You know what’s the hardest thing to do?!....write a bio about yourself! Hold on tight folks this could be a bit bumpy!
K double E-L-Y in house! It’s pretty clear when you meet me that I have a serious case of ADD. I snap my fingers, twist my hair and dance in the middle of the day. 89% of my sentences end with an exclamation point because most things I say have that much energy behind it! If you ask my friends they will tell you I’m bossy but fiercely loyal. My husband would say I'm stubborn but determined and kids would say I’m a hoot and half...just kidding. I'm sure they would tell you in a little crazy. I inherited my mom's directness and my dads drive. Growing up in a small town where my teen years mimicked most country songs is a huge part of me. I guess that’s why I prefer camping on the lake much more than a tropical vacation or a hike in the gorge over a trip to the spa. I am energized by meeting new people. I’m not talking just hellos, and names. I’m talking really getting to know someone...I love it! I am motivated by giving advice, educating and providing peace of mind. That’s why I love my job. My doors are open, coffees on, so come on in and let’s chat!
FRIENDS!! This is why you have a local agent! We just moved this customer over from a 1800 number company last week! I was able to hop on a quick FaceTime call to see what happen and give them some reassurance...because this situation could be a little nerve racking 😳 Do you think they could have texted there 1800 number company to get peace of mind...🤔🤔 ** although the equipment was VERY close to the home it thankfully did not hit it! Thank you to the customer for letting me share😊
Ok folks, let me rewind a bit from my last post where I assured you that getting a quote would be super easy by just texting me a few bits of info OR sending a screenshot of your Dec page. So many of you reached out (THANK YOU) but the majority (yes I said MAJORITY) of you did not know what a “dec” page is or where to find it. GREAT! Let me help!
A declarations page is literally a page ..maybe two that typically gets snail mailed to you ( explains why you might have never seen it right?!) that lists your coverages out. You should have one for each policy that you have.
Why should you pay attention to it?
It’s important to look at it at least once a year to make sure you know what kind of coverages you have, and that your coverages match what you actually need. Think about it for a minute- how much has changed in the last year for you? Did you move? Get married? Have a kid? Get a new job? Renovation? Maybe all of those things?! The point is your insurance coverage doesn’t automatically adjust when life happens.
Where to find it?!
Great question! I sent my sister on a wild goose chase the other day to find hers. After two days of logging on to every account she owns, she still couldn’t find it. I promise it shouldn’t be that hard! If you are one of the few that actually tucked it away in a beautiful vintage filing cabinet, more power to you! If you’re like the rest of us and are running to the few pieces of random mail that came in today to look for it- no worries. You should be able to log onto the app of whatever company you are currently with and find it. If you still can’t find it, give your agent a call and request a copy.
Ok, now what?!
Yay! You found it! Wether you’re insured in our office or another company, call me! (Or text, email, whatever!) Let’s review it together and make sure the coverage is right for you. *Or as I mentioned earlier, send me that screen shot and let me do the work for you!
One thing that has helped me on my financial journey is to always be looking out for better deals. ⠀
There is no need to be loyal to any one corporation, remember, they are all just trying to make money off of you, so if you can find a better deal make the switch. ⠀
A friend recently mentioned that she had cheap car insurance through Geico which made me think I should give them a call and see if I could get a better deal through them. ⠀
Turns out not only would we save $106.11 a month for the exact same coverage (I pay extra for very good coverage which has been totally worth it when we have dealt with accidents) as I had before with Mercury Insurance but that included adding Brandon's Honda Scooter he recently purchased (more on that in another post). ⠀
In fact, the insurance was cheaper by bundling the insurance for the two together so we basically got his insurance for the whole year for free. ⠀
If you read my post earlier this week about calling T-Mobile and saving $30 a month on our phone bill the total savings from both add up to $1633.32 a year ($136.11 a month). ⠀
That did take work. I spent a lot of the afternoon on the phone with not only T-Mobile and Geico plus my old insurance to cancel it. I was exhausted after all of the calls but to save that much per year it was worth it. ⠀
Can you see if you can find a better deal on your car insurance today? 👇🏾⠀

This is why I never auto renew my car insurance, Admiral wanted £362.88 for the year. I called them and after a few minutes on the phone they had managed to drop that down to just over £240. That was great but rather than being complacent I did a price comparison on @moneysupermkt to see what other companies could offer.
The cheapest price was from @quote.me.happy for just £183! I checked over the policy details and it was identical what I had on my existing policy with Admiral. I had a play about with the level of excess and found that if I dropped the voluntary excess from £200 to £0, the yearly price went up by just £4!
I called Admiral back and asked them to cancel my policy as I'd be taking out the new one. They tried to drop the price again but couldn't get it below £200. As soon as I was off the phone I set up the new policy with Quote me Happy, I didn't even have to send my no claims proof as they got it straight from Admiral.
Quote me Happy also have an app which I've downloaded so I've got all my policy details to hand. Fingers crossed I won't have to use my insurance but if I do it should be an easy process and won't cost me any excess which is brilliant! The whole process took around forty minutes and basically cut my policy price in half!
Some people say loyalty pays but this just goes to show that isn't the case.
