Everyone thinks more is better! Upping the sets, upping the reps, upping how many leg sessions you do per week etc etc but this just means your gunna end up spending 3 hours at a time in the gym 👎 .
Here’s my approach: I am probably the same as most people with an upper body bigger than my legs so I’ve got to consider how I’m going to make them a strong point. Instead of absolutely smashing them to pieces twice a week with 25+ sets on each session where I can’t walk for the rest of the week, I just do 6-10 sets at the start of each upper body session .
Benefits of this approach - • less volume so less soreness meaning I can train them again • I am more likely to train my legs harder knowing I’ve only got a few sets to do rather than thinking I’ve got 25 to do • easier to track and progress a lesser amount of sets meaning we can utilise progressive overload for muscle growth • total sets done over the week will be nearly the same anyway but each set will have been more intense .

I thought there was a 4th, there wasn’t but maybe when im not sick

Me IRL - 10pm at a work seminar after eating half the snack table. .
I just want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who is in my corner (and I’m sorry I’ve been terrible at replying lately ❤) . These last few weeks (months?) I have had a pretty decent helping of stress, and starting my new job, taking on a big client and being on the road hasn’t helped that too much either. I’ve also had a bunch of awesome exciting stuff happening – so all together it’s just a lot of stuff all at once. My diet has sucked (actually depends how you look at it, if you like junk food my diet has been awesome), my training has been ok and everything has been a bit of a whirlwind.
This isn’t one of those posts to say ‘I’m back, lets do this’, this is just me saying I’m still here, still doing my best, still going. Tomorrow we get up and do it all again.
