Combine the rich flavours of balsamic and beetroot in a healthy beef dish that feels indulgent yet is low fat, low calorie and contains three of your five-a-day.
(Serves 2, Prep time 15 mins, Cooking time 25 mins)
1.Beat the steak with a rolling pin until it is about the thickness of two £1 coins, then cut into two equal pieces. In a bowl, mix the balsamic, thyme, grated garlic, half the oil and a grinding of black pepper. Place the steaks in the marinade and set aside.
2.Heat the remaining 1 tsp oil in a large non-stick frying pan, and fry the onions and garlic for 8-10 mins, stirring frequently, until soft and starting to brown. Meanwhile, steam the beans for 4-6 mins or until just tender.
3.Push the onion mixture to one side in the pan. Lift the steaks from the bowl, shake off any excess marinade, and sear in the pan for 2½-3 mins, turning once, until cooked but still a little pink inside. Pile the beans onto plates and place the steaks on top. Add the beetroot wedges, olives and remaining marinade to the pan and cook briefly to heat through, then spoon on top and around the steaks. Add the rocket and serve.

FYI - if I’m walking around your garden you should know that I’m not really all that interested in flowers, shrubs or trees.
But if there’s edibles, it’s is a totally different story... And if there is gorgeous ruby red rhubarb hiding in amongst it... IT WILL BE coming home with me - you’ve been warned 😂
Rhubarb muffins and Rhubarb Crumble it is for dinner. Happy Friday y’all 😘
Diving into breakfast like 🏊🏻♀️ We don’t need any big conversations about what’s for breakfast around our house - we love to start our day with granola!
Our toddler Wrennyn is all about granola with a side of yogurt (not mixed) and a side of fruit
I like mine with a little splash of milk and some fruit sprinkled on top, a big ol cup of tea
And Joel is all about a big bowl with a healthy pour of milk and some coffee on the side.
We’ve been working our way through all 4 flavours of @BobsRedMill Pan-Baked Granola and we are loving the Coconut Spice right now. The perfect amount of spices, and coconut chips, it tastes literally like Fall in a bowl and is hands down the closest I’ve had to homemade. Naturally flavoured and 5g of sugar or less per serving 🙌🏻
Fun fact: I cannot survive without coffee in the morning and yoga in my week! The coffee doesn't have to be caffeinated, it is truly about the luxury of having a cup of coffee at home in the morning. Yoga helps soothe my brain and ground me.
Acceptance for those things in the world I cannot change for the better is the most frustrating thing for me. Yoga definitely allows me the space to let it go, and let others take on some of the burden so we can jointly improve the world.
Coffee is so others don't have to deal with an uncaffinated Bonni ... she's not very nice ;)
👋 People often ask. How did you get into the Aromatherapy field? #blastfromthepast 💫 •
For the first 10 years of my adult working life - I was a self employed free-lance word processing operator and legal secretary in Toronto. Then I got married, had kids and moved to a rural area where there were no jobs. Life, wife, kids, one income, bills - I needed to earn some money. I also had some minor problems with my health, joint pain and digestive issues so I started to see a Reflexologist. The treatments that I received were not only stress relieving but also very educational. I began to slowly change some of my lifestyle health habits - and I began to feel better. So I decided to take some courses and discovered that the body has a remarkable way of taking care of itself if you take the time to nurture it well - physically, spiritually and from a positive psychology perspective.
After I received various certifications - I launched myself into a career as a holistic health care practitioner and discovered that helping other people was quite rewarding - while at the same time I was able to supplement our family income.
I have always had a keen sense of smell and deep down inside I believe that it was my destiny to help people feel better. This probably stemmed from the fact that I admired a man - who was kind, hardworking, really cared for people, who was frankly honest, he was my great-uncle and also happened to be a Physician.👨⚕️
I asked him when I was 30 years old if I should pursue a holistic health career and he said YES - because the number one cause of disease is stress and the key to good health is preventative medicine.

To prevent and reduce levels of inflammation, aim for an overall healthy diet. The Mediterranean diet for example which is high in fruits, vegetables, nuts, whole grains, and healthy oils.
In addition to lowering inflammation, a more natural, less processed diet can have noticeable effects on not only your physical but also emotional health. A healthy diet is beneficial for reducing the risk of chronic diseases, as well as improving mood and overall quality of life. You'll find the better you eat the better you feel
Pie with a twist!
Try something different for dinner tonight with our curried king prawn pie with green beans and mash topping. Comforting and filling, it'll soon become a favourite, we are sure of it 🥧
I’m not a straight shot of green matcha kinda girl. I need a splash of vanilla and a little honey blended over ice..
Be sure to mix your tsp of matcha powder in 1/4 cup boiling water first so it blends smooth!

Don’t forget, every summer we love to see you at the @millarvillemarket , every Saturday from Mid-June to Mid-October! 🍎🥦🧀 Enjoy your local growers, farmers, bakers, artists and more!
Your immune system reacts when your body recognizes anything that is foreign—such as an invading microbe, plant pollen, or chemical. This can trigger a process called inflammation. Intermittent bouts of inflammation directed at truly threatening invaders protect your health and help you.
However, if inflammation persists, day in and day out, even when you are not threatened by a foreign invader it can become your enemy. Many major diseases that plague us—including cancer, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, depression, and Alzheimer's—have been linked to chronic inflammation.
One of the most powerful tools to combat inflammation comes not from the pharmacy, but from the food you eat. several studies have shown that components of foods or beverages can have anti-inflammatory effects. Choosing the right anti-inflammatory foods, can help you to reduce your risk of illness. However Consistently picking the wrong ones, can accelerate the inflammatory disease process.
God is good and I’m going to tell you why. 1. I witnessed a really bad car accident earlier and it could’ve been me but it wasn’t. EDIT: the people in the car accident were okay. 2. I drove home in a really bad thunderstorm and anything could’ve happened but I made it home safely. I cried all the way home this evening because I don’t believe that these things are a coincidence. I don’t believe that I’m lucky to be alive. I don’t believe in luck at all actually. I believe in blessings. I believe that I’m blessed and I’m thankful for God’s blessings. I believe that I have this platform to tell you these things. I hope you don’t mind.

➡️Patizon oloupat, rozkrojit, vydlabat z něj semínka a nastrouhat. Osolit a nechat chvilku odstát, poté vymačkat přebytečnou vodu. Nastrouhaný patison promíchat s vejci, moukou a prolisovaným česnekem, najemno nasekanou cibulkou a šunkou, vše ochutit solí a pepřem. Na trošce rozpáleného oleje smažit placičky z obou stran dozlatova.
(nahraďte patizón cuketou a máte skvělé cukeťáky 😊)
GARLIC BUTTER MEATBALLS WITH LEMON ZUCCHINI NOODLES -
1/2 lb ground turkey meat
1/2 lb ground pork meat or substitute chicken
1/2 cup shredded cheese of your choice
4 cloves garlic, grated + 2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon red crushed chili pepper flakes, optional
1 crumbled bouillon cube, optional
Salt and fresh cracked black pepper, to taste
1 cup fresh chopped cilantro (or parsley), divided
3 tablespoons butter
4 medium zucchini, spiralized
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1 tablespoon hot sauce
1. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey and ground pork, cheese, grated garlic, Italian seasoning, bouillon cube, red chili pepper flakes, chopped cilantro and black pepper. Mix well with your hands or fork and form medium balls. Arrange on a plate and set aside.
2. Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat. Cook the meatballs for 8 – 10 minutes on all sides, until browned and cooked through. While cooking, baste the meatballs with the mix of butter and juices. Remove to a clean plate and set aside.
3. In the same skillet melt remaining tablespoon butter; then add lemon juice, hot sauce, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes (if you want). Add the zucchini noodles and cook for 3 or 4 minutes, stirring regularly, until zucchini is done but still crisp and juices have reduced a bit. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper and garnish with more cilantro or parsley if you like.
4. Push zucchini on one side of the skillet and add the meatballs back to the pan and reheat for a minute or two. Serve immediately with a lemon slice on the side. Enjoy! #foodfuly
Welcome to Day 13 of #HackYourBody
Vegetable oils are bad.
Bad for your health.
Bad for the environment.
Vegetable oils are oils that have been extracted from various seeds. The most common include rapeseed (canola oil), soybean, corn, sunflower, peanut, etc. Unlike coconut oil or olive oil that can be extracted by pressing, these new-fangled oils have to be extracted in very unnatural ways.
Vegetable oils are bad because they contain very high levels of polyunsaturated fats (PUFAs). Did you know that the fat content of the human body is about 97% saturated and monounsaturated fat?
Our body needs fat for rebuilding cells and hormone production. And it can only use what we give it.
Polyunsaturated fats are highly unstable. They oxidize easily. These oxidized fats cause inflammation and mutation in cells. That oxidation is linked to all sorts of issues from cancer, heart disease, endometriosis, PCOS, etc.
PUFAs are bad news. And it’s in your best interests to stay away from them.
The problem is this vegetable oil is everywhere. Most of the products you buy are coated with this oil as well.
So start reading labels & if it says vegetable oil, stay away from it like a plague.
Swop your vegetable oil for ghee, butter, extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil or oils that can be cold-pressed.
If there is one dietary change you want to make, this is it.
