Mobility: the ability to move freely; having full range of motion.
If you are or were a dedicated athlete for a decent amount of time, most likely you dealt with some sort of injury: sprained joint, torn ligament, broken bone, muscle tightness, etc...
All these situations create tension in the body and can effect your range of motion, which then effects your ability to train. I always recommend adding yoga to your weekly routine to help keep your body functioning with little to no pain.
