In other health visit news: Audrey had her eyes tested yesterday. Audrey is long sighted, has a squint (lazy eye) and a stigmatism (that last bit is new information). She’s been wearing glasses since she was around 18 months old (maybe even earlier 🤔). I had a lazy eye as a child and had two operations to correct (straighten) my eyes, it was cosmetic, but meant a lot to me as being “cross-eyed” was no fun at school. I discussed Audrey’s options for an op and was made to realise that because it’s not as obvious when she’s wearing glasses (and she will always wear glasses), we could wait and let Audrey decide if it is affecting her life. So no rush. Next challenge: choosing new glasses as she needs bigger frames! #awesomeaudreyemily#theluckyfew#kidsinglasses#miraflex

My brain has turned to mush trying to get on top of all my admin before we leave on our trip, so I officially caption this photo: super cute little Mia being so adorable and making her parents laugh. Ooh and how cute is that dress?!
A flash back to happier times....when we weren’t riddled with ear infections, a respiratory tract infection and probable flu! Poor Tills is so poorley, it’s heart breaking seeing your baby sick! But the vacant staring into the distance is what really gets my anxiety pumping! Hopefully these antibiotics kick in over night and she is able to get some good rest!
Well it’s been beautiful this week in Perth giving us a sneak peek into spring. Back to rain though tomorrow.
How stunning are these images from @___themillers of the summer collection, coming end of September.
Very true 👍! From: @thepatchworkparent If your friend came over to your house for coffee and while getting comfortable, she put her shoes on your couch, would you point at her and say, “NO!”? Probably not.
I am not implying that we treat our children as friends. I am highlighting the respect that we show people we believe should have it. Shouldn’t our children have our respect, too? Indeed, if we are wanting to have their respect, we need to show them what respect looks like, feels like, acts like. •
Spent the day rearranging our main bedroom. I’m so pleased how it’s all coming together compared to when I first moved in! | before you continue scrolling don’t forget that you can use my code “darlinghoneybees10” to receive 10% at @thebirthposter, fast shipping worldwide!
“Take a picture of me with this cool thing mumma” he asks me constantly and then doesn’t pose in the slightest, I get it babes you like the natural look and I’m happy to be your personal photographer but if you could just try and keep vaguely still then that would be great 👍🏽📸
Yesterday we went to @sheffield_park_and_garden one of our fave National trusts but rather than head in to the gardens like we normally do we took the bikes across the parkland and it was absolutely beautiful! @nationaltrust really is the gift just keeps on giving!

Flash Sale Thursday|
Yes! It’s Thursday already. Are you looking forward to the weekend like I am? Anyway, here is our offer this week - pure linen trousers in nearly black. I love love love this colour so much as it’s not the usual black, but still very versatile.
So again, no code needed! Sale ends this Saturday.
Zander’s been asleep for a few hours, best day nap he’s had all week! Instead of cleaning I’ve been watching a million birth & labour vlogs, and they are honestly giving me all the feels!
What a beautiful experience it is to bring a life into the world, while not everyone has a ‘smooth’ labour it’s still so worth it! I would do it again and again a thousand times over just to be titled ‘mama’
Also, 100% crying over the fact Zander is getting closer and closer to turning one and I didn’t have him only a week ago 😭 #zanderskinner #exbpresets
My school run outfits are still being sponsored by @thetiredmamacollection 😂🙌🏽
Admittedly, this is what I’m wearing to collect. My drop off look is never anything fancier than active wear 😬) Collecting Aria from school is one of my favourite parts of the day, I love hearing about what she’s been up to & what she ate. Everything is so new & exciting for us both. How long till it wears thin for one of us? Probably when the dreaded homework starts 🥴😂 📚
Hands in the air for this baby party animal 🥳

Lucca has got the gift of the gab 🗣
This chatterbox has always been very social, but there was something about seeing him in this pub talking to everyone and drinking from a big glass that made him seem like an old man 👦🏼 #TheLifeOfLucca #TLOL

They ate a healthy breakfast, we had a nice play date, my toddler had a meltdown in public, I fed the kids CFA twice in 24hrs, I forgot to brush their teeth, I forgot a change of clothes, I forgot extra formula. He’s hungry. People are looking. Quick load them up, drive them home. We’re home. No one slept in the car. Good. Naps are on track! Oops I forgot to feed them lunch. I haven’t had breakfast. My toddler wakes up happy. Let’s eat. Pees in diaper. Forgot to take off the diaper. We’re Potty training. she goes again. Accidents happen. Roll up the living room rug. She’s playing so nicely! She’s so smart. Baby is hungry. Bottles are dirty. Clean them. Grab the formula. Formulas low. Pour. Shake. Serve. Toddler peed. Redirect. Reward. Set the kitchen timer this time. My baby fell down the stairs. I’m shaking. Call my spouse. Call a friend. Toddler uses potty. Celebrate. Mom voice, happy dance. What’s for dinner? Pizza. Again. Honeys home. “How was your day?” What do I say? A hug will do instead. #spokenword

Just three mamas and their babies... though admittedly only one of these babies is keeping everyone up all night long 🤪🙈😂❤️ This last week we were invited to an event with @motherhoodmaternity to celebrate all things pumping and breastfeeding and to check out their seamless nursing bra which is truly amazing (I linked it in my stories 😘) , I’ve been living in it ever since! I’ve shared more about my thoughts on breastfeeding and #MyMomTruths in collaboration with @motherhoodmaternity on my blog if you want to check it out 😘 #GoSeamless

Shiloh is out of eye surgery and all went great. We are waiting in recovery and hope to head home soon.
The next hardest thing will be keeping her out of a pool for a few weeks!
Thank you for all the prayers and encouraging words for both Shiloh and this Mama’s heart!

So long sweet summer✌🏼☀️. We left our hometown to head back home today and ended our vacation with some car trouble that left us stranded about half way. While I really miss my bed and the whole thing made me want to cry - we are making the best of one more little adventure with our kids. All 5 of us in one hotel room, being silly, rolling with it and making summer memories 🌊.

HOLD YOUR LOVED ONES CLOSE ❤️ These past couples weeks have been hard for our sweet little Asher. Many trips to the doctors, lots of pain and tears, and sleepless nights. My heart aches for my little guy. He is so strong! Shared a bit about what is going on with Asher in my stories. His first surgery will be next week. 🙏🏼

The summer she became a reader. 🎉
It’s been three years since I read Dr. Raymond Moore’s Better Late than Early. I was scared and overwhelmed trying to teach my confused five-year-old to read (because they must learn to read in kindergarten right?) We scrapped it all and started over; completely ditching formal academics and focusing on home life, outdoor play, and reading aloud. (That was a scary, but freeing step!) Turns out Dr. Moore was right...eight was the magic age for us.
Though it was worrisome to watch my girl struggle with phonics as others (including her younger sister) sped ahead into early readers and chapter books, I had to trust! Myself, my daughter, natural learning. At times I wondered if I was doing the right thing. This summer it clicked and I got to see my daughter discover the joy of the written word in her own way. (When I saw her reading like this as she wiggled all over the chair, I felt like it was a perfect representation of her learning style!) Special credit to Calvin and Hobbs comic books, the Bernstein Bears, and Arnold Lobel early readers on audio!
Anyone else have any favorite resources on unschooling or delayed academics? Have you had success with audio books or out-of-the-box reading material for a reluctant reader? #moriahacademy#readaloudrevival
