Hi from Iceland! (And we started off with a real adventure...)
We visited the Westfjords mainly for this incredible waterfall and it was definitely worth it. Although, there was some really bad gravel on the road and road works, and it left us with a flat tire. 🙈 In the middle of nowhere... So, for the first time in our lives, we changed a tire. 💪
And now we need to get to a garage and try to get the other one fixed, because we have many more gravel roads on our itinerary...
We toured Namibia and Red Center in Australia for weeks and drove thousands of kilometres of gravel roads without any problems, but I guess it had to happen once... So we learned something new today... Have you ever had a flat tire?
Before I sleep, a far-away image that I’m transporting my mind to. I’m reminded of the amphibious boat that took me right to the glaciers that feed the lagoon. Once, a chunk of it came off, then drifted slowly to the sea. The blue tinted ice’s really pretty, depending on the amount of air trapped inside. 🌝😴 (Good night)
Up for pre-order! Link in Bio! I'm finally done & the book will be out in the world. It's up on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. I'm not sure which other outlets have it yet, but try looking for it wherever you buy your books. Poetry/haiku from an unforgettable place: Iceland!
One of the most magnificent things I’ve ever had the pleasure to witness. Nature is magic 🌈✨

So we were driving down this really high mountain and after a corner we had to hit the brakes not to crash into a group of atleast 10 horses running straight towards the car in the middle of the road. Naturally I pulled the car to the side and got my camera, one of the horses had a few bites on my green jacket but then went on to catch up with this buddies. 📷🐴
Berry picking season is upon us here in Iceland! Wild crowberries (krækiber) and blueberries (bláber) are ready to eat starting in late summer/autumn and can be found growing wild on sunny hillsides and near streams. Because of the different weather patterns in different parts of the county, some regions have much better berry picking than others. Berry picking expeditions are a favorite pastime during this time of year. Nothing beats eating sun-warmed, just-picked berries while resting on a hike!⠀⠀

#iceland 2019 🇮🇸🌋🌪 Only 6 weeks until to the next Iceland trip😍
A hike following waterfalls starting from Iceland's most powerful - Skógarfoss and then following the river and all the glacial and ground water streams that feed into it. Unfortunately our hike got cut short due to dangerous winds at the mountain pass but hey, more time to knit. Glad I made that hat - it was perfect for today's weather. #icelandadventure#goforawalk#wearingallthewoollies
The Ice of the Arctic contains around 10 % of the worlds fresh water. This giant white frozen reservoir reflects sunlight helping keep the region cool. Whilst the ice is breaking up faster each year waters become warmer due to the water absorbing the heat. Polars have shorter feeding winters and harp seals have less of chance to breed and their young have less of a chance of surviving. It’s time we took action, if not now then when ?

During our last trip to Iceland I made a conscious effort to slow down and be more present in the moment. In the past I've often gotten caught up in trying to get the perfect picture of Rob and I. Before we arrived to this cottage I had planned to set up a tripod and do pictures of us in it. Instead I decided to take a step back, and just enjoy this place with Rob as we lit up fires at night, watched movies, and even tried to solve a puzzle
