Alquimistas. #alchemists#cge#juegosdemesa#juegodemesa#juegos#boardgame#boardgames#brettspiel#boardgameaddict#boardgamegeek#bgg#tabletop#tabletopgames#geek#board#game#boardgamer#gamenight#tabletopgame#tabletopgames#geekgamer#juegosdetablero#tablero#boardgamenight

What underrated games do you like to introduce to your friends?
Mine’s War Chest by @alderaceg !
At first glance, most would just brush it aside as yet another abstract game, but once you try it, it’s brilliance takes over! Friends who were skeptics are now converts and even want a copy of their own!
In this recent game which was an introduction game to my friend, we started the game with random armies and it was a really tight game right down to the end.
Initially my berserkers pushed the right flank, but were cut down by his crossbowmen. Then I decided to focus on the left flank, all while my footmen were busy creating distractions on the left and middle of the battlefield.
We were both 1 point from winning and would both have to capture one of our opponent’s controlled locations for the win.
If you look carefully, my opponent had my army (swordsmen, berserkers, footmen, marshal) cut off by smartly placing his crossbowmen so that my army was split into 3 separate lanes (berserkers were initially behind the footmen, closer to me).
Seeing that coming, even though my swordsmen were close to my opponent’s base, I knew my best shot was a blitzkrieg offensive instead of a slow assault from my swordsmen. I managed to execute this plan with my berserkers right before he could pull off a counter defense - I commanded my berserkers to make a murderous march to charge right into my opponent’s vacant fort even at the cost of their lives from exhaustion, and captured it bravely (and perhaps a little crazily) even though many of them fell along the way in this clutch offensive.
We shaked hands likely gentlemen and started conducting an after action review, and my friend immediately requested a second game having experienced the brilliance of this game!
We went with drafting our armies in the rematch, which I will post about soon, so stay tuned!
#10waystosaythanks with one of the most challenging game we own 🤔
We just acquired the #whitemoon expansion and I just can't wait to try it!👏 😁👏
Did you played #ghoststories with any of the expansions? If yes, with which ones and what did you think about them?
Defender who prefers to Attack? ✔️

My purse always has the essentials. 😆
Small box games are some of our favorites to collect, especially because then they’re easy to bring with us and play when we’re out and about.
What’s your favorite portable game? We’re pretty excited to get Ultra Tiny Epic Galaxies, but in the meantime Penny Lane is lots of fun.
Age of War is a quick-playing game of conquest. Fourteen cards are laid out at the start of the game, each showing one castle and the symbols required to conquer this castle, with the symbols separated into battle lines. Each castle belongs to a clan, with some clans having only a single castle and some having up to four castles.
So U-BOOT the boardgame happened the other day from @phalanxgames. 🛳
Initially it felt very heavy to start reading the rules and getting to know the game, but after a lot of requests from my group I had to make it happen 👨✈️ The game is not difficult per say but there's alot of things to keep track of, but once you start you quickly get a hang on things.⚓️ The time we spent with the game in total which was more than 5 hours of only training mission. We decided that the game was not for us, even though we had a great time together and the suspense was immense at times!
If you are looking for a U-boat simulator or are interested in U-boats in general then there is no other game for you that will tackle this subject as U-BOOT did.
The group told me after we played that "it was good, but too real for me", with that being said if you are looking for a u-boat simulator then look no further👍😊 my copy on the other hand will find a happy new crew👩✈️🤚
Today the #boardgame weekend continues with Nemesis by the rather excellent @awakenrealmsgames - with the captain dead the scientist, the pilot, the soldier and the mechanic must repair the ship and return to Earth or do the personal objectives mean one or more of us is trying to achieve a goal counter to the rest? This tense cooperative game is thematically strong and we are very much looking forward to playing this more. #boardgamesofinstagram#boardgameaddict#geek#boardgamegeek
Another #gloomhaven#upgrade by way of @gimmedafish and @thebrokentoken (swipe right through pics)
The broken token tray just makes it considerably easier to organize but check out these sweet monster holders! They fit the map hexes perfectly and holds 2 mini D6’s to keep track of hit points (this makes game play SO much easier) it also has small slots to insert any modifiers. I’m seriously loving our upgrades!
We successfully made it through the first two scenarios so far and I can’t wait to continue.
The next step is painting the miniatures. 🎨 wish me luck 🍀

After a few #gloomhaven scenarios we broke into #foundersofgloomhaven - at GenCon it was described to me as “euro Gloomhaven” and if there is one thing I love its euro games. The game also includes 8 exclusive city event cards to be used in Gloomhaven. Those two things were enough to sell me on the game.
Founders of Gloomhaven takes place hundreds of years before Gloomhaven and is supposed to thematically illustrate the building of the city.
How is the game? Ummmm..... Will I play it again? Yes. Often? No.
I do not shy away from complex games but this one feels complex without reasoning. There are game rules that feel poorly reasoned. Each type of building has unique rules regarding what it can, can not, and has to touch. I truly wish they had streamlined this aspect of the game. It weighs the game down and slows it’s pacing. They also seemed to try to shove as many mechanics into one game as possible. The game includes voting/auction, deck building, tile placement, route building, worker placement, asymmetrical player powers, and hand management. The game also has an obtuse “trickle down” system for victory points, so if you are scoring points for building something you have to work your way backwards and allocate some of those points to the owners of the base resources ultimately used in creation of your building (even though you had to build a connected route and pay money to the owner of the resource to buy access to their resource) This is an odd dynamic because there are 8 base resources and any one player only controls two of them. I can understand the logic of providing victory points for the use of their resource or paying them to use it but it is redundant to provide both in my opinion. I probably need to tackle the game again to give a true assessment but off the bat I am not particularly impressed. It’s not that it’s a bad game, I just wouldn’t (at this point) say it’s a great one.
Also I am convinced that the word “Gloomhaven” in some long dead language translates into “an excessive number of components” 🤣
If there is anyone out there who loves this game comment below and tell me what I am missing that makes this one special for you.
Consistency is key! Bounce 3 consecutive ping pong balls into a glass without mistakes 🚫. If you miss, you must empty the glass and try again. Tag someone you'd like to team up with or play against!

U-U-U-U-UPGRADE!!!! Check out this sweet #gloomhaven#upgraded elements chart that I got from @reroll_your_dice - not only is it beautiful but he is a #veteran - specifically 82nd Airborne just like Mr. Me. If you need some amazing stuff I suggest you check him out.
We busted into a couple of games last night. The first? #megacityoceania by @wearehubgames
I have nothing but positive things to say about this game, which is particularly impressive because I do not like dex games. Do. Not. Like. Them. #tokyohighway is in my short pile of games to get rid of.
But Megacity Oceana isn’t your average dex game, there is actual strategy required that you would find in a non dex board game. You have to draft contracts, zones and building pieces- you can choose two of those actions per turn. Or you can spend your turn “delivering a contract” which is building a building based on the contract criteria (number of pieces, height, building material and special architectural features) then you have to slide the zone into the city while keeping your building in tact.
This one is absolutely going to hit the table again. I also think my kids will like it. Two enthusiastic thumbs up. I can’t believe I like dex game.
