Good Night people!! .
PROSPERITY is a mindset game! It doesn’t matter how your past was.. it doesn’t matter how battered or scarred you earlier days were. It doesn’t matter if you grew up in a poor or middle class background. If you are willing to pick yourself up in the head first, you regain the power to move forward in the direction of prosperity. #befearless#prosperity#mindset#onelife#dontgiveup 📷 #sujaysphotography

What a day to be harvesting and washing. Oh my gosh, I have never been so cold.
Today I am wishing for hot sun on my skin, sweat in my eyes and dirt under my nails that isn’t frozen.
These beauties are headed to the shop tomorrow, and they won’t last long. My choice, Tokyo Market Turnips - sautéed in butter, salt and pepper - perfectly sweet, delicious morsels.
What’s your favourite winter veggie?
Your guide to “Seasonal Eating” in our region.
It’s hard to believe that anything would survive with this horrendous weather. We still have a few things growing, they’re slow but we’re still eating. The hungry gap is looming and my mind is turning towards this.
Mostly, the garden is resting. Winter is a time for recovery and preparation and a time when I feel I really need to be at home. It’s about comfort and bunkering down.
I’ve sorted our Seeds and the spring and summer planting plan is slowly coming together.
With the anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing coming up next week I thought I’d better post something spacey, (but certainly not Kevin.....😊). This is an autumn shot of two of the dishes at the Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex at Tidbinbilla. In the Apollo 11 pre-mission planning, Tidbinbilla was scheduled to track the Lunar Module, Eagle, on the lunar surface, and nearby Honeysuckle Creek was to track the command module, Columbia, in lunar orbit. Tidbinbilla had a maser low noise amplifier that gave it greater sensitivity than Honeysuckle Creek. A third NASA tracking station at Carnarvon in Western Australia was scheduled to track the LM with its 9 metre antenna and receive the telemetry from the surface experiments the astronauts were to deploy. The signals were then to be sent to Houston via the INTELSAT III Pacific geostationary satellite. Unfortunately for Tidbinbilla, a fire in the transmitter just one day into the mission on 18 July altered the plan drastically. Despite engineers being able to repair the damage in just 12 hours, the incident dented NASA's confidence in the station, so its role was switched with Honeysuckle Creek. This was a great disappointment to the engineers at Tidbinbilla who had worked tirelessly to get the system back up and running in such a short time. For Honeysuckle Creek however, this twist of fate would prove to be significant. 😊🔭 #canberra#visitcanberra#sofranksocial#igerscanberra#hapscaps#cbr#cbrregion#australia#aussiephotos#lonelyplanet#autumn#thiscanberranlife#tidbinbilla#space#dish#antenna#radiotelescope#apollo11#moon

🌱Hump day feels🌱
It cloudy, windy and cold today but no rain 😔
This one has not moved from her spot by the fire...and neither have I for that matter.🐕
My local garden club have invited me to speak at their meeting on Sunday.
I wrote a draft and it turns out I could talk for DAYS about garlic😳
So it's an understatement to say a fair bit of cutting is due.
Perfect fireside chit chat with the dog.

Major parenting success - getting your kids to pick the veggies and eat the veggies.
Before I became a farmer (I’m a farmer 🙌 💪) my eldest would not touch a vegetable. He was a beige food eater, which was devastating for me, being a lover of all food.
It wasn’t until he was 9 and we moved to the farm that he ventured into the unknown vegetable world and he hasn’t looked back.
I put this down to firstly some really really hard work, but then, I think him being involved in the whole process of knowing where your food comes from has played big part. That and the beautiful sweet flavours of all the vegetables we grow.
He still complains about eating leaves but get him to pick a cauliflower or broccoli and he will go back for seconds.
Being 14 he wouldn’t allow a photo, how embarrassing, lucky his little sister is always keen for one and she’s very keen to grow, keen to help and keen eat.
Knowing where your food comes from is one of our biggest achievements with the kids and it’s something we hope to help others become familiar with too. 📷 @jessica_christie
