Will lifting weights ALONE make you bigger? NO. It cannot. Strength training can only help you grow a noticeable amount of muscle tissue in COMBINATION with a consistent high calorie diet, many hours (and often YEARS) of intense training, PLUS a variety of muscle retaining and growth/strength promoting supplements. For women especially, since we have only a small fraction of the amount of testosterone that men do, we need to work even HARDER to gain size. .
Are you over 30 years old? Well then, it’s even harder to grow/retain muscle due to the beginning of age related muscle atrophy. .
Just like for people who want to LOSE weight and size, exercise alone DOES NOT WORK. Exercise can absolutely help us improve our health and of course burns calories no matter what kind we do, but unless it’s combined with a diet and lifestyle that supports our goals on a consistent basis, it won’t happen.
NOTE: There are people with unicorn like genetics who make up about .00001% of the population and can grow muscle or lose weight very easily. But, if you’re one of those people, you’ve been like that since birth. These are the kids who had a 6 pack in elementary school or never stop eating despite looking like a string bean. If that was never you as a kid, it’s not gonna be you as an adult.

🇩🇪🇬🇧Zurzeit kann ich froh sein, morgens ohne Nacken und #Kopfschmerzen aufzuwachen. Viele #Migräniker sagen immer das ist eine neurologische Krankheit. Das stimmt auch. Aber ich kann mich damit geschlagen geben oder versuchen dem Körper das zu geben, sich wohl zu fühlen. So sehe ich die Migräne als Signal, nicht in Balance zu sein.
Ich pushe mich mittlerweile gern ans Limit. Ich habe die letzten Wochen kaum Restdays gemacht😁. Ich habe im Laufen zum ersten Mal eine 4 er Pace im Ohr gehört und im Krafttraining die Gewichte steigern können. Geil war's 😂🙈. Die Migräne holt sich nun die Ruhe zurück. Und der Fokus geht zurück was der Körper will. Er empfindet es nicht schlimm, dass ich die 10,5k mit 0,8 km gehen unterbrochen habe und zwischen 5:29 bis 6:17 gelaufen bin.
Der Kopf neigt dazu den Lauf schwach zu finden, aber auch ohne Bestzeit war er trotzdem schön😊. #glückkenntkeinepace . Alles kann, nichts muss und momentan eben etwas ruhiger.
🇩🇪🇬🇧 At the moment, I can be happy to wake up in the morning without a neck and headache pain. Many migraines always say that is a neurological disease. This is also true. But I can give myself up or try to give the body that, to feel well. So I see the migraine as a signal not to be in balance.
I like to push myself to the limit. I have hardly done any restdays in the last weeks😁. For the first time I've heard a 4-in-the-ear pace while running and can lift more weights in weighttraining. It was cool😂🙈. The migraine now gets the rest back. And the focus goes back what the body wants. He does not mind that I interrupted the 10.5k at 0.8km going and ran between 5:29 to 6:17.
The head tends to find the run weak, but even without best time it was still a nice run 😊. #happinessdontneedapace . Everything can, nothing must. At the moment a little bit quieter.

A while ago a friend asked me: Who is the boss? You or the food??? Since that day I always think about it. Of course Im the Boss! But it was not always like this ...
Today I am much more aware of the things I am eating. I think 1000 times before putting the first piece of chocolate in the mouth for example. I think! Will I eat only this piece or will I eat the whole bar?
We must have control over our actions. I can even eat the whole bar, but this will be an immediate pleasure. How much time do I have to spend regretting it later?
We have to mensure our actions. We must eat in moderation so that we do not lose everything by impulse.
Think about it!!! Ponder your attitudes! It will be worth it???

Há um tempo atrás uma amiga me perguntou: você manda na comida ou ela manda em você? Desde aquele dia que eu sempre penso nisso. Sou eu quem mando é claro! Mas não foi sempre assim...
Hoje eu tenho muito mais consciência da minha alimentação. Eu penso 1000 vezes antes de colocar o primeiro pedaço de chocolate na boca por exemplo. Penso! Vou comer somente esse pedaço ou vou comer a barra inteira?
Precisamos ter controle sob nossos atos. Eu posso até comer a barra inteira, mas isso será um prazer imediato. Quanto tempo vou passar me arrependendo depois?
Tudo tem que ser pesado. Temos que comer com moderação para não colocarmos tudo a perder por um impulso.

Yes, I have days when I don't feel like working out too. Feeling kinda "meh" as my kids would say. 😑😐😕 But something happens when I tie up my hair and just get on my workout clothes. That somehow gets me more in the mood to get my sweat on. Even if that mood doesn't come, having a scheduled workout in my Bangkok Health Coach app really keeps me on track to get my workout done. 😉

I was on vacation last week in my home state of Rhode Island 🌊
It was wonderful to spend time with family and friends! But that also meant lots and lots of parties and food that I knew wouldn’t be easy to resist - my huge Italian family is full of notoriously great cooks and RI is full of specialities you just can’t get anywhere else like @delslemonade and party pizza! My aunt also might make the best eggplant Parmesan ever on the face of the 🌍! 😋
Scale says I’m down another pound after that trip though! And I ate everything you see here and more on my vacation. So how did I do it? 😋
I ate intuitively. I didn’t track. I ate my breakfast and lunch of my usual foods like oatmeal and protein and tuna salad or yogurt and protein for lunch, essentially saving my calories for the evenings when I knew it would be tempting to eat high calories. 😋
At the big family parties in the evening or at my favorite local restaurants, I ate what I wanted to but I used very small portion sizes. I took 1/4 of what I normally would have. This left me feeling satisfied, not deprived, of the foods I love! 😋

New abode, new gym, making the best of it and trying to make sure I make time for my workout in-between the move because there aren't too many things more important than our health. Working out and eating healthy helps us stay strong, gives positivity in life and helps us carry on our daily activities, including caring for others in a much better way.

It’s so interesting how you can love your children instantly and grow to love them even more over time. 🥰 She’s finally at the stage where we can “hang out” and it feels like I have a little friend to talk to, especially since my older girls are always gone now 😭 Seven is seriously the sweetest stage of life. They’re so innocent, yet intelligent; they begin to really find their interests and show progress in their talents and skills, AND, best of all! Their love and attention is still centered mostly on their parents🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼, so no competition with friends, bf’s, their phones, etc. 🙌🏼 Oh, I wish they could stay 7 forever! 🥰 Who else has or has had a 7 year old? Was that one of your favorite stages too? 💖
