Kinda hard to see but this was a photo we took two ish years ago in Estes Park. I was digging through my film to put some in my binder and found this.
At this time I was also incredibly ill, but in another way. I had to drop out of esthetics school for the first time shortly after this. You can see in my skin that my hormones were an absolute mess. You can always tell that way for me. I had a beard of large red cystic acne. It hurt! I was in excruciating pain and would bleed on my period for close to a month. I wound up in a hospital because I also ended up with an infection, had to have IV antibiotics, ended up with a reaction to the meds and had welts down my legs. This was a rough as hell time. I rarely run to an ER but I absolutely had to mid vacation. I haven’t been back to an ER since, thank god 🙏🏻 I’m grateful as hell for that.
I tell people my endometriosis/pcos is kind of a lurking beast. I don’t tend to be overtly symptomatic for a long time. I have the facial hair, weight gain, and longer heavier periods but every so often I get smacked in the face and end up so incredibly ill.
Now, the point of this post isn’t necessarily to lament but to say that I am so grateful I have this part of my chronic illness beast in tow for now. I have other stuff going on but it’s not this. We’ve tried some various meds to treat it and I’ve kind of found nothing helps it much. But time and stress relief and symptom treatment(acne meds, diet, pain management) has been the best for me.
I do fear this will smack me in the face again, but so far so good.
I do have to be grateful I’ve moved from this. When you’re in the midst of any flare up, it can feel like the end of the world. But I got through this, I feel much better in this regard. And I can get through this too!
As I keep saying, dad by day. I got this.

I had the honor of capturing Laurel & Caleb's engagement session this week in Estes Park! These two, always ready for adventure, hiked with me at Hermit Park Open Space to some incredible mountain views! Their session is live on the blog (link in bio) 💕
Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday! Unfortunately I was super sick but I had amazing friends and my amazing husband by my side making me feel so much better! #feelsgreattobe28#imold#estespark#colorado

Also this was taken with my long lens and I maintained a safe distance from the herd until they cleared the area.
