥰. Abbey’s own amazing words were made into this AMAZE cake topper that reads “When you look up at the stars, anything is possible” 💫! Thanks @glisteningoccasions_ & @kellyscaketoppers for making this, we LOVED it!! More magic coming soon with my friends from @makeawishaust x #bakeawish
