Out shooting crows the other day turned into more of a training session for Bracken! I believe puppies should be puppies so up until now she’s only had the basics. I’ve also been told numerous times (by Sam 👀) that I’ve mothered her too much and she will never be a working dog... well Sam I will accept your apology and hear the words “I might be wrong” whenever you’re ready! 😂
Although it was her first time out shooting with us she’s been coming to the clay ground with me since she was 6 months old. Not fazed by gunshot one bit. She calmly sat in the hide when told, flushed out a muntjac (apparently accidental but I’m going to take that one as a success) and mastered walking to heel. For her first time out at 9 months old I’m very happy and can see future potential! Hopefully she will be joining us in Scotland on our wildfowling trip in December! 🦆
Let training commence! 💥
Honestly I am DRENCHED right now. But I am so 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐄𝐗𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐃 to have started phase 2 of my 100 workout program.
To be real for a minute, the perfectionist in me hates that it took 26 days to do 20 workouts. But when I think back to where I was when I started- before I started...
The Kayle of 2017 wouldn’t have even been able to do that. The Kayle of 2018, after I started my fitness journey, would have taken those days off, used it as an excuse to quit, restart, and then quit again. She would have used her mom visiting as an excuse instead of an opportunity to have a workout buddy (we only missed one day while she was here! Progress!) and yeah, maybe I could have done better. But we have to remember that as long as we are doing the best we can at this point in time- we are still doing our best.
So girl, if you’re a perfectionist and don’t like to modify bc of injuries (hello wearing 𝘢𝘭𝘭 the braces today), and feel like taking time of and rest days are completely screwing you- I feel ya girl. Because I’m right there with you.
Just don’t forget to take a minute today to remind yourself that you’re human, and give yourself some grace because you are doing YOUR best right now. And let your best build up to better with every little step you take today💕

Lingmoor Fell reaches a modest height of 469 m and divides the valleys of Great Langdale and Little Langdale. The fell's name originates from the Old Norse word lyng meaning “heather covered” - love that!
