Subhayan Ghosh (@ghosh_subhayan) photographed a Rufous-necked Hornbill in the Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary, West Bengal.
Rufous-necked Hornbills need large trees and vast forest areas to nest and survive. Deforestation and habitat fragmentation impact their populations. They are listed as Vulnerable in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
If you are interested in knowing more about hornbill conservation efforts, we recommend that you read about the Hornbill Nest Adoption Programme on the @NCF.india website.

I love this photo I took of two Woodpigeons on telephone lines.
I was struck by the strong horizontal lines equally spaced from each other, and the coincidental positioning of the Woodpigeons on either side of the centre. The black and white justs adds to and emphasises the symmetry in this photo.
Watching Gannets fish off Rathlin Island was unreal. They gather so much speed as they pin their wings back and transform into feathery torpedos! Swipe for series 💨
