Behind scenes of my #corneringconfidence online course video production. .
I went out today to shoot my last few demo videos for the internet course coming to you ASAP! .
Here is a few fun outtakes and preview of content. .
#s1000xr that I tried out this weekend (well today specifically). My wife @upsidesunny even came out for a rip on this with me today. It’s not often she comes out on a bike with me and it was awesome having her in the saddle with me today. Overall an awesome bike. Handles as if on rails in comparison to my #zrx1100 (an unfair comparison for my 20 year old bike vs one that is only 3). The XR is a #hooligan machine, hell bent on being wrung out at all times. Put in dynamic mode, the sound is amazing, and twisting the throttle will leave anyone with a permanent smile (except a passenger who doesn’t have a topbox/backrest). The XR handles 2-up riding well, but a top box is a must if you have a passenger. Not only for their comfort/piece of mind, but also for the rider in front. The XR stock seat is not bad overall, but with two up it can/will punish the person in control of the throttle and braking forces. Being ridden 2-up at in town speeds, the XR gets a bit warm, and hates the lower revs, surging even, letting you know it’s still got the heart of a race bike. Would I take it over my ZRX? Not sure to be honest. It has more inherent vibration that goes on longer through the rpm range, and doesn’t handle city riding as smoothly. Clutch operation is much smoother than my ZRX (I prefer cable to hydraulic), and the quick shifter is amazing to have. Riding two up the quick shifter makes it much nicer and more confidence inspiring for smooth acceleration and stopping. Gearbox is also smooth as butter. Wind protection is minimal but enough, though I would prefer a taller screen. Heated grips and hand guards would keep me riding for longer here in #newengland , where the ZRX checks out once we hit 35 degrees. For anyone that wants a sport bike that sits upright and can be comfortable for 2 people, this is your bike. For me, it’s amazing, but I’m not sure if it would be “the one”. I need to remind myself of how a #r1200gs feels, or even a #r1250gs , and test that with 2-up as well. #makelifearide#adventureawaits#bmwmotorrad#adventuresport#hooliganmachine#motorcycle
Russian border crossings make me very nervous. Although you have done all your homework well and your papers, documents and visas are in order, they understand the art of finding something that is not entirely correct. It took 5 hours before I was allowed to cross the border into Russia. But only thanks to these two very nice truck drivers from the Ukraine. They saw that I was in trouble and stayed with me for five hours to translate everything. Thanks Anatoli and Boris, I would have had to return home without you
