You are hard working and deserving.🌿Remember if you seek His will in all you do that He will show you which path to take. Figure out your financial goals, set some personal goals and He will help you achieve them.🙌🏾What are some financial goals you want to achieve before summer is over?
I chat to so many people about their money-related hopes and dreams. Do you know what the most popular #dream is? It's the ability to leave your day job! I love seeing women in business working on their money mindset. It does seem to have become quite popular in the last few years, which is great because for real financial success you need to have the right money mindset. .
What disheartens me is when I hear them say they are still working on their money mindset (which let's face it, isn't a quick fix for most of us), but they are still struggling with their finances. It's quite simple, you can't work on your mindset and not deal with the practical side of money and expect to see huge shifts in your wealth. '
For example, if you have credit card debt, then you must make a plan to ensure that it is repaid, and of course take the necessary action such as setting up direct debit payments, having discussions with lenders if the situation warrants this, and amending your budget so that you can devote an appropriate level of money to debt repayment. Yes, it means you will make sacrifices in the short term, and yes, this may sting a little. In fact this was a topic I wrote about in my contributing chapter to @drjoevitale book, The Abundance Factor. .
It's one of many areas of your practical finances that you need to get under control, whilst working on your money mindset. It's with this in mind that I originally wrote my book, Financial Fitness: Get Smart About Your Money which was published in February 2018, and it's why I'm passionate about helping women improve their money management as well as money mindset. .
The two concepts are not separate, you need to work on both if you want financial success. .

“We are Tom and Tracy Engelson and our financial journey started in the spring of 2017. After years of fighting over whether to do a budget, quarreling over unplanned expenses and never having enough money left over, we had it. We found out that Grace Covenant was holding FPU, and at the same time we were looking to move into a different church as well. So we attended Grace for FPU but ended up staying for the church family. We found a bible teaching church that welcomes everyone no matter the season of life they’re in.
As far as our “why” it comes down to a few things, but the biggest is time with family. As parents of three boys, we love spending time with them and watching them grow. As a dad and an auto technician, 50 hours plus are the norm in the industry, and extra time while the kids are awake is hard to find. Tracy is a stay at home mom, and she is overly busy with a majority of the day to day parenting duties while I provide for the family.
The other part of our “why” is to purchase a larger home for our family and enjoy some traveling. Lastly, God calls us to be good stewards of our money and blessings in life, and helping teach our children and others to win with their finances is one of our passions. More free time will allow us both to help share this message and be able to help others just as we once needed help.”
Thank you, Tom & Tracy, for joining us for this week’s #WHYdayFriday ! Can you relate to Tom and Tracy’s story? What’s your WHY and how do you stay motivated?

I’ve been on hundreds of TV shows across the country, but it’s funny—I still get a touch of nerves before I go on live. Mostly because I just never know how the interview will go— will the the reporter stick to the talking points or go off track? Or, what if a fire alarm goes off in the studio in the middle of my talking point— do I stop talking or keep going and pretend nothing is happening? True story. This actually happened to me!
Prepping ahead always helps me stay calm and confident. But no matter how good I feel about the topic and my message points, there are some things I can’t prepare for or control like running out of gas in the middle of no where with no money or card (okay, I could’ve totally prevented this 🙄) and getting stuck in stand still traffic that could have made me miss my spot.
This is life though. And, being able to power through those unexpected and less than perfect moments make us stronger.
If nothing else, my cousin sure taught me the value of a dollar because she was also the first person I lent money to as well. Unfortunately she didn’t even pay minimum wage, lol. But real talk, this is when I started my positive money habits. This is prior to me getting an allowance, so spending money coming to me was rare. I would save the change I would get for months at a time and every so often when I would go to the corner store, I would buy candy. I was only 7/8 so my needs were pretty simple, lol. What was your first side hustle? Comment below. #focusedspender

Had a very productive day helping my brother with a photoshoot in town, followed by lunch then a train ride home and a two hour nap!
Woke up after 6 and felt like I wasted the day but I still managed to get some uni work done, clean my rooms, organise my draws a little, and plan my outfits for the weekend! 🙌 here is a pretty flower I seen in the adelaide himeji gardens💖
If you need to gain control of your finances take a long hard look at your current lifestyle to determine if it is helping or hindering you from gaining control of your finances. Be honest because if you don’t you are only hurting yourself. Once you come to and accept the realization that you must change your actions if you want different results then and only then can you begin to change.
What can you change today? What do you need to do differently to get reach your desired goals? Hoping and praying is not a strategy that alone will get you there. You must put in the work required... Have you ever stopped and asked yourself what should I be doing?

BEST Financial Advice (When it Comes to Credit): If you have the funds, pay it off as fast as you can.💳
It’s wise to use credit to invest in opportunities that will allow you to pay that back and then some.💡Avoid swiping more than you can afford.

Don’t underestimate the impact getting into a financial arrangement with someone you’re in a relationship with can have on you and your relationships.
Many principles can help you navigate finances when it comes to your relationships and I have highlighted some on the blog this week.
Investing is a great way to build wealth but in order to reap its full benefits, there are a few things you need to have in place. A lot of people question paying off debt before investing. However, if you have high-interest debt, in the big picture of your finances, it makes sense to pay it off first before you start ramping up on your investing! For instance, if the average (long-term) rate of return on the stock market is 8% but you have a credit card balance at 20% interest, you are actually losing money this is because even though your investments earn you 8% you still have to pay 20% in interest on your debt! It makes more sense to pay off the debt first. That being said, if your employer offers a match for contributing to their employer-sponsored retirement plan, you want to contribute enough to get the full match at the minimum. Why? Because the match is essentially free money and a 100% return on your investment!

Oh gosh I'm getting nervous!!
As I have mentioned I'm having some struggles with centrelink since changing degree and it's been about a fortnight since I got my last (smaller then normal) payment so I've been using my savings to pay all my bills and everyday expenses but all I have left is $97 for the foreseeable future.. I'm a little nervous that I won't get anymore payments and that I'll have to stress to pay any coming up bills but fingers crossed I can get it sorted soon!! 😫🤞
This is just making me realise how much I can't wait to be earning an income and not rely on centrelink, I'm so greatful that i have the opportunity to get paid while I study but I just can't wait to have a career in a field that I will love! 💖
