Every major city in the world is known for something in particular. Some places for their mouth-watering food, others for their lush sceneries or virgin beaches.
Then there's this city which is one part of chaos, one part of divine beauty and one part of everything. That's a place like no others, where cars are not only not allowed but they, in fact, just cannot exist there. All means of transportation are solely dependent on the canal infrastructure of the city.
That's Venice - arguably one of the most recognisable cities in the world for its gondolas, architectural masterpiece, unbelievable rich cuisine and countless more!
🍊On the south side of the bay of Naples, surrounded by craggy cliffs and orange groves, there’s Sorrento.
⛵️ Who wouldn’t want to spend at least a weekend here?

Did you know Milan was so close to Lake Como? We loved Milan as our base because you are able to go to so many beautiful places from Milan. In just one hour by train we were in this beautiful town of Varenna in Lake Como. In a couple hours you could be in Venice or the Dolomites. August in Italy can be a bit slow. Many people close up shop and the city can seem desolate. It's great for us, though. With so many beautiful places nearby, it's definitely a perfect city to base yourself from. Next week we are off to Como to celebrate our birthdays and we can't wait. 🍰🎉🎂

What's your favorite Italian city?
I have been to Venice at least once a year since I was born and it never gets old- if anything, each time I go back I appreciate it even more. There really is no other city where you breathe such a tangibile history... in every marble stone and in every corner there is a story waiting to be told. I still, to this day at times, feel projected back into the times of Casanova as I wander around the narrow “calli”... it’s just magical. It’s my favorite city by a long shot in all of Italy... hopefully will be back for Carnevale!
The story behind Alberobello, once a town of trulli alone, is simple. Long story short, people wanted to avoid paying property taxes to the King, and therefore they built houses and dwellings without mortar, so that the tax bill would remain invaribly low 👍🏘🧱
I tramonti.
