What a summer it has been! First some time back in MT with the family, then a month in Iceland 🌋 🇮🇸, and now moving into my apartment in Boise with only a week until my Geology PhD program starts!? I have to say that I am very thankful for how awesome this summer was and that I am absolutely ecstatic about starting school next week! Pictures from Iceland will be ready soon. As for now, Explore On and GO BRONCOS!!

До появления викингов в Исландии был лес, но поселенцы завезли овец, которые сьели все деревья и климат стал более холодным. Сейчас только один процент острова покрыт лесом. Его пытаются возрождать, но процесс идет медленно, овец никто не отменял))
SO GUYS. We have come back after spending a week in Iceland 🇮🇸. I am struggling to put my experience into words because it was just. that. overwhelming. But I’m going to try, so if you’re interested, please keep reading.
In Iceland, Nature is King. No, I really mean it. Nature rules you there, like in no other place on earth. You are completely, entirely at the mercy of the whimsical weather and of extreme weather conditions. There have been blizzards, in the middle of July. ❄️ In June, the Sun never sets. 🌞 Wind speeds can go upto HUNDREDS of km per hour. 💨 It’s not for the faint hearted (me. I am faint hearted, but I went, and I loved it, and if you can, you need to go as well). But its also pristine. It is literally the landscape that comes to your mind when you think of Paradise. There are waterfalls at every turn. 💧 There is freezing cold glacial water flowing in from mountains and boiling hot Geysir water that erupts from within the earth. 🥵 It can begin to rain on a perfectly sunny day, and you are treated to countless rainbows. 🌈 REAL RAINBOWS. THEY CAN HAPPEN AT ANY TIME. 🌈 The most adorable animals flank the parks, the mountains, and the farms in the countryside. 🐑 🦆 🐮 🐴 You don’t have to go to a special place to see these wonderful things, you just drive down the ring road and you find your eyes treated by Nature in all its glory in every turn. Oh my God, you guys, Iceland is a spiritual experience. I’m still struggling to wrap my head around how stunning it was- so I’ve shared the first part of the trip with you in my stories. Go and see, today I’ve posted about some amazing locations with tectonic plates, a colossal waterfall and geysirs exploding from the earth. Theres also a failed video in there in which the Geysir is showing us our aukat. So enjoy, and let me know what you think.
