🇪🇨 #guayasamin#quito#ecuadoramalavida#elaliyo
Stay tuned! We are going from one east coast to another! 🔜 🇯🇵 ⛩

Thankful to have learned about traditional tea ceremonies and to have made our own sweets for it (I tried to make a kokeshi doll). Still a bit bitter I didn’t get to wear a kimono (more $$) but it doesn’t make the experience less incredible!
⛰☀️🌊 Surfing is synonymous with Waikiki. Not only did Hawaiians invent the sport of surfing, but the legendary Duke Kahanamoku—original beachboy, Olympic gold-medal swimmer, and the father of modern-day surfing, who hailed from Waikiki—introduced the fluid sport to the world. The surf breaks that Duke made famous riding on heavy wooden boards are the same spots that surfers seek out today. While the waves are biggest, best, and most consistent during summer, June-September, Waikiki has the potential to see surf at any time during the year. Whether you are a longboarder, a shortboarder, experienced, a novice, or a first-timer, Waikiki has a number of breaks that suit all abilities. Let’s go!
Only 2 days left of my happy little holiday. We've eaten incredibly, thanks to the boys and thier constant bbqing, lounged by the pool all day and I've gotten nice a pink shade. 🦞🦞 I have forgotten what I do for a living and im not sure I'm ready to go back to structured days. 🌞🌊
the modernist national mosque of bangladesh, featuring a cube-shaped central structure modelled after the kaaba of mecca. there used to be a mughal-inspired garden with a reflecting pool similar to that of the taj mahal in front of the mosque but this had since been removed to accommodate a newly extended courtyard funded by saudi arabia.
meet the fearsome komodo dragons, the world's largest living species of lizard. growing to a maximum length of 3 metres, these giant lizards are found in the wild in pockets of western flores and the islands that constitute komodo national park, a unesco world heritage site and one of the new7wonders of nature.
the komodo dragons have been known to attack humans and are capable of delivering a potentially lethal bite. their saliva was previously thought to have been highly septic which contributed to the deaths of their prey, but this was later disputed by researchers who suggested the presence of venom glands in their jaws.
One from Switzerland. I’ve never been before & i have to say it was even more beautiful than I had hoped, driving over the top of the alps was both scary and wonderful especially! But actually, spending time beside the lake until the sun sets will be one of my lasting memories.
A fair amount of our holidays involve water. Sea, lakes and rivers, we love them all.
I’m missing the lazy days of holiday this week, throwing ourselves back into the whirlwind of wet floors and back to school soon organisation - work is still a little on hold. Maybe next week.
For now there’s a long weekend to enjoy x

All the magical worlds that may be hiding on the other side of this door 🧚🏻♀️ The arched wooden door of 11th century St Edward’s Church looks more like a portal to a fairy realm than a church entrance ✨ So many magical places in England. The country never ceases to amaze me 🍃🏰 This shot was taken a couple of days ago on our escape to Cotswolds with my dear @dy_ellie. Can’t wait to share more pictures and videos with you from that trip ❣️

Lake Tahoe in all of its sparkly, blue glory ✨In retrospect, I should have gone for a Little Mermaid pose on this rock. And if you’re starting to think I make everything about Disney movies- it’s true. I do. 🧜♀️

On my last trip to Santorini, I stayed in three different accommodation types.
It highlighted to me how very different my experience of the island was depending on where I was staying, even though I loved them all..
- 5 star luxury (pictured here)
- luxury private villa rental
- budget Airbnb rental
I'll share a few of the differences on my stories next week as I get asked a lot of questions about where to stay in Santorini, so this may help.
