DAY 5 MEXICO MISSIONS TRIP: Here’s how our team builds a house in ONE day! (2 videos in time lapse)
We prep the frame down at the church and then drive it down in pieces down to the border and over to the site.
Then a team of about 8-10 people assembles the entire house in about 4-6 hours. Incredible!! It’s not a fancy house but it’s a huge blessing to those families who literally are living in the dirt under a tarp.
This trip we assembled our church’s 72nd loft house here! I personally have not been part of the building team but my older boys have helped build at least 5 of those 72 (including this one). Have you ever been a part of a building project like this, maybe in your community, with @habitatforhumanity or another awesome organization?

Title: "Finding Rest in Jesus"
Are you feeling worn out and burned out in your faith? Yeah, such things actually do happen to us. No believers are immune to that experience. I think at some point in our walk with God, we're going to feel like we have done everything we could, but yet we exhausted from all that we've been doing and not see God move in our lives. I have been there, many years ago. I left the church because I was feeling so worned out as a Christian. I was tired and I wanted out.
So yeap, I got out for a few years, backslidded in my faith. It was tough for that decade or so afterwards.
But it was only after I found Jesus again, and I mean really understanding all that He has done for us, all that He is and who He is to me. That is when I really learned to rely on Him, to trust in Him. When we really learn to walk with Jesus in our lives, our faith becomes...well, I was tempted to say 2nd nature, but really, it just becomes more of an ease.
Life is still filled with challenges, don't get me wrong. I wish things were better everyday. And I hope for it. But my faith in God has never been swayed since. It is really much easier when you are walking with Jesus by your side, in everything that you do. Amen.
We have everything we need in Jesus. Notice that He doesn’t say He provides the bread of life, but He is the bread of life. Anyone can have eternal, abundant life through Jesus.
Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
- John 6:35
it seems like our world is constantly creating new categories, but these efforts, meant to unify, seem to only further the divide.
the focus is wrong.
focusing on “us” is the problem. we’re searching for acceptance, but getting lost in ourselves. we define ourselves by what we like, don’t like, do, don’t do, are or aren’t, etc.
take a step back and readjust. defining ourselves by these differences doesn’t move us towards unity; they further us from it.
the gospel moves us towards what we do desperately seek. Jesus’ life, death and resurrection redefines us. life is no longer about us. acceptance isn’t dependent on us. it’s ALL about Jesus; who He is and what He’s done for us.
in light of His glorious grace,
we are sons,
we are daughters,
we are heirs,
we are one family.
taste and see His goodness and find the acceptance that your soul truly desires.
Christ can rid you of inner conflict. Man without God is always torn between two urges. His nature prompts him to do wrong, and his conscience urges him to do right. Antagonistic desires and crossed-up emotions keep him in a state of personal instability. Medical men have almost concluded that this conflict is the basis of much physical breakdown and nervous collapse. Many doctors now believe that among the contributing causes of the common cold are stress, tension, and inner conflict. Paul must have been in the midst of such a personal civil war when he cried, “O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death?” Then he answered his own question when he said, “I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Only Your Holy Spirit, Lord, can control my innermost feelings. Help me to be conscious of Your presence this day.

Jesus, I want you to be first above all. Reveal to me whatever is competing for that right now in my life. Show me what it looks like to keep you at the center of all that I do. Help me to not neglect the priority of your mission to the world around me. Amen.
Then he said to another, “Follow me.” “Lord,” he said, first let me go bury my father.” But he told him, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and spread the good news of the kingdom of God.”

We hear from Holy Spirit that it’s not our job to worry, that it‘s not our part to play, not our role in the world and in God’s Kingdom to fret and stress about everything. And so all those things we worry about—having enough money, having enough security, being a good parent, fighting our addictions, releasing our idols, fighting illness and disease, eradicating evil and suffering, healing the environment, ending war—these things become like weights chained to our ankles. Because while it might be that we’re meant to work toward some of these things, we are never meant to carry anxiety about their outcomes. We aren’t built by God to carry those kinds of burdens. And we’re not able to, actually—not without adverse consequences.
What anxiety do you carry? Name it. Share it here. Let's pray about surrendering that now. (And how about clicking "like" after a friend's sharing indicates you are praying for them. Sound good?) #rushpodcast

This evening's #BeInspired challenge - do something to intentionally unwind and relax before bed.⠀⠀
Imagine snuggling into your bed, feeling relaxed and satisfied with your day, turning out the lights, and quickly falling into a peaceful and restful night’s sleep. Sounds like a dream, doesn’t it!?⠀⠀
For most of us, the reality looks quite a bit different – we collapse into bed exhausted, yet feeling like we’ve accomplished nothing, minds spinning so fast we can’t even close our eyes, let alone get a restful night’s sleep. No fun!⠀⠀
Fortunately though, for many of us, restless nights and groggy mornings can be overcome by making a few simple adjustments to our evening routines. By consciously stepping away from the busyness of our days, unplugging, and intentionally slowing down, we can transform our nights from restless tossing and turning into soothing, dreamy nights of sleep.⠀⠀
A few ideas - read a relaxing book, shut off your phone a few hours before bed, or spend a few minutes outside right before turning in to enjoy the relaxing beauty of the night. ⠀
So then - what one thing will you do this evening to unwind?? 😴🌙⠀⠀
If you need a few ideas to get you started, hop over to the blog at Beautyandgraceshop.com/blogs/grace-notes/11-evening-routine-ideas⠀⠀

In 2016 when the Chicago Cubs baseball team won the World Series for the first time in more than a century, some sources said that five million people lined the parade route and gathered at a downtown rally to celebrate the championship.
Victory parades are not a modern invention. A famous ancient parade was the Roman Triumph, in which victorious generals led a procession of their armies and captives through crowded streets.
Such parade imagery was likely in Paul’s mind when he wrote to the Corinthian church thanking God for leading believers “as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession” (2 Corinthians 2:14). I find it fascinating that in this imagery, followers of Christ are the captives. However, as believers we’re not forced to participate, but are willing “captives,” willingly part of the parade led by the victorious, resurrected Christ. As Christians, we celebrate that through Christ’s victory, He’s building His kingdom and the gates of hell will not prevail against it (Matthew 16:18). When we talk about Jesus’s victory on the cross and the freedom it gives believers, we help spread the “aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere” (2 Corinthians 2:14). And whether people find the aroma to be the pleasing reassurance of salvation or the odor of their defeat, this unseen but powerful fragrance is present everywhere we go.
As we follow Christ, we declare His resurrection victory, the victory that makes salvation available to the world. From odb.org 📷 @lhackett

The Bible makes clear that sin disrupts the divine-human relationship. God has a deep desire rooted in love to restore the relationship disturbed by sin. How shall that be done? It can’t be done by us. Our best efforts might produce a fairly genuine, although also fairly self-centered, apology. But how does an apology pay the just price of sin? It doesn’t.
So what is going to happen to our sin? God the Divine, who cannot leave sin unpunished, comes to the rescue of the sinner by atoning or satisfying justice for sin. God’s atoning work was done through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Grace. God shows His grace, mercy, and love to us, daily. We don’t always remember that. Sometimes we get so caught up with all of the “things” that we forget how much He loves us. He never stops showing us, pursuing us, and loving us. We just have to stop and look. Give yourself some grace. Give those around you grace. We all need it!

Your Perspective matters. God could be blessings you but if you have the wrong perspective you won't be able to see it.
God could be preparing you but if you have the wrong persepcitve you wont be able to see it.
God could be testing you but if you have the wrong perspective you wont be able to see it. Perspective is power. *
