Instagram Likes Are No Longer Public 🤯 ** If you know the headline but want the tips, scroll to the end ** ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
From today, you may notice the number of Likes a post gets is invisible to all but the original poster.
Instagram has been trialing this in other countries for a little while. It wants users to focus on what we share, not how many likes we gain. During the test, you'll only be able to see the total number of likes on your posts.
Let's hope it puts a stop to the vanity metrics and has a positive impact on our well being. You see, we get a mini-high pulsate through our veins when someone likes our content. It's like a drug. We begin to crave it. Likes have become a quantifiable form of social endorsement. 🙄 And that isn't healthy.
Personally, the disappearance of likes is no big deal. Comments, DMs and Saves are way more valuable for your position in the news feed.
To see how your posts are performing, either click View Insights on individuals posts, or look at your overall account Insights (via the three lines, top right hand corner of your home screen).
I'm unsure how this will impact our spot in the news feed but quality over quantity will always put you in a strong position.
✨ Spend more time curating scroll stopping images.
✨ Write better. Your captions need to hold people.
✨ Give your audience a reason to engage - comments will hold more weight.
✨ Optimise each post with geolocation, tags, hashtags, etc.
✨ Don't rely soley on Instagram (I can help you with alternative platforms and strategy).
✨ Live outside the platform. Network. Connect offline. Cultivate word of mouth.
What are your thoughts? Are you going to miss judging how successful a post was based on the number of likes? Comment below or send a DM to share your thoughts.
How do you handle your employees when they mess up?
Do you just sack or give room for correction?
Do you allow them share their views on your business or you shut them out completely?
How strong is your communication?
This and lots more will be discussed on our I.G live Chat with 'Dotun Jegede @adedotunjegede by 3pm.

Third business you can start with only ₦5,000 just as one of our @sme100africa Community members mentioned earlier...SOAP MAKING!! We all know that every human being needs to wash or clean something; be it their body, clothes, toilets, cars, floors etc.
I SEE YOU 👀
Not in a creepy, stalking way of course but I know YOU.
You want to start something new but you are scared. Because you don’t want to be seen starting at the bottom.
You want to do more but you are scared. Because ‘more’ is risky and you worry what people will think of you if you fail.
I know the feeling. I recognize it in others and I want you to know EVERYONE feels it. Not just you and I - EVERYONE (including the ones who pretend to be above the rest).
The bummer is most people live their lives making choices that reflect their fears, not their hopes.
Don’t be most people.
Start that business. Do more in your business. I promise YOU WILL GROW.
You will feel incredibly proud of the person you become, and you will be SO much further ahead than where you are now.
And if it helps, I’ve got your back. 👀

Hi there 👋 My name is Jodie Minto. I'm the one on the far left wearing the green jacket. So nice to meet you. 😉
I'm a self-confessed social media ads geek and master of all things e-commerce.. This photo is of me and my kick-ass coaching clients a couple of weeks ago at the holy grail of all offices.....@facebook 🙌🏼 .
You see, I've been running my own online fashion store @ilandco for many years now. And not to toot my own horn or anything, but it's been pretty damn successful.
I went from a full-time corporate slave to kick-ass soloprenuer making multiple 6-figures each year from my online store.
But I haven't always enjoyed the lifestyle that I do now.
I used to be stuck in a full-time job I hated while secretly plotting my exit strategy.

I've been a little quiet lately on social media this week. I have been virtually "off the grid" in the Kimberlys in WA's far north working with clients at Mornington Wilderness Camp.
It has been easier than I thought to disconnect from the internet and reconnect with mother nature.
We simultaneously watched the most amazing sunset and moonrise over Sir John Gorge on the Fitzroy River and many other wonderful experiences with Australian wildlife.
Sometimes business isn't really all business.
I'm blessed to have an amazing array of clients...sometimes I have to pinch myself to remind me that I'm not dreaming that I get paid to do what I love in some of the most amazing places.

Don’t let anyone tell you that you’re not strong enough ⠀
When you got involved in Internet Marketing you must have imagined that you would conquer the world, that everyone would be rooting for you, willing you on to succeed.⠀
Then very quickly you discovered that many people did not understand your mission and would not support you. So how did you react to that? Did you become despondent, ready to give up? ⠀
Don’t let anyone tell you that you’re not strong enough or good enough to do what you choose to do. ⠀
You need to have a single minded determination to be successful in life in general and Internet Marketing in particular. Avoid the noise around you and focus on your journey. What people think of you is none of your business.⠀
We have the utmost respect for entrepreneurs because the hustle is like no other.
But the ones who go the extra mile to drive social change??
Gosh! They are in an entirely different league and we need more of them!

As You might be focused on social media, paid search, or web design, but as long as Google exists SEO will remain one of the most important steps in any marketing plan, especially for small and medium sized businesses.

Yes , the correct entrepreneurs mindset and correct business system steps in each field can’t replace by social media. Social media are a platform to create awareness about yourself and your brand
This the reason , why I start to giving my knowledge which I know and proven method to help others in their basic knowledge about Instagram to build their business 👩🏻💻
If social media not important, my collaboration company, nuskin won’t pump in billon dollars to upgrade their apps and strategy development.

If you've been connected with me for any length of time, you know that I talk about the 7 strategic objectives that every business has. You also know that it's super important to prioritize them so that you are crystal clear on your business focus each quarter.⠀
And the very first strategic objective that I usually talk about is financial steadiness, because, for most of us, this is one of our top priorities.⠀
You’ll never have a sound business without the key components of financial steadiness. This starts with the appropriate business structure - a sole prop, LLC, a S-corp, etc. Other components are your tax arrangements. Are you putting away for taxes? Paying quarterly? What about retirement or insurance? Do you know what you need to make from this business/career?⠀
The value of having the right financial pieces in place is that you’ll know you have a business and not a hobby. Your business is so much more than the revenue coming in.⠀
The challenge of this objective is that it can be intimidating. Like life insurance, it’s something that people put off until it’s too late. But know that the more you’re financially savvy, the easier it will get. Just rip off the band-aid and do it.⠀
Financial Steadiness Tip: Understand where your revenue is coming from before you start diving into the scarier part of your finances (taxes, retirement). Small steps will help you get on the right path.⠀

Do you write down ideas? 💵
📸 credit @businesstutorship
There’s a small power in physically writing something down in my opinion. It’s the first real step of commitment. It shows you are taking your ideas from the realm of imagination into reality. Everything becomes clear once it’s down on paper and not just lingering in your head. I’ve always preferred physically writing down thoughts and ideas compared to digital methods, it seems more real to me. I’m such a massive fan of this concept that I just ordered in a white board for my room. If you haven’t gotten in the habit of journaling you goals/plans for the day ahead every night, try it out. You’ll wake up with a clear mind and set structure for the day. The more you minimize cluster and confusion, the easier your day will flow 🔌

In details:- Instagram was developed in San Francisco by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger. Systrom was working in marketing and started doing engineering at night to help him learn how to code. He created a prototype app of an idea he originally called Burbn, which allowed people to check-in where they are on their mobile web app. After meeting people who worked for venture capitalist firms at a party, Systrom got them to agree to a meeting to discuss Burbn. After the first meeting, he quit his job and two weeks later he had raised $500,000 from the firms.
At this point, Systrom decided to find a team to help him and Mike Krieger agreed to join. They decided that the app was very similar to other already established mobile apps, so they pivoted to focus solely on communication through images. They stripped out all the features from the app except uploading photos, commenting and liking. It was renamed Instagram which referred to the fact that users were sending a type of instant telegram.
