This little lady will be starting 'BIG' school in 4 days 😮 I really don't know how I feel about this 😟🤷♀️ so many emotions:
1️⃣ Elated, that her teacher will have to deal with her attitude for a couple of hours a day, giving me a little bit of peace 😏🙌
2️⃣ Excited, to start this new chapter of her life with her 😍
3️⃣ Scared, that she won't settle in and will hate school 😥
4️⃣ Terrified, that she won't make any friends and will be left out 😨
5️⃣ Devastated, that we will be restricted to school holidays now for booking trips away 😯🤨🙄😂
⭐️It's hard to believe that all these little cuties are moving on to Kindergarten soon! Time sure flies when you're having fun and making friends!
⭐️We will miss each and every one of our preschool graduates, but we know that you are going to do great things! Don't be strangers!
It's a no-brainer. We all want our children to succeed emotionally, socially and academically. ❤️👫🎓⠀
Our number one "back to school" recommendation? Make sure your child has the opportunity to get enough sleep. 💤⠀
Studies show that sufficient sleep is essential for the development of "executive function" and ⠀
self regulation skills. 🧠 That includes focus, memory and planning. All REALLY important skills for doing well in school! ⠀

Flashback to Monday where we started 4th grade in White Rock, BC Canada. Hubby had another work trip and as usual we tagged along.😊 Started the morning with some spelling and math then headed across the street for some outdoor classroom time where we walked along the beach, played in the water, and built a water way. He spent most of the day directing and regulating the flow of the water against a shrinking tide. (Which felt like hours🤦🏻♀️) He discovered that using rocks helped to keep the sides of his structure from collapsing and I was given the task of finding and delivering necessary materials. It was a beautiful day and definitely the most memorable "first day of school" to date.😊 #firstdayof4thgrade , #firstdayofschool2019 , #4thgrader , #homeschool2019 , #homeschooladventures

How is this girl just a few days away from starting preschool?!⠀
😭⠀ @Philgalanty and I attended our first parent orientation for Naiya’s new school last night and this mama’s feeling ALL the feels⠀
So excited for her to meet new friends, gain confidence and independence, learn more about the world around her and explore all the crafts her school has to offer (omg, can I just live vicariously through her?!) but SO sad at the same time that the past two years have flown by so quickly⠀
How do you prepare for your kiddos’ first day of school? How about their first day ever?! I know Naiya’s ready but I don’t think I am yet! Tell me all the things!👇🏻

I was so excited for today to come. I love summer but these girls needed to go back to school. But looking at this picture, I’m kind of sad. I can only imagine the nerves they must have been feeling but probably excited at the same time. I know in a flash I won’t have this day anymore and they will be gone.
I hope they soar and I hope I gave them all I could to succeed! #firstdayofschool2019#kadynmarin#kendylannp#kinsleyjeanp

This kid couldn't quit smiling this morning. He is so excited to be joining his brother and sister for just a few half days a week. Love Jesus and go have fun, baby boy!
🏖 First homeschool field trip of the year was a blast!!!
🏖 Life is truly all about perspective 💫. When we first got here the parking lot was so packed, BUT we found the best parking space right by the entrance. Then, as we walked to the ticket line, it looked more like a mile line, BUT all of a sudden the line started moving quickly. Outside, everyone was running here there and everywhere, BUT my girls stuck together and had an awesome time!
🏖 I’ll be the first one to say that complaining comes super easy by default, BUT the moment I stop to think how I want these moments to be remembered, that alone puts it all into the right perspective for me 😌.
🏖 Seeing these genuine smiles on their faces, an afternoon full of laughs, another day full of memories, I’ll take this anytime 🥰! Cheers to the start of a brand new school year 🙌🏼!! #homeschoolwithjess#girlmom
Sent this guy off to his first day of First Grade .
He was nervous, I was nervous
He didn’t know that when I was telling him it would be ok, I was taking to myself too
His nerves faded quick when he saw his bestie and ran for the playground without a hug goodbye.
My nerves lasted all day!
What was he doing?
Is he getting lost?
Are kids being nice to him?
Does he like his teacher?
What if he hates school?
I am happy to say he met me with a great big hug and a huge smile on his face.
Told me he missed me but wants to stay at First Grade forever!
Mamas does it ever get easier?
Is this how I will feel every year..well forever?!
I love watching him grow and his little sassy personality come out, but dang time can slow down!
Did you send your kiddos back to school?

Elliott is off to his first day of kindergarten. He made it pretty easy on us because he was SO excited. He was like, “bye mom and dad!” and ran off to play on the playground without looking back. .
He’s the most excited about playing on the big playground at recess, having no nap time, and riding the bus home after school! 🚌 .
I haven’t been overly emotional about him starting kindergarten (probably because he’s so darn excited that’s it’s hard to be sad). I see it as another lesson in letting go. As our kids get older, we go from keeping them to ourselves to slowly sharing them with the world: with other family, with daycare, with their friends as they start having play dates, and then with school. As much as we may want to, we can’t keep them to ourselves forever. ❤️
Plus, if we tried to keep them to ourselves forever, we’d be depriving the rest of the world of our kids’ personalities, gifts, and love. ✨

We survived back to school week 2019!!! 🏫👨🏫🎒🚸 Who else is ready for a big glass of vino tonight lol?!?! 🍷
My Instagram was created for coloring only, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to show off my beautiful daughters on their first day of school. I now have a Junior and 7th grader and it's crazy to see how fast they've grown! #firstdayofschool#firstdayofschool2019
Y’all I really wanted that perfect photo this morning but this is the best I got. I swear she wasn’t crying about preschool. She just hates to wake up early and I tried to tell her how to stand. (Note to self: never tell a toddler how to pose.) She just doesn’t appreciate my love for Instagram 🤷🏼♀️ we both made it through her first day, and I only watched her on the webcam once a hour. 🤦🏼♀️ Which was marginally less than @ryanharris8186 did. *
Anyone else feel like summer just flew right by?! I can’t believe I have a 5th grader, 2nd grader and Kindergartener! 😱
I have had a LOT of mama emotions this year. Tess is my youngest to ever go to all-day school, Kye will be in middle school next year, and it’s my only year having all three big kids at the same school. 😢
Drop off wasn’t easy. Tess held my hand so tight as we walked through the halls. Her book bag seemed so huge and her little eyes were just about as big as she took it all in. 💔
Kye asked me NOT to walk him to his class and gave me a quick hug before we turned the corner 😭
Thankful I still have the toddler at home - y’all are gonna have to send all the ice cream my way the day he goes off to school 😭
The kids all have super sweet teachers this year and I feel confident this is going to be a great year for them all, even if Tessie says she’s never going back 😉
Looking back on 22 years of arts&crafts, backpacks, and TI-89 calculators.
It's my last first day of school! @phd_balance asked for our back-to-school pictures, so here we are.
I've been a "student" since I was 5 years old. And, honestly, my final years look a lot more like my first few years.
As a grad student, I get to spend my time reading, writing, and talking with people. My experiments are more like creative time than filling in a worksheet. Reading papers is more like reading a Sci-Fi novel than skimming a textbook. Going to science talks is basically just a real life version of the teacher rolling in the giant TV so we could watch Bill Nye the Science Guy instead of going outside for recess.
We even get snacks. And I still eat a lot of goldfish. Yay for goldfish and yay for a new (and final) year of school. <3S
I love seeing everyone’s Little’s back to school photos!! 🍎 I know Penelope Grace is only in Daycare but we hit that 1 year mark && you know I love to document everythinggg!! 😂 Plus, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity with this adorable back to school dress from @leelyclothingco!!! 🙌🏼.
Scroll over to see the difference in a year with miss P!! .
We asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up. Not that she fully understands that now! She said “Princess!!!” I laughed and asked if she was sure, do you want to be a teacher? Or a dr? And Mid question she walked away from me like she didn’t even hear me 🤦🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️ Princess it is!! My mom said I said the same thing at her age! 🤣😂

As we walked through the threshold of their new school each of them took one of my hands. My son first then my daughter. I was equal parts delighted and surprised that my 4th grader proudly held my hand as we walked into her classroom. No shame or embarrassment. Later I asked myself when this will end. Will it end? I keep looking for hints, waiting for that shoe to drop. When my sweet little kids who adore me turn into tweens and teens who’d rather have nothing to do with me.
But then it hit me... maybe it won’t come. Or maybe it will, but I don’t need to put a damper on the here and now in anticipation. I’ll cherish every hug, and reach for my hand whether it’s in front of their friends or not. “Stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight.” ― Gordon B. Hinckley
