Finally got back out there today 😩 He is in a huge pasture with his new buddies so catching him was an effort, he walked up to me and then decided "ehhhhhh maybe not" and proceeded to walk on by, so I kept walking and started loving on his buddy until he came back 😂.
He's starting to get more comfortable around me, I've gained the privilege of being able to love on his face and he is a lot less watchy (though still always wants to know what I'm doing and what I'm bringing him, which I love)
Its hella hot out today but I really wanted to get on him and try loping him around, I'm an experienced rider though not the most confident so I wanted to get it out of the way and figure out how he moves and responds, it took us a little bit because I had to work on getting his attention away from some horses coming off a trailer but eventually we got it and I feel a lot better about myself
In the last bit I decided to ride him down the road from the property, if anything he was very unsure about it. I got lots of "idk if we should be doing this.. are you sure we wont get in trouble??" vibes from him but that's understandable, I kept him forward until he decided it was cool and then we turned and headed back
All in all, fun times and I am already planning out the next visit 😂.

Failure transfer of passive immunity in newborn foal
My parents bought Babe for my sisters first birthday (before I was born). My sister is now 21 so we have had her for a little over 20 years. She was my sisters first horse and taught us both how to ride.
When I was about probably 7 or 8, my sister started riding another horse we had and gave Babe to me and she has been my baby ever since.
We rode western and for years we showed in walk trot, western pleasure, trail classes, barrels, poles and even a little western dressage. She is the most perfect little pony and would always do anything you asked her to do at the best of her ability.
For about the last 6 years she has been semi retired with just some bareback rides here and there but unfortunately last May she started going lame and we discovered that she has laminitis. Last year was a tough year for her but we got her through it and she’s doing great now but because of that she is now in full retirement.
Because of that I might not post much about her except for old videos and things but she will forever be the best horse I’ve ever had the opportunity to bond with. I’ve definitely found my heart horse ❤️❤️
