Like everything else, you are also vibrational energy. When your outer circumstances are less than what you desire them to be, there is something within you creating those undesirable circumstances, while at the same time keeping other, more desirable circumstances at bay. You attract the circumstances based on the vibrational alignment of your thoughts and feelings.
Is the mindfuness movement misusing ancient wisdom and modern science in order to create a product of mass consumption? Is this approach leading us towards enlightenment or just promoting selfishness and complacency?

"We can't spend hours in front of our altars and behave badly in our everyday life, because the real liturgy begins when we get up from in front of our altars..."

The origin of Nepal Mandal .
Swayambhu stupa is the most ancient and enigmatic of all the holy shrines in #kathmanduvalley As mentioned in Swayambhu Puran, long before the arrival of Buddhism in the valley, Kathmandu valley was a very beautiful lake, habitat of various Serpent, surrounded by hills during the Pleistocene era. After a miraculous lotus seed planted by Bipashwi Tathagatha (विपश्वी तथागथ ), the first Buddha, which blossomed from the lake that once covered Kathmandu Valley. The Lotus radiated a brilliant light of five different colors, thus the name of the place came to be Swayambhu, meaning ‘Self-created’. Many saint, sages, Buddhas and various Buddhist deities came and witness the miraculous lotus flower and the bright rays. After learning about this incident, the Bodhisatva, Manjushree, came from Mahachin to witness the celestial lake. He was surprised to see a huge Lotus flower emanating bright light at the centre of the lake. Deeply impressed by the power of the radiant light, Manjushree felt that if the water were drained out of the lake, Swayambhu will be easily accessible to future pilgrims and devotees. With his sword, he cut a deep gorge allowing the water to drain from the lake, known as Kathmandu Valley, in the present day. Rest is history. .. 🙌🏼

The Dalai Lama is the spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism, and in the tradition of Bodhisattva he has spent his life committed to benefiting humanity. ... In 1989, the Dalai Lama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his nonviolent efforts for the liberation of Tibet and his concern for global environmental problems.
Siddhartha Guatama Buddha, also often referred to as Sakyumuni, was a spiritual teacher upon whose lessons the foundations for Buddhism were formed. He is regarded as the Supreme Buddha and is the first enlightened individual to be visualized. Despite some confusion from those who do not follow Buddhism, it is important to note that the Buddha was not considered to be a God. He was rather a mere human, like the rest of us, who was able to develop an extraordinary perception about existence. This perception helped him to rid his mind of the things that cause us all a level of suffering; craving, hatred, and delusion. This, in turn, helped him to attain levels of true peace and contentment – and remain free from the suffering of sentient beings.
The Shakyamuni Buddha mantra is actually a play on the Buddha’s name and is as followings.
Om Muni Muni Mahamuni Shakyaminu Soha
As with the majority of mantras, there can be several types of meanings associated with the Shakyamuni Buddha mantra; however, it is possible to come up with several literal English translations so that the true essence of this powerful mantra can be better understood.
Om – Some believe that Om does not have an actual conceptual meaning. However, it can typically be reflective of an awareness of the surrounding universe. It is used at the start of many mantras and can be thought of as opening yourself up to the truth of what is coming next with the recital of the mantra.
Muni – This term is often translated to mean sage, or wise one.
Maha – This term is typically translated to mean great or supreme.
Soha – This term is often translated to mean hail or greetings.
With this mantra, followers of the Shakyamuni Buddha are seeking the guidance that will help them to remove them of all negativities, obstructions, and hindrances; allowing them the ability to progress swiftly on the right path towards enlightenment. The mantra can be recited daily or when individuals are seeking the inspiration needed to transform a negative and stressful state into one that is filled with peace and happiness.
“Loving-kindness does not mean trying to like the unlikeable. That’s the same as trying to taste something bitter and pretend that it’s actually sweet. We need to be realistic and say: ‘This is a bitter taste. That’s a painful memory. This is a painful sensation in the body.’ That’s what it is. Mettā is not making ourselves like the unlikeable, but rather radically and totally accepting what is here. If there’s a bitter taste, recognize it as bitter – this is something that can be experienced. We have a tongue and it’s able to perceive flavours. There are sweet flavours, there are sour flavours, there are bitter flavours. This is a bitter flavour. That’s what it is. Nothing has gone wrong. It’s not ‘bad’. It’s just a flavour that we can experience. Here it is. It’s like this. So this is the quality of mettā – a radical acceptance, a wholehearted acknowledgement and recognition.” 🙏❤️
Excerpt from The Breakthrough by Ajahn Amaro
As the largest fresh lake in the northern of the Himalaya Mountains, Yamdrok Lake is spreads about 675 square kilometers from south to north with depth of 30m ~ 60m. Regard as the turquoise earrings scattered of Goddess among Tibetan, you can easily find its beauty but never reveal its full sight. Only looked at map or from upper height, Yamdork with a shape of eardrop lay in the mountains side. Meanwhile, viewed from different moment in the same angle, she will present you extremely rich colors with various kinds of blue, like a dreamland. View from a distance, you can have a wider sight to find local animals wandering through the fertile lakeshores, and some small Tibetan villages inhabiting in the valleys close to Yamdrok Lake.
According to there was a young girl that lived by the lakeshore, who loved to bathe in the lake in the early morning. The legend says that a rich man fell in love with her, and hid by the lake one morning, grabbing her as she drew close to take her to his home to be his wife. As he strode out of the water, a fairy appeared and beat the man to death with her beads, but he refused to release the young girl, who was dragged to the bottom of the lake with him and drowned. When the villagers came to look for her, a beautiful white bird flew up from the lake, and they found only the body of the rich man. The people believed the fairy had turned the girl into the white bird when she drowned, and ever since, the lake has been home to a wide variety of birds.
