Our pastry shop closed in 2014 after being in business for over 110 years and the family sold the building it was in as well. The new developer wanted to pay respect to the history of the building and the pastry shop so he moved the sign to the roof where new residents can see it amongst the skyline. Luckily, these pictures were sent to our friend, Rob, who was working with the developer and he sent them along. I love these so much and not a day goes by I don’t think of the many memories in this building and even on this roof or the treasured times spent in the shop with my grandparents. Thank you again, Rob! #love#family#history#business#manhattan#eastvillage#nyc#derobertis
congratulate @koichitakadaarchitects Sydney Australia, on winning #thinkbrickaward2019 for 'ARC' building Sydney, inspired by Ululu in central Australia. Another well-deserved medal to your growing cabinet of international architectural prizes.
Brining the 🔥 on Monday. This Khua Kling beef packs heavy in both the heat and flavor departments. But even if you’re not a spice lover you’re going to have a great meal at @fishcheeksnyc, my favorite Thai restaurant in NYC. Don’t miss these incredible crab & pork noodle or the insanely addictive sliced pork cheeks 😋 And they actually have incredible cocktails too 🍹

A whole market of cupcakes? Yes, please. The East Village is just filled with these quirky little specialty shops, and I'm always discovering something new and fab. Happy Wednesday! #ilovenyc#eastvillage#prettycitynewyork

Good morning people, happy Wednesday! Do you like #murals ? Is there a specific one you really like in NYC? I recently came across this one, author @kobrastreetart , and located in the #eastvillage that I do really like! 😃
- the East Village is a neighbor in Manhattan east of Third Avenue and between 14th Street on the north and Houston Street on the South.
- this area was originally a farm owned by Dutch Governor-General Wouter van Twiller. Next, Peter Stuyvesant and his family owned this land from 1651 for over seven generations until the great Irish and German immigration of the 1840s and 1850s 🤗
