I have been working on this project endlessly for months now and I’m so overwhelmed with this delivery. ✨
Something I always had in the back of my head as an ‘I’d love to one day...’ that turned into an ‘I’m going to do it!’
Don’t squish those dreams because you doubt yourself. You’d be amazed how many people actually have your back. ✨
PREORDERS are my first priority. Packing and shipping those babies out to people who have been waiting so patiently, and then whatever stock I have leftover will go up onto the website for sale to whoever wants one! I will only have a limited supply, so get in fast!
The Perils of Being #Colourful .
Part 1: So in my spin class the instructor does this round where she calls out a colour and if you’re wearing it you have to sprint. I’m the only person always wearing every single colour in every outfit so I never get a break! 🌈
happy #humpday guys. the weekend is now fast approaching so here’s a splash of amazing arty colour to celebrate 🌈. .
it’s from the fab Anish Kapoor exhibition at @pitzhanger that’s just closed and which I LOVED. if you saw it, you’ll know what I’m talking about 🙌 who’s looking forward to the weekend? .

Stole a full day in the studio today. Mostly to work on an exciting new commission, but also to try to finish off some old friends (or enemies, as may be). It's been a battle royale with one, and I fear she's no better than when I recommenced on her today. Definitely not ready for pictures.
But this little one is ready for the world. The face that emerged from my abstract first stage, begun last time. (See pic 2)
From my new 'Daydreams Within' series. 10" x 10" Oil on canvas
My very own studio critter popped up to see how I was doing, just as I was sketching willow warblers (from photos) - she has a keen nose for the birdies....(pic 3)
Colour choices for starting #jumpstartwithjenny
I think it was through binge watching paint reviews I stumbled upon jenny's jump start series. Watched a few and it looked like it was exactly what I wanted: something structured to just go through specific aspects of watercolour. The abstractness at the start was also welcome!
I settled on the following colours (from top to bottom):
- Perylene Black (PBk31)
- Transparent Yellow (PY150)
- Venetian Red (PR101)
- Quinacridone Red (PR209)
- Winsor Blue (RS) - (PB15:1)
And if anyone was wondering why I kinda stopped posting for .... oh wow a week ..... well I've been mixing colours!
!!! Warning rambling about colours: !!!
I also spent way to long trying to pick colours. MostIy because I wanted to start my own personal colour palette from the ones I pick.
I knew I wanted to try out perylene black (Pbk31) as my neutral/green. Then I wanted a primary triad with neutraliser for my blue paint. I basically went though almost every mixing combo of the following paints: Transparent Yellow (PY150), New Gamboge/Indian Yellow (PY153), Hansa Yellow Deep (PY65) Isoindoline Yellow (PY110), Pyrrole Orange (PO73), Quinacridone red (PR206), Quinacridone Magenta (PR122), Manganese Violet (PV16), Prussian Blue (PB27), French Ultramarine (PB29), Phthalo Blue PB15:1 and PB15:3, Perylene Maroon and Red (PR179), Venetian and light red (PR101), walnut brown (PBr33) and I think also Raw and Burnt Umber (PBr7).
I ended up really liking all the earthy colour mixes with venetian red and the other colours, and the opaqueness seemed manageable when kept diluted. Picked Winsor Blue for its mixing complement. Then I kinda just picked my fav yellow and red. Luckily I get some natural greens and a reasonable albeit darker, purple. Seems a nice core set of paints to be work with!
Hands up who else loves bright colours? According to #joyfulbook the reason that bright colours give us a feeling of joy is because “It activates an ancient circuit that lights up with pleasure at the idea of finding something sweet to eat.” Cool huh?
I’m just a little bit obsessed with teal at the moment. What’s your favourite colour? #colourcrush#colourmehappy#ihavethisthingwithcolour

I can properly share the prettiest blanket ever with you soon, but in the meantime here's another teaser! 🙊😬 Basically it would've been with lovely Stacy by now but I'm a div so it isn't, what can I say?! 🙈 My order book is now completely empty too so if you're starting to think about autumn loveliness I'd get in now before the autumn/halloween/Christmas/winter rush! #justsaying 🤔 Don't you all blame me when you want something for Christmas in November and it's just impossible! 😫🙄😬
Happy Monday, friends! 💕 I've had lots of questions about our current living situation... in case you missed it we are in the process of building a new home! We have sold and moved out of our boho abode and are currently staying with family until our "forever" home is finished. Hopefully early October.🤞 In the meantime, I'm super excited to share my new design ideas and updates throughout the building process in my stories!
It's Friiiiiiiiidaaaay 🙌 don't mind me, I'm just a little bit excited I've found a new angle to take photos from in the playroom, it may be tiny, but it sure packs a punch 👊🌈 Have a great weekend everyone ❤️
