Up in the water... During the heat of the day bites may be hard to come by on the bottom but there are floats available in the Jurassic tackle shop.
Nearly two weeks on and I’m still looking back at our photos from Fiji and wish we were back there!! We had such an amazing time visiting the Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple and The Garden of the sleeping Giant! 🌸
The temple really made me appreciate other people’s religions and cultural. I am not religious in any way but I felt so welcomed and peaceful walking around this beautiful place. We meet some lovely people who just opened up their hearts and were so happy to tell us about their faith and temple. I have never seen something so beautiful. 🌺
Then off to the garden we went, which was just stunning. A tropical rain forest with the most amazing orchids. 🌴 #fiji#fijiholiday#familyholiday#srisivasubramaniyatemple#gardenofthesleepinggiant#igmnz#alexjamespage#beauitful#familyfun#nzfamily
10 days away - in beautiful weather, not having to think about anything happening at home, with my 4 favourite people - was exactly what I needed.
My heads been all over the place the last few months and everything felt like it was getting on top of me.
But now I’m home, with a clear mind and feeling so much better about everything. ♥️
And to top it off, I came home to a nice clean house, thanks to my Mum @kim.rootes1 and Nan.. and @emma_rootes trying on all my clothes. 😂
P.S. @willow_swim - we had at least 7 people ask where the girls swimwear was from while we were holidaying. 🙌🏼💕
Some times you just have to put one foot in front of the other and go (Ad)
This is @arbraska in Rawdon, Quebec. It’s part zip line course and part treetop adventure trek. You can spend all day traversing rope bridges, obstacles, high wires, and zip-lining. There were courses at an easy, moderate, and difficult level so there were plenty of outdoor fun for all.

There are a million things I could have given to Katie for her birthday this year (lord knows she’s mentioned twice that many things haha) and we have some great presents ready to give her next weekend on her actual birthday but I know my girl and she’s a whole lot like her mummy so I sneakily organised for her to spend the day with her two best friends who she has missed daily since we moved to Canberra. We followed it up with surprise family ice cream and sunshine at Huskisson then dinner, playing and cake with her Aunties, Uncles and cousins. We were meant to have a long weekend on the coast but squeezed it all into one day so that her Daddy could come with us too. Katie has declared it to be her best birthday ever 😍 I cannot thank our favourite people enough for freeing up their day for us to help celebrate Katie’s birthday, it meant the absolute world to Katie and to us too #lucky#birthdaymonthlikehermum#peoplearebetterthangifts#familyholiday#bestfriendsarethebest
Every day we get asked questions about travelling with a baby from new parents, expectant parents, or from those who’d love to become parents one day. Now that we’ve had almost a year of travel with our Oliver, we wanted to share what we’ve learned with a ✨three part blog!✨ Click the link in our bio for part one of Travelling with a Baby. (Second and third parts coming soon).
Real talk: we felt a lot of pressure to keep things the same after Ollie arrived. Pressure to travel just as much, adventure just as much, and continue producing the same type of content. We thought this pressure was coming from our followers, from the brands we work with, and from our own brand that we’ve been so lucky to build over the last 4 years. Turns out...the pressure was coming from ourselves. Cause how could things NOT change?! Of course our content had to change, because VancityWild has always been about us, our lifestyle, and our passion for exploration and travel. With Ollie along for the ride, our natural progression was to share our adventures as a family of three. It was a bit scary, (okay, more like anxiety inducing), to acknowledge that some people would no longer relate to us, and to feel as though we had to be experts on travelling with a child. It became way more fun once we let that worry go and just be us! So those of you who have stuck with us, thank you for allowing us to evolve, and for continuing to follow along and support us in what has been the biggest adventure of all. What a crazy, amazing, wonderful, life changing year. 💛
