Today marks our 4th year investing towards achieving FI.
We no longer check what the market is doing. It took a good couple of years to be comfortable with the emotional rollercoaster and to embrace the ups and downs. After all, we're in this for the long haul.
1️⃣ Total return: $652.24
2️⃣ Total return: $1,321.85
3️⃣ Total return: $6,709.85
4️⃣ Total return: $32,237.19
We continue to reinvest ALL dividends to date and haven't yet had to live off our investments, although, of course, our ultimate goal is to do exactly that.

Everyone is amped to leave their 9-5 on hopes and dreams without a plan ! 🚨This is the worse thing you can do ! 🚨

1. Pay off your smallest balance first.
Some people are a little daunted paying off their highest interest rate accounts, because often these carry the biggest balances. If paying off high interest credit cards seems like too much to handle, paying off accounts with the lowest balances can make working to reduce debt seem more manageable. With each debt you pay, you free up money and build momentum to tackle your biggest debts.
🙌 When we first bought our house in 2014 our interest per month was over $1,700 🤯 .
Our interest and account fees are now in the $200's! In 6 months time it will be in the $100's and in 16 months time...it will be $0 🎈🎉
Do you have an offset account? If the answer is no, then get one!
Had a lovely day today, we cooked a big brunch at home and then headed out to buy a Gnome ($17) to take to Gnomesville! I haven’t been since I was a kid and T has never seen it. We dropped off our little buddy with his friends in the Forrest and then visited a brewery on the way home. Where we had a few drinks and shared a burger ($58). Then I can for a nap and didn’t do anything on my to do list, but a Sunday well spent brings a week of content 💫

These photos are ridiculously terrible...I took them at night and only had a laundry clothes horse to hang them on 🤦🏻♀️ But here’s my work capsule wardrobe in full!
I love every item, almost every item goes with the other, they’re all classic styles, and it’s insanely easy to select outfits from 👌🏼
We have...all tops, all skirts, all pants, all dresses, all coats/jackets, all shoes and then all bottoms and shoes combined.
Full details are saved to my highlight 😘 23 items in total!
I didn’t realise how weird we’d become until I saw people’s faces when I told them we were paying off HECS debt. Paying off US student loans? Sure, they’re in crisis (and that’s still weird too!)... but HECS? An interest free loan? Are you guys crazy? 🤨
I was sick and tired of thinking about how we were debt free except... always “except” and suddenly I wasn’t happy with “except” anymore. So we did the weird thing and, you guys, it’s amazing. To truly live the life we tell people about, the debt free life. It is one of my life’s great joys (no really!).
It’s not for everyone. Being weird takes an internal strength that I never knew I had, but pushing through until the end was one of the best decisions we ever made.
Life is not a problem to be solved, but a reality to be experienced. What we think determines what happens to us, so if we want to change our lives, we need to stretch our minds. Now back to Rhiannon... Since starting my vlog and instagram account, I have been flooded with messages from people I have bored silly talking about my love of personal finance, only to hear that it led to some serious thought for them and then to a really positive change in their money habits and plans.
Although some may roll their eyes, hopefully I can help some people who have been through similar struggles and are looking for some inspiration on how to turn their finances around and take charge.
It takes a while to identify the problems, another while to think about them, time to create a plan and then start following it. Unless you’re already a money master and then 👏 hurrah 👏 for you! If you’re not a money master or if you have consumer debt, keep that brain ticking along and think about what you could do if you got out of the consumer debt spiral that our society encourages.
Have a great Sunday, be kind to yourselves and remember that the journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.

I managed to have a free night out at Belfast Vital last night 🙌🏻 I wasn’t drinking as I was driving home and my boyfriend also won our tickets which means I didn’t spend a penny but I still had a good night 😊🙌🏻
There's still 122 days until Christmas, but I have just placed a big order for the bulk of my Christmas pressie shopping! I have decided to get some custom cartoon style portraits done for family members. I spent some time browsing Etsy to find the right style and price that I was after and have just submitted and paid for my orders. I spent around $500 for 9 couple/family portraits. They included a mix of Simpsons character styles, Kawaii cartoon style, and sophisticated. I'm really excited to see how they turn out. I will need to pay for printing & some frames for the portraits, but otherwise it is just $55 / couple/family. I'm also giving each person a print of last year's family Christmas photo in a $2 Kmart frame, as well as a personalised mug (I posted about these earlier in the year, I needed a use for an over supply of brand new white mugs!).

I am so proud of myself! Yesterday I headed up to harbour town to buy some art supplies I needed for uni and I managed to pick up all I needed for $30!!! The paints I was looking at from other stores were over $100 but I tracked down this amazing deal and got them so cheap! Love a good bargain even if the drive takes over an hour it was still worth it 🙌🙌
And I also walked into many clothing stores and left with nothing so feeling pretty good about myself today! ✨

Artificially created illusions of space combined with customized furniture and a few striking accessories truly created the desired interior for this client who's small passage space was transformed into a very modern and sophisticated lobby area! With only a few focal points of interest in place, this certainly assisted with making the space appear less busy whilst creating a sense of spaciousness and elegance. We also chose to "borrow space" from the outside by using glass entrance doors to ensure maximum lighting with an uninterrupted view of the outside and a harmonious flow from the inside!
Buying a car with cash is so daunting to me! It's going to be my next big goal after paying off our debt and saving an emergency fund, and I'm not going to lie, I'm nervous!
But these people give me hope! Jenny from @Jenny_eats_doughnuts and her husband put in the hard work and patience and #SavedUpPaidCash for a family car in 2018!
How'd they do it? They saved $100-300/mo for 3 years and then traded in her Jeep to buy this 2016 VW Tiguan for $17,998. That is INCREDIBLE!
What do you think of this? Thumbs up or thumbs down? Could you do it?

2 Words... Generational Wealth. 2 more. Get Intentional.
I saw this photo of us and thought this is the most accurate photo of our relationship. My husband is helping me walk in heels. And then I started thinking of all the ways he’s helped me pay off my debt. He helped me cash buy my sons first car. I had to have his help in getting a condo 3hrs from home for my work. He helped me get a car. Besides financial, he helps me cook because I can never remember what sauce or spice to use, or what knife. So I call him at work asking how to season my sweet potato or my tofu. He helps me stay on track with diet and fitness goals. He even helps me pick my cloths, which may sound silly but I had an abusive relationship where clothing was a big deal and I have a lot of stress/anxiety shopping because of this. He helps me, continuously.
