This was an amazing adventure I got to have today. I’m not very athletic at all. My focus on fitness starts and stops. Being honest - it mostly stops. Exercise isn’t something hat I enjoy, and oh boy am I good at making excuses!! But it’s important. My mind knows it. And as I get older, my body is telling me that it is too. But this - this I loved. This I want more of! Right now - about 9 hours after class wrapped up - I am sore in places I didn’t expect to be sore. I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to walk very well tomorrow. But it’s a pretty good feeling knowing that I went out of my comfort zone and tried this thing I’ve always wanted to try. 💕

That’s me on the right!!! I actually got to not only fling myself through the air on a trapeze, but someone caught me from the other bar. When I signed up for the class I never thought I would be doing something like that! I figured I would spend a good amount practicing on a low bar and then just jumping off and swinging a bit. But NO! I loved this class because they got you up there and doing it! The instructors were encouraging and just as hyped as me when I did something right. It made me want to give it my all. And I’m thrilled that I got to have this experience.

This is the moment when I jumped off a platform 25 feet in the air for the first time during flying trapeze school. This is something I’ve always wanted to try, and so this was my gift to myself for my 40th birthday. I don’t love heights so that was something I needed to overcome. I just climbed the ladder, slow and steady (probably the hardest part!) and tried to listen to the instructors, and not my head. For my first couple of tries I was absolute shaking after each jump. But I loved this class. I loved that they got you up and doing it. I love how encouraging everyone was. I loved how accomplished I felt after doing it. It was a perfect gift to myself, because it gave me a boost of confidence in myself, something that I struggle with daily. Today I feel good about what I learned, did, and tried!!!
“Stars got tangled in her hair whenever she played in the sky.” Forever obsessed ⭐️ #CircusInspiration
I always knew I wanted a tattoo to represent how important circus has been in my life... but I could never decide what exactly. I don’t really identify my flying with birds, or feathers... I didn’t want anything literal, & although this quote always resonated with me so deeply, I also knew the full script would be too much for me... until one afternoon in Bali, this idea finally came into my head and I knew it was perfect. Small but sweet. Significant.
Within 15 minutes I was on the streets looking for a tattoo parlor, and within 45 minutes these little stars were mine forever ❤️ & Oh they make my heart so happy.
Anyone else have a circus tattoo?
DM me & I’ll put it in my story for everyone to see 🥰
