Summer is coming to an end and I’m as sad as Bucky is when he sees me packing for a road trip. I’m excited though too because that means it’s time to give up my summer eating and get back on track. I had someone ask me if I always wait til the weekend to have a “treat”. The answer to that is both yes and no 🤔
I have a “treat meal” once a week - which I save for the weekends! (Usually). This is an untracked meal of whatevaaahhh I want (today’s choice - @clebrownieco S’mores brownie. Peep me story for food porn 🍫)
But, I also like to treat myself throughout the week as well! 😍 I usually plan for 1 “fun” food, something not typically considered prep- friendly, per day. I’ve been super into cereal 🥣 lately but also will have things like pop tarts, Oreos, chips etc.
Doing this ⬆️ helps me stick to my plan! But what happens if I have a unplanned treat? 🤔
➡️ If it’s just something small (bite size candy, a few chips, one spoonful of ice cream etc) - I usually don’t track it or change anything 🤷🏻♀️ I’m in off season and don’t need to be crazy strict with my macros
➡️ If it’s something more calorie dense - if it’s NOT the end of the day and I still have more food to eat that day, I will track it and try to re-work my macros for the day to fit that food in ✍🏻 .
➡️ If it is the end of the day with no more macros and I eat more food then planned..... what do I do?.
❌ I do NOT cut my macros the next day to make up for it. ❌ I do NOT do extra cardio to make up for it.
✔️ I DO move on and try to do better the next day.
You don’t need to be perfect to make progress!! Have a great day!!!
*** I would like to point out that when I am prepping I am NOT this flexible. I hit my macros (+\- maybe 2g) every single day of prep. Which is why having more flexibility in my off season is so important and amazing for me!!

How active are you OUTSIDE of the GYM? 🤔
Sure, you may lift weights 4-5 days a week and maybe throw some time on the elliptical or treadmill in there too - but how much time do you spend being active outside of the gym?
I have tried to make it a point (over the last year or so, but more so since prep has ended) to be a more ACTIVE person!! 🏃🏻♀️.
What does this look like for ME?
🐶 30 minute walks daily with Wesley.

🧘♀️ Yoga throughout the week
If you’re someone who spends almost all day sitting down, especially if you work a desk job like me, I encourage you to try to get up a moooooveee a little more throughout the day!
❌ This DOES NOT mean you have to commit a long period of time to a walk every single day (unless you can, and want to, then go for it!)
✔️ This DOES mean you move a little more when you have the opportunity to. Even if it’s just for a few minutes throughout the day :
➡️ TAKE THE STAIRS instead of the escalator or elevator (I am HUGE on this - if you don’t have a physical disability making it impossible for you to take the stairs.... stop being lazy and walk those steps).
➡️ Park in the farther parking spot instead of circling for minutes and minutes trying to get a closer spot.
➡️ Bring a spare pair of tennis shoes to keep at your desk so you can walk on your breaks at work.
➡️ Stretch for a few minutes when you wake up or before you go to bed, or even at your desk.
➡️ Go for a walk or just play with your dog.
➡️ Literally ANYTHIIIING that gets you moving!!
Not only has this helped me burn some extra calories each day and makes me feel good physically, it makes me feel good MENTALLY also! (Especially when I get outside when the weather is nice ☀️) I hope it will do the same for you. •

Definitely out of my element with posting a pic of myself like this but I felt pretty good after setting a new distance record on the water rower. I don't get to have consistent workout routines between family, work and side work but you have to find time to get it done. Other than dumbbells my workouts are strictly cardio and body resistance training. No real goals here other than to hit 195lbs (currently 200lbs). Also, I'll be turning 40 in November and I'm trying to keep up with my 9 year old and put some health in the bank for my later years. Every little bit helps. I'm sure I'll catch some heat for this but it's all good. Hopefully it helps someone else that hasn't started yet or just needs a little push. When my friend @jjhines sent me the photo on the left this morning from FOUR YEARS AGO, and started gassing up how amazing my progress has been... I was blown away! 🌬🌬🌬 Sometimes, I think, you don't realize how much progress you've made until you pause and look back. Having my fair share of rocks ☄and bumps in the past, I've made a habit of only looking forward... this showed me that taking a peek back every now and then isn't such a bad thing after all.

A few things I’ve learned so far about this challenge :
This isn’t something you do to impress people. This is for you and you only, therefore you cannot expect everyone to understand. It’s MENTAL. It requires DISCIPLINE. It requires planning. It requires long hard looks in the mirror. It will cause doubt, tears and brief moments of feeling defeated. Calling yourself out daily. Drinking your last bit of water while feeling nauseated and finishing the last few pages of your book while your eyes are barely open. More than anything it takes INTEGRITY. It sucks. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done. But I’m ready to dominate these last 25 days! Thank you @andyfrisella for sharing this challenge along with all your raw and real content. Your podcast have pushed me through many of my outdoor workouts. @britphelps Thank you for sharing your daily progress! 💪🏼
I’m always thankful for the support I receive! I post my days for accountability but y’all have no idea how powerful your words of encouragement have been! This is my challenge BUT if it inspires just one person to make a move towards their goal it’s a bonus! ❤️
When you’re craving a quesadilla and a salad so you make both 😋 I made a bowl similar to this a while ago but never got around to posting it. Well today I finally remade it and I gotta say it’s a new fave of mine 🙌🏼 I remade my garlic and onion cream cheese, added in a bunch of sautéed spinach and mushrooms, layered inside a grain free tortilla, then sautéed until crispy. I added some taco bowl inspired sides and devoured it in 10 minutes. I’ll be heading to yoga in a bit to get some much needed sweat on! I hope you all are enjoying this beautiful Monday 🌻
Quesadilla Bowl: mushroom and spinach cheezz quesadillas (spread my homemade garlic and onion cream cheese [recipe on my wonton post] on half of a @sietefoods almond tortilla + add in sautéed spinach and mushrooms in @chosenfoods avocado oil + fold over and crisp up in lightly oiled pan + cut into thirds + repeat one more time if desired...highly recommend) + mashed avocado + homemade pico de Gallo + pinto beans + mixed greens
