I was glad bc it wasn't rainy that day 😊
History history and more history! In the midst of learning about culture, you are invariably creating a culture of your own. Memories made as siblings put stamps on your soul and shape your not-so-distant future. I’m proud to witness the growth and change in the lives of my Littles while providing the space and opportunity for it to flourish. Day 2 was a blur and a ball; started early and ended late. Lots of walking that ended with seats at Arena Mexico for a Lucha Show. 😆🤣 Sites visited:

• #ChapultepecCastle (1785-1864) in #MexicoCity , #Mexico • “A visible reminder of Mexico’s bygone aristocracy, the ‘castle’ that stands atop Chapultepec Hill was begun in 1785 but not completed until after independence, when it became the national military academy. When #EmperorMaximilian and #EmpressCarlota arrived in 1864, they refurbished it as their residence. The east end of the castle preserves their palace, with sumptuously furnished salons opening onto an exterior deck that affords sweeping city views.
The castle sheltered Mexico’s presidents until 1939 when President #LázaroCárdenas converted it into the Museo Nacional de Historia.
On the upper floor, the opulent rooms are the work of #PorfirioDíaz , who in the late 19th-century was the first president to use the castle as residences. In the center is a patio where a tower marks the top of Chapultepec Hill, 45m above street level.”
Loved celebrating my 31st birthday, the International Day of Happiness and the March equinox at the Chapultepec castle in Mexico City🎈🏰
They began building Chapultepec castle in the late 1700’s and only completed it almost one hundred years later. The castle is known to be the most representative of Mexico’s heritage through times like the conquest, the Empire, the Independence, the Revolution and up until 1939, it was home to the Mexican president. They also found out I was coming to Mexico City so they cleared a room for me.
I realized on my birthday that I have been living in Mexico City and I have not been taking advantage of all the museums and cultural activities. I made a deal with myself that for the next few weeks I will be touring around Mexico really exploring my new home and all the beauty and museums they have!
My Uber driver mentioned that Mexico City is known for having the most museums in the world! Did you know that? I sure didn’t! They have over 150 museums! It’s time for me to start my museum mission this week!
Where’s your favourite castle or museum you’ve ever visited?
