Craig has taught me more about photography than anyone else and the tips and tricks he’s given me over the past year and a half are probably the reason why I was able to stick through the tedious process of learning how to be a photographer.
Craig and his wife Hilary are an incredible duo (and two of my favorite friends) with 10 years of experience and I’m so grateful to learn from y’all!
Snapped this one the morning after arguably one of the best storm dumps we had this season on Baldy. The snow levels were the lowest I can remember and the San Gabriel range looked spectacular. The first light hitting the city from the side always looks amazing but it does tend to wash out a lot of the mountain details. A fair trade off I guess. Always amazing how the green hills provide layers of depth leading out to LA. Nikon D750, Nikkor 70-200, f/11, 1/15 sec, ISO-50
We started out our day hiking at the end of the valley down below these lakes. After a couple hours of hiking, with a side trip to the lake in the distance we took a break here for a snack. We watched the clouds move and listened to the occasional sound of avalanches before continuing up to our hight point of the day of 4800m. Each day was a physical challenge, rewarded with stunning views like this. —
