It’s the little things that make your little camper feel like a home away from home. @ashleyweltondesigns

After hiking over 17 miles and 2 mountains in less then 24 hours apart. I'm gonna go with this weekend was a win. It's been awhile since we have been able to get out there again because of, well, life. But it sure didnt take long to get our trail legs back. Life is good!
Once a year, go someplace you've never been before.
It doesn't necessarily means a new country, roam your own city, let yourself get lost, and you'll probably find beauty. 🌿
Our linen blazer is almost out of stock - it was such a great piece and it's amazing how many of you loved it!
| You may not see it today or tomorrow, but you will look back in a few years and be absolutely perplexed and awed by how every little thing added up and brought you somewhere wonderful, or where you always wanted to be. You will be grateful that things didn't work out the way you once wanted them to. |
Montserrat, located about 60km out of Barcelona, is a popular hiking destination.
There are several trails of various degrees of difficulty, among which the climb to Sant Jeroni peak is probably the most challenging.
Sitting at 1236m it offers a height difference of around 1100m from the start of the trail which is less than 10km long, making the climb respectably steep all way.
The Montserrat monastery (Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey) makes for a perfect place to rest about halfway up.
Despite the considerable effort it requires of inexperienced hikers, the unhindered panoramic views from the Sant Jeroni peak is truly worth the while!

Sunlight finally pierced through the clouds at 0430 on sunday morning after one very rainy saturday. Oscar and I had waited for this moment since we arrived on friday afternoon. He had more faith in the weather and was the one who put the alarm on for 0400 and 0800 (we went to bed at midnight) so that we might have a chance of catching some light before hiking back to the ferry. Who needs sleep anyways? We must have looked ridiculous at 0400 - two bleary-eyed longjohn wearing dummies emerging from a tent, running around taking as many photos as we could for an hour and then returning back to the tent for a few more hours…anyways check out these two photos and see what a difference a few hours can make!
My time in Mongolia has come to end and without a doubt it's been my favourite trip I've done yet. Driving through vast landscapes, seeing the nomadic way of life and all the animals. But also lots of good times with new pals from around the world.
So here's my obligatory photo in front of the giant Chinggis Khan statue on my last day in Mongolia. Probably not worth the time and money to climb through his horse but gotta get that pic for the gram I guess.
I wish I could explain to you what the outdoors has given me. I’ll try...⠀
Climbing mountains has taught me what legs are for; and that going up is always worth the struggle. ⠀
Biking downhill has taught me to look ahead, towards where I want to go; what’s underneath me is already underneath me. ⠀
Sliding on snow has taught me not to overcorrect; if something isn’t going well, make small, subtle adjustments with a calm mind and a focused eye. ⠀
Camping with a dog has taught me not to sweat the small stuff; sometimes life is messy, and aren’t we lucky to get to live in that mess? (Read: dog hair. Everywhere.)⠀
While I’m a fan of a good metaphor, none of these are that. If you’ve spent enough time challenging yourself in the outdoor space, you also know that there is no shortage of wisdom in those places and experiences that connect us to earth. ⠀
So, I urge you: go up, look ahead, make small corrections, and enjoy the mess. Isn’t that why we’re here?⠀
Also: all of those ^ experiences come to life for me thanks in large part to @backcountry . I’ve partnered with them to help you #FindYourBackcountry . Click the link in my bio to shop and use promo code NICOLE15 at checkout for 15% off your first order (exclusions apply). ⠀
I’ve lost track of the amount of cuts, bruises, mosquitos bites & burnt feet that I’ve incurred on this trip to Italy 🤦🏼♀️ So happy I had @wellyfirstaid with me on this trip! #getwelly#wellypartner#ad

↟ Imagine this! Waterfalls and wolfdog’s howling... or maybe not the howling. I hope we’d never stumble on each other in the dark, or if so, than that he’s extremely and incredibly fond of me 😬🙊!
